I love a good theme. I especially love when a restaurant is creative enough to implement a theme…read moreand stick with it. The theme at Lost in Taste is space. (Get it? Lost in Taste? Lost in space?) From the shiny chrome restaurant exterior that resembles a space ship, to the menu that has things on it like The Black Hole (a black bean burger) to the Creamy Spudnik Soup (potato cheddar soup, basically). It's all outer space, all the time, at Lost in Taste. I visited Lost in Taste with a group, and we all got a bunch of different things. One of the things that was first on my list to order was a cup of coffee. And even though I was visiting for a late lunch, they had coffee brewed and ready to go. Sweet! That perked me right up. My group got a few different appetizers for the table. We got the Canis Comets, which are huge hush puppies (think palm-sized) served with blackberry jam and round balls of soft, salted butter. They came three to an order, and they were delicious, and definitely enough to feed six people because we cut them in half. Another appetizer we ordered was the Big Bang Shrimp, which was breaded shrimp topped with a drizzle of signature sauce. These were delicious, too! The Big Bang Shrimp come eight to an order. One of the people in our group was a wing aficionado, so we also got the traditional, jumbo, bone-in wings, which are served with chips. There are nine different sauces to choose from, and we got the wings slathered in Jupiter's Storm, a mango habanero sauce. Very good! I don't typically like bone-in wings because I think they are a scam, but I appreciated the sweet and savory flavors of these wings. As for me, I got the Caesar salad (meh) and the B.L.I.T. sandwich: bacon, lettuce, interstellar tomato and mayo. It was very good and huge! If you like bacon, then this is the sandwich for you. Lost in Taste is space themed, but it also has an old-fashioned diner vibe. It's a fun restaurant to visit if you want diner food, and also be surrounded by space.

Friendly staff, the pasta and steak were good. Salad was nice. Menu was not accurate for what was…read moreactually served and the respective waitress didn't seem to be sure. "Chicken or steak & shrimp" should mean you get shrimp with either a choice of chicken or steak and the same thing but with SuperNova and the description saying special spices, I didn't taste any special spices but maybe they were there? The waitress mentioned that supernova included the shrimp with either the steak or chicken. I got the steak but not the shrimp. I didn't ask about the shrimp part afterward and was just annoyed at the entire ordering process. The root beer float R2B2 I couldn't taste any orange Fanta if it was added in. Nice place and great hang out for sports games. Used to be a diner and they changed it up to reflect the theme. I like what they are doing even with the nice space stickers on the table. The menu needs to reflect wording better here.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other couples deserve to know about our experience…read more We had Fish Hawk Catering booked for our daughter's 220 guest wedding. About 3-4 months before the wedding, I asked if we could add a second appetizer to our final tasting, and I specifically offered to pay for it. I understood what was included in the tasting and was simply asking to purchase an additional appetizer so we could make our final decision. It was a simple bruschetta appetizer--nothing elaborate--and I even explained that I was sure I wasn't the first mother of the bride to ask for an additional tasting item. I truly didn't feel it was an unreasonable request. Unfortunately, the conversation with the assistant, Sheree, became uncomfortable very quickly. She insisted no exceptions would be made. I even explained that if I were dining in their restaurant, I could simply order and pay for an appetizer, so I was only asking to do the same for our tasting. I remained calm and respectful throughout the discussion and explained that my goal was to maintain a positive working relationship as we approached the wedding. As someone who has spent my career working with the public, I understand that not every request can be accommodated. What matters is how those situations are handled. When I asked to speak with the owner, Dale, I explained that I didn't want this to become an issue because we needed to work well together as we finalized plans for one of the biggest days of our daughter's life. Rather than discussing the situation or trying to find a resolution, he simply told me he was canceling our contract and would return our deposit. He did return the deposit, but he never reached out afterward to discuss the situation or attempt to make things right. Being dropped only a few months before a 220-person wedding over such a minor request was incredibly stressful. My daughter was devastated, and we were suddenly left without one of the most important vendors for her wedding. In my opinion, that was extremely unprofessional. Thankfully, our wedding planner, Brittany with Brittany Anne Events, immediately stepped in and found us an incredible replacement. Christine at The Stone House Catering was everything you hope for in a wedding vendor--professional, accommodating, kind, and genuinely invested in making our day special. The food was outstanding, and she personally visited every table during dinner to make sure our guests were enjoying their meal. Avery, owner of Dish'd, created a beautiful cocktail hour that our guests are still talking about, and she also catered a wonderful brunch for our wedding party. Both women went above and beyond, and because of them, our daughter's wedding day was absolutely perfect. One final disappointment came after the wedding. Several vendors made me aware that Sheree continued contacting them and speaking negatively about me. I was told she referred to me as "a piece of work" (or "a peach") and even suggested that I was somehow responsible for another vendor's decision to step away from the wedding industry. That accusation is completely untrue and honestly left me speechless. Throughout every interaction with Fish Hawk, I remained calm, respectful, and made every effort to de-escalate the situation. I know I can be direct, but I never raised my voice or treated anyone disrespectfully. For those conversations to continue after our business relationship had ended--and even after my daughter's wedding was over--was deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, another example of unprofessional conduct. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed it would be because we were surrounded by vendors who genuinely cared about us and treated our family with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Fish Hawk Catering to any bride or couple planning one of the most important days of their lives. Reliability, communication, and professionalism matter, and sadly, that was not our experience with Fish Hawk Catering.
