I wish I could give it ten stars! This was our favorite meal on Amelia Island. We had burgers, crab cakes, tacos, chicken fingers and hush puppies. Everything was excellent. Just stopped in for a quick lunch between matches at the Racquet Wars tournament. Fabulous service, great food, excellent atmosphere. We got our food really quickly and it was cooked perfectly, and tasted great, but our server Nathaniel was the real star of the show!! Yummy. Cute place on the Marina. Zoey, our wait staff was awesome. I had to appetizer blackened scallops and a bed of spinach octopus and seaweed salad and the smoked fish dip. We sat outside on the deck. They had bug flamers in the background so no bugs. Heaters were there too when it gets cool. For a Friday eve, we had a nice date night. read more

Great spot for watching the sunset during summer months. Some indoor eating but best spot is outside where you can watch the boats and the marina. Bring your bug spray and don't let that keep you away. Food is good too. I recently had a shrimp basket. Came with lots of delicious shrimp, hush puppies and two sides. My friends enjoyed the evening special. We sat and watched the sky turn colors under a nice breeze. Perfect Florida evening. read more

We went there on a recommendation of our charter captain because they will cook the fish (cleaned) that was caught on our recent fishing excursion. The captain told us it was a little pricy but that was ok. The "cook what you catch" meal was $21+ per person. I didn't think it was so bad because it came with two sides, or so I thought. The fish was cooked three different ways. It was very good. We had plenty and ate all the fish. The waitress said "and the sides,? two sides", so we all ordered two sides. I thought that was included in the $21+ price. Boy did my eyes bug out when I received the bill! Each side was $5 or more which that added over $40 to the already pricy bill. After all, we supplied the fish. $85 + $40, plus drinks, water, iced tea, and a couple of beers - can you see where I'm going with this????? I give generous tips and the bill was $190 for four people. I don't think we will be doing that again. read more

Been to Amelia for years and first time eating here. We have been missing out. We had great service and was meet with a smile at the door. Our group had salad, burger, wings, and shrimp. When they said fresh twice a day they meant it. 10 atmosphere and 10 food. Will be at the top of our lost when we return. read more

We took our family of 8 here last evening to celebrate a very special occasion for our son and his family! The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic! Had a great meal here on Friday night. The crab and corn chowder was INCREDIBLE - the best I've ever had anywhere. Crab cakes were just as good - some of the best ever, and easily the best on the island. Also had the fried shrimp basket - very good with tasty crinkle fries. The shrimp were caught locally and it was easy to tell that they were fresh. The prices were reasonable and everyone in my party left full and satisfied! Go NOW - before this secret gets out. Fantastic food and setting. Party of 4, sat outside beneath umbrellas and palms. We started with fish dip and fried clam strips along with draft beer, all very good. I had blackened mahi-mahi with sides of tomato-okra and red beans and rice. Outstanding dish, fish cooked to perfection. Two had a salad topped with salmon, a special. Salmon atop a bed of lettuce, strawberries, honeydew and topped with a vinaigrette. Apparently a wonderful dish, not a morsel left. The final dish was a fried fish-shrimp platter with sides of macaroni and cheese and side salad. Two thumbs up for all three items. All food was cooked perfectly. Will definitely return. read more

Great visit for later lunch on a Wednesday. Only two tables open when we arrived so were promptly seated. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. We opted to share a half & half oyster/shrimp basket and we enjoyed it. Took a while but it came out hot and fresh so very worth the wait. Be glad to go back; server even suggested a return visit, noting that everything on the menu is great. That's the right attitude =! read more

We visited Kitchen 251 today for lunch. The food was terrific! Dana was our server and she was great! The menu is extensive; something for everyone. Two of us had the burger; I could only eat half. The outside dinning area is nice. Our waitress was in training so nothing off for that. The food was just typical AI food that you can get at so many places on the Island. The problem is it was WAY overpriced for what you get. Gotta come down on those prices please. read more

Went here based on a recommendation from my brother-in-law. Been coming to the island for over ten years, and owned a place for almost nine, and somehow never stopped in. Saw it, wondered, but passed it. Well, we will be going back frequently, one of our go-to places on the island. Started with blackened scallop appetizer with teriyaki and sweet chili dipping sauces, along with seaweed slaw. Melt in your mouth. Perfect cook, and enhanced with the blackening rub without overheating. My better half then had the crab cake sandwich with southern potato salad, and she likes her crab cakes. Since Barbara Jean's closed, she has really missed them. Well, she is not missing them any longer. I had the shrimp and oyster poboy. Now I have been to NOLA about twenty times, and had some awesome poboys, but today I had one that was the best I have had. The batter on the oysters was the key. Light and crispy, without overcooking those tender oysters. And the Mayport shrimp were awesome. Ask for some Secret Sauce to go with it. And the collards were just as good. Thanks Michael for putting your heart into every dish you prepare, and thanks Heather for the great service. And we will be back as soon as we can. read more

First time at Kitchen 251. Service was fantastic. We had an oyster po' boy. Oysters were really good. Juicy and fried perfectly. Next time we'll try the oyster basket since there is no need for bread! We also had a fish basket with fried flounder, fries and Mac and cheese. We loved the Awesome views and delicious food. This place has a nice friendly atmosphere and the owners Chef Michael and his wife Ashley were so welcoming to all the customers. Kitchen 251 @kitchen251ai was one of my favorite places for lunch until today. The staff was not wearing masks and the server refused to wear one when we offered a new mask. She was extremely rude and the manager was "too busy" to speak with me. Of course, we left. Where do I begin? Ill start with the positive I guess. The view and restaurant it self has a great atmosphere along with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was sadly underwhelming. For lunch ordered the special which was two fish tacos assuming I couldn't go wrong, right? I was wrong. My dish came out with a mountain of shredded cheese and lettuce with chopped up fish pieces along with a side of white rice covered in butter which costed me 22.95 My boyfriend ordered the fried green tomatoe BLT with a side of french fries. The tomatoes were not green tomatoes. The fries are frozen fries and served with no seasoning, not even salt which costed 13.95, not too bad if was good. So in the end both adult entrees are very bland and disappointing. My two children order chicken fingers and fries. The fries come out the same as the adult entree, very bland. The chicken fingers I kid you not were the size of a grown mans index finger and you got three tenders with no childs beverage included which costed in the end 10.95 each. With three adult beverages my bill came to 75.00 before tip. Mind you Im not a cheap person but I would never again pay for such a boring and disappointing meal here. Took friends there to enjoy the outdoor dining. Food not so good. I asked our server to give me the price of the "peel and eat" shrimp, since it was stated "market price" on the menu. The server told us that it was around $22-$24 a pound. I ordered 1/2 pound, as did my friend. One friend ordered green fried tomatoes and the other a salad. When the bill came, the price for the 1/2 pound of shrimp was $22.95. That would of made a pound of shrimp almost $46. I think that is way overpriced. I went in to speak to the owner as to the outrageous price as well as being misinformed. At first the owner did not want to talk to me, but I pursued it. Finally, the owner came over and told me that was the price of the shrimp because he now has to pay $14 a pound for shrimp at the dock. Not sure he realized what he had just said, but charging $46 for a pound of shrimp is quite a mark up. I told him I was a local and had brought three friends with me to try out his menu. For the price, the food is not good. One good side to the story, since his patrons overheard the complaint, he refunded me my money. read more
