Came here while on vacation and this was a fantastic lunch spot! I'm so happy it we found it! We started with a nice house salad. We decided to get the two house salad dressings. We mixed them together and they were delicious! For lunch: Catfish Po Boy with side of red beans rice: it was a a large serving and every inch was devoured! It was so dang good! Tacos with a side of red beans and rice: one shrimp and one fish taco. Both were so delicious! I wish corn tortilla was and option but no biggie! The side homemade salsa that was served with the tacos was crazy good!! The red beans and rice was delicious- add some hot sauce and it was perfection! What I liked best was the quality of the food/ingredients. This chef/owner does a great job with creating a thoughtful menu for their customers. I liked how not everything was fried and the menu was NOT three pages long! Loved the location of this restaurant.. located on a marina off the main highway. Honestly the simplicity of the food and the quality is outstanding. Their fish special with shrimp is one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Then I tried the Fried Green tomato with a cold beer- Perfect! Not fancy, very casual, but one of the most consistent places on the island. If it wasn't for the awesome views and friendly service, this would easily be lower rating. The food is bland and basic - I would go to Applebees for better food (and I haven't been there in years). Lunch on a weekday was extremely overpriced (even with consideration for post Covid pricing). The specials do not have prices listed but two basic shrimp tacos that comes with a side was around $25. This is definitely not food worthy of that kind of pricing, by a long shot. In fairness, I wouldn't have been happy if they were $12. None of our food was seasoned properly. Even things like rice and beans and butter beans that should be packed with flavor, were really lacking. The seafood seemed fresh though and we saw a local Jacksonville seafood truck delivering food in the parking lot. The crab cakes look great and are 90% crab but also 90% flavorless. Maybe it was a bad day, but I expected much better, especially for a $75 lunch for 2. read more

This restaurant easily deserves 5 stars. My lovely bride and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night over Labor Day weekend, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We decided to sit outside so that we could view the marina and watch the sunset. Service is attentive but not overly so. We started with cups of their famous corn & crab soup, and it merits the fame. We would suggest adding a few drops of Tabasco, sending it to the next level. Then we devoured a 1/2 pound of their peel-n-eat shrimp, which were served warm and fresh, along with a expertly prepared cocktail sauce having a generous portion of horseradish. My lovely bride had the shrimp Po' Boy and I had the oyster Po' Boy; the French bread rolls are perfect for this sandwich. The side dishes nicely complement the Po' Boys -- my wife inhaled the mac-n-cheese and I wolfed down the rice-and-beans. We were so stuffed after dinner that we decided to take home their key lime pie, which is divine. Highly highly recommended. read more

Eat here several times a week, it's the only place around that has true Cajun food along with traditional clam chowder. They do get extremely busy during the vacation season so adjust your schedule accordingly so you won't have to wait too long for seat. They also have great salads. read more

A welcoming hostess and waitresses accommodated our wish to sit outside on the marina deck on a cool and cloudy late afternoon. We came to try the restaurant during restaurant week. One of us ordered the generous and tasty portion of Mahi Mahi with shrimp creole that was served with an enjoyable cup of clam chowder and a decent key lime pie for dessert. The other meal ordered was a delicious pulled pork sandwich from the specials menu. Restaurant week was a great introduction for us to try Kitchen 251. Although we are locals, living only a few minutes away from this restaurant, this was our first time visiting Kitchen 251. We had heard a lot of good things about it, but sadly our experience was anything but enjoyable. We were seated outside, at the table right in front of the live music, which made it impossible to have a conversation. Our waitress didn't come to our table for at least 10 minutes, so by the time that she did finally arrive, we were ready to place our order for food as well as for drinks. We ordered two diet cokes, a burger and a fish sandwich. Our food arrived very quickly, being served by someone other than our waitress. We mentioned to her that we were still waiting for our drinks, as we didn't even have water on the table. This server left and we began to eat our meal. A few minutes passed, we stopped another waitress and asked her to find our waitress for us because we were still waiting for our drinks. By the time that our waitress finally showed up with our sodas, we were more than half way through with our meals. She apologized for the delay, but offered no explanation. As for the food, my burger was mediocre and my husband's fish sandwich was "okay". As if all of this wasn't frustrating enough, there were black flies swarming all the tables, on the deck, making trying to eat very unpleasant. We were hoping this would be an easy, local "go to" restaurant, but sadly we aren't planning to go back. read more

We had friends in from out of state and chose to take them to one of our fave restaurants, both for the food and the view! Went on a CraigCat tour at the Marina, our guide Chris told us his daughter works at K251 and the food is great so we went for lunch. We had a fish and a shrimp taco with red beans and rice. The tacos are so tasty and filling. The red beans and rice were creamy with chunks of sausage. Chris's daughter Emily was our waitress and she was delightful.
