This place gets an unstable 3 stars. They could have had 4 if they had a better attitude. They could have had 2 if their food was actually shitty. I decided to go here to host dinner for my sister's bachelorette party. The woman I planned this with over the phone was amazing. She was soo friendly and personable, she even called me back to give me recommendations of what bars we could go to after our dinner party. This place was #3 of 4 places the bachelorette party was to hit and the only place where all of the girls would definitely be. I had it scheduled for 8:30PM and we were to have 2 hours to eat, drink, and be merry before my sis goes off to actually marry. And everyone got to eat, drink, and be merry... aside from me, the coordinator. I called every bar on the 4-item list and let them know my party was behind, that gathering 14 girls to get to places on time was a chore (and I even scheduled 15 mins of padding time to compensate for that)! And 3 of 4 bars were okay with that. Not Kit Kat Lounge. They berated me! They pulled me aside and said to me, sorry your late, you and your ladies have less than an hour to eat and drink and then we cannot service you anymore. We were about 30 mins late. But they apparently has us scheduled for 8PM not 830PM. Even though I was 99.9% certain I had it planned for 830PM, especially since that's what I got printed in ink on the expensive invites anyways! So to them we are an hour late. So I'm frazzled because I'm here, and half the party is here, but not all, and not the bride-to-be. What was I to do? I couldn't hold their hands and make them on time! I couldn't confiscate them and deliver them PRIORITY MAIL to Kit Kat Lounge myself! I told them, "Well I will appreciate your services and if you need us to move or leave just let me know and I will handle it." And in my mind I was imagining how in the world could we eat, drink, do my bride/groom quiz, open gifts, yadda yadda in that time. And I got a steely stare from my server! But when the time ran up.... Nothing.... No booting us out kicking and screaming. No flashing of the teeth from the servers. No poison in our foods (the food was actually amazing), or at least mine (probably cuz I managed the bill). We got to stay until 1230AM. So I don't know what happened there to pardon us of all of our sins, but the night fared well. The female impersonator was stunning. Talented and entertaining. Made a few conservative jaws drop but it was better than hiring and midget male stripper. The food was on point. Tasty with character and flair! Drinks a perfect 10, and was loving the amount of choices we all had for drinks! The price, unbeatable. $55 for 2 drinks, 2 family style appetizers, and a great meal is a steal of a deal for Chicago. $62 per person was the grand total and that is quite fair for what we got out of it content-wise. Minor flaws: 1) Parking was impossible. Sure Chicago parking is impossible in general. Mix that with out of towners who are not as savvy with vultering and preying on a parking spot and you can make late-comers out of early birds. For this kind of venue you'd think that they could manage to get a valet service in line to accommodate! 2) The seating, well perhaps just for our particular party, was sooo cramped we could bruise our neighbor with an elbow and pierce them accidentally with a fork. Granted we had 2 extra people show, it was crazy tight, it was tight even with 12. 1 major flaw of the night... the music was SOOOOOOOOOOOO loud I couldn't even hear myself sneeze. Forget conversation, impossible, just a series of hand gestures and batting eyes and smiles at each other. I could only do my quiz based on the fact the ladies could read and fill them out for themselves (lucky they all can read). But if they could tone that music down and make sure 100% of the staff has a gentle toned attitude (instead of 50%). Then this place would be rockin' the primary choice for places to host a bachelorette party. They have a bit of room for improvement before they get there. read more

Went with friends who were visiting out of town for the Free Britney drag brunch. We were super pumped and I told my friends it would be amazing, as I have been to a few drag shows elsewhere that have been nothing but fun. There was only one performer who did not do anything more than walk up and down the middle of the room asking for money and calling tables out that didn't give any money. There was at least a 15 minute wait between each set, and then again, it would just be walking up and down. The guests and bartenders were like fifty times more lively than the performer. I will say that the cocktail I had was quite delicious, so go to the Kit Kat lounge on a regular day, as the staff is quite lovely and the cocktails are great. Don't waste your money going to a drag brunch there, because it is truly not worth it. I felt so bad for how much I had hyped up a drag brunch to my friends and we walked out of there kinda stunned at how bad it was. read more

Every time I go visit this establishment the staff treats me like Gold. I adore Simeon and ChuckThey really know how to attract business and treat customers more than fair. I have always been willing to tip them significantly above average because of how kind they are to me it's like they treat me like family. There was even one experience I had where someone who had a little bit too much and was being aggressive so I stepped outside for a cigarette and they handled it for me but they did it diplomatically. I have frequented this restaurant a dozen plus times and consider myself a regular since I've moved here 3 years ago. While the service is always tolerable, it's the excellent food quality and talent of the showgirls that brings me back. I admit, it has taken me this long to write a review. I suppose I was waiting for the right "wow" moment. Today, I had that moment :) I walked in w/my roommate to a typically packed bar at 12:50pm on a Sunday. After browsing the nearly full bar we noticed 2 solo bar seats on either end. A particularly good looking and immaculately dressed human walks up and asks if there's something we need. Within minutes he's moving chairs and called us over for a 2 top at the bar. Next follows a stellar food combo of chicken+waffles (a staple there, juicy and not dry at all!) and rice crispies French toast. My friend is a vegetarian and was more than happy with her choice. Our bartender Alejandro kept us parched w mimosas+good humor and the showgirl was amazing--as per usual. One after other guests came pouring in, then out, then in again with maybe minutes to spare. All the while watching employees wipe glasses, run food, clean tables and help make drinks. It was some time later we learned this lovely human (still dressed to the T) who seemed to be a jack of all trades at this point--was the owner!! I must say, I've worked in the service industry for 10+yrs. it isn't often one sees an owner so willing to go above and beyond. I'm writing this review today because I'm impressed with both the determination and the team work of the entire KitKat crew that it takes to keep this restaurant full, happy, impressed and satisfied each and every Sunday. We haven't been able to visit Kit Kat when it's fully opened BUT we stopped by during our walk around the block this past weekend and they were selling these fantastic disco ball cocktails that were equally cute and strong. It was my birthday and when they found out, gifted me a little crown to wear and shots! Even just stopping by for a quick drink, they made me feel special. Had a great time! This place is swanky and fierce. The atmosphere is inviting. If you catch a glimpse from the big windows you will DEFINITELY want to go in. I spent the evening with my girls and we were entertained and fed well. We enjoyed the Friday night special with our reservation: appetizer, entree, and our choice martini. I opted for the Kit Kat Salad, the Mae West (chicken and waffles) and The Pornstar martini. All excellent. Enjoyed the Mae West thoroughly. It was a pleasant surprise to have the banana purée with my mashed potatoes (you automatically think gravy). The waffles and syrup were just right, not drenched or too sweet, and the chicken was crispy but not burned. My drink was EVER-Y-THANG (not to mention my lovely take home gift on top of my drink....). The entertainment was FAB and these queens are giving you a top notch show. The decor is nice, but canb get a bit loud. If you come for the performances you will not be let down. First time ever in this place, knowing that we were a group of 5, I emailed KKL a night before for reservation and received answer the following day. I was told after a certain time it was first come first serve. Then when we arrive to the KKL the doorman/security asked us for a reservation...so nonetheless we were confused, but we were able to get seated. Our waiter was so nice, and the bartenders were great. Everyone wearing mask and friendly. Sadly the owner was not as nice and our experience went south when he arrive. I believe the owners name is Ramesh (apologies if I'm spelling wrong) I have to say I do not for sure if indeed that was the owner but that's what we were told; 1. His mask was not on properly 2.Rude to our group-told us "keep it down" while everyone around us was a loud as us. Anyway, first and only time. I'm sure this won't get far but after spending over $150 you expect more from ownership (if I'm fact it was him) Therefore to whoever reads this, and if you visit KKL be sure to "keep it down" and be ready for your food to be edible and nothing more.... This is simply a FUN, very lively, and energetic place to gather with friends over great cocktails. It gets loud after 7pm. Sip on drinks and you won't mind at all. The shows are great. The cocktail menu is big. There's really something for every tastebud. I haven't had many items on the food menu, but the small bites during their happy hour were good. They didn't leave me wondering when I can go back to enjoy them again, but I would order them again if nothing else stood out to me. The service has always been very nice and helpful. I took one of my BFFs for her bachelorette party and we had a complete and total blast. There was only one slight hitch, which is that we had to wait half an hour after our reservation, but they gave us a free round of drinks so it wasn't so terrible. Our party of 4 was seated in the back area, so we didn't get as much draggy attention as the front area. We had a couple appies - + asparagus salad (with strawberry vinaigrette, some cream cheese bites)... lots of flavors, but my mouth couldn't focus on one + calamari w/ an Asiany sweet/sour sauce... yum + frites... not bad Server we had was decent. Very unique place. We came on a night where they had a burger/beer special, as well as half off martinis. I got some whiskey drink which was real good - didn't eat though. The drink menu is enormous though, if you don't find something you like, then something is wrong with you! I came here for my friend's bachelorette party and there were 2 other bachelorette and a birthday party already there. The service was average and they had a scantily clad young man walk around offering test tube shots. I was most disappointed with the drag queen performer. It seemed that she only paid attention to the table and even though we were tipping her, she barely paid attention to us. Maybe Chicago drag queens are just different performers than the ones I have seen in Columbus and St. Louis? The food was pretty good but not good enough for the price they charge, especially considering the performance was not as exciting as I was expecting. They also charged us for 9 meals even though 1 person left before the server even came around to take our food and drink orders. My portion with tip was $60 and I did not feel like I got $60 worth of food + entertainment from the 2 hours we were there. read more

She was so beautiful and such a great performer She worked the floor so well making sure everyone had an experience with her during every performance. Dulce Andrews took it a step further and during a break came to chat with us in our limo to see how our experience was while the manager helped take pictures for us. Dulce is the whole package. Lots of fun! Went here on a weeknight. They have a full menu with buy one/get one free entrees (limitations on steaks though). They also have a massive cocktail list. I ordered two of the cocktails which were excellent. The service was great. They also have a coat check. Every 30 minutes or so, a dancer comes out and does a very entertaining show. On the spur of the moment my spouse picked up a Groupon for four at the Kit Kat Lounge. I was all in despite the hour plus drive. We took our friends Gary and Nina to round out the roster. Since we were using a Groupon we ordered from the Groupon menu. You get you choice of two salads, three mains and a dozen cocktails. All of my dinner companions ordered the chicken and waffles, while I alone tried the spinach ravioli. The drinks were prepared by the book, and were definitely not mixed weak. The food was tasty and plated artfully. All of us agreed that it was surprising how good the food and drinks were at an admittedly divey place. The entertainment that night was provided by Miss Tracy Ross. If you've never been to a club like this I recommend it highly. But keep an open mind. read more

OMG, where do I start... Let's just say I will DEFINITELY be going back to Kit Kat Lounge. I will tell you the good and the bad from my night there but overall I think the good was enough for me to decide I will be visiting this lounge again. The bad- so we had 8:30 reservations, got there at 8:30 and still had to wait a good half hour for a table, I definitely was not happy about that but while we waited we sat at the bar and had some AMAZING drinks! The "show" that we went to go see really wasn't a show, we were highly disappointed in that because all it was was a drag walking from one end of the bar to the other lip synching to different songs of her choosing. She would change her wardrobe and had some super awesome outfits but literally was just walking and collecting money for what? Lip synching, that is it! I was expecting something better. The good- Ok, this is were it gets more positive. As I said before, we had to wait for our table but when it was finally ready our server was extremely nice and very apologetic for our wait, he thanked us, sat us and got us going with our order. Customer service was top notch from the moment we walked in, from the greeter at the door to the bartenders to our waiter Luke how was simply amazing. The food was DELICIOUS! We came here with the Groupon special for a 2-course meal + 1 drink during the show. The venue is fun, music is loud, and everyone is singing along which is great. Lots of birthdays, bachelorette parties will probably surround you. The food was nothing special, cooked fine and was pretty standard comfort-y food -- didn't seem to really match with the vibe of the place which was eccentric and club-esque. The 'show' was also not exactly what I expected, but I thought the performer has some great outfits - was hoping for more of a 'show' I guess. Overall, it was a fun one time experience. read more
