Beef short rib with mash potatoes and veggies
    Maria C.

We arrived on a Saturday at about 5pm as a party of nine and seated promptly by the very kind waitress. For my first time visiting, my impression of the interior of the restaurant is that it was very spacious and clean. I ordered the beef short rib with mash potatoes and steamed veggies. It was very savory and filling and for a very decent price. The only downside to our experience is that the restaurant seemed understaffed as there was only one chef and one waitress this evening. So it did take a bit longer for our food to come out. The chef did a great job, however, and everyone in our group was pleased with their orders. For a group of eight or more in a party, gratuity is automatically included in the bill which the waitress clearly communicated to us before ordering. Overall, it was a good experience

The inside of the restaurant is nice and open. They have regular coffee only. My wife had the California Benny. The hash browns were cold and the eggs were a little under cooked. I had the Classic Benny and the most of the potatoes were burnt and cold. They should have not been served like that. I asked the waitress for fresh potatoes and she brought them after I finished the eggs. My poached eggs were also a little under cooked. The French toast was very good! They were the highlight of the meal. The food needs to be checked before it goes to the table. No one should be served cold and burned food.

Kitchen 46 Restaurant & Bar is a fairly new eatery at Liberty Station in Point Loma. The ownership has remained unchanged from the predecessor business. They decided to rebrand the former breakfast focused spot into this full-service restaurant with longer operating hours. Parking was plentiful in the shared lot with its neighbors. A few tables were set up in front of the suite for outdoor dining. The inside seating arrangement looked the same as before with a few spots at the bar when you walked in combined with numerous small tables. I was the sole diner during a recent weeknight visit. The two-page food menu was made up of American fare across the categories of appetizers, soups, salads, subs, wraps, pizzas, entrees, pasta, seafood, poultry, and desserts. Everything cost under $30 except for the filet mignon which made sense. If the kitchen offered more steak and/or pork entrees, then that would have easily increased the menu prices. The Seafood Pomodoro was my selection. It consisted of angel hair pasta with jumbo prawns, scallops, chopped tomato, fresh basil, garlic, and olive oil. There were four to five pieces each of the prawns and scallops. The noodles were cooked perfectly as the angel hair variety can easily be overdone because of its thin diameter. Using just olive oil instead of a creamy or heavy sauce was ideal as that made the dish easier to consume without feeling too full. I gave a four star rating for my dinner at Kitchen 46 Restaurant & Bar.

I was here last night! I am extremely impressed on how clean this place is let's start there! Right when we arrived we got seated the young lady working there was super nice and very welcoming. We got our drinks and took a look at the menu they have alot of varieties of delicious food. We tried the calamari super good and crunchy I really liked the dipping sauce they have after that we ordered bone in wings and the sauce was amazing we also had the sliders since my little daughters decided to have dinner with me and it was pretty good! The young lady that was helping us was making sure our table was good and was good taken care of! We also ordered the shrimp pasta Alfredo and couldn't complain! We will be coming back soon because it was super good! Great customer service and delicious food clean restaurant! 10/10

Adorably decorated. Bright and airy. Reasonably priced. Good service. Tasty treats. Fresh -- seemingly homemade items.

Service was terrible. Food was good. Got an omelette that was cold. Asked one of the servers for a coffee refill and got the nastiest look.

Great food and service. Meatloaf legit. Will be back. Ambiance kinda stark, more like a diner vibe.

    How's their pasta?

I had a pasta dish - the shrimp and pesto pasta. I was given a choice and chose the olive oil rather than the creamy pesto. It was a very large portion, but it was overly dry and really not edible. I did not take the leftover pasta home.

Before we arrived, I mentioned that I was taking out someone special, and the staff went above and beyond to make the night unforgettable. My date looked absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere couldn't have been more perfect. We enjoyed fresh oysters, amazing cocktails, and spent the evening watching vintage movies by the pool. It felt like stepping into another era--relaxed, romantic, and effortlessly cool. Our servers were attentive without ever being intrusive, and their warmth elevated an already incredible night. It's rare to find a place where the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere all come together so perfectly. This is a night I'll never forget, and I'm already hoping this becomes the place where we celebrate future moments together. Thank you to everyone at Ponyboy for helping create a special evening.

She kept drinks filled and food coming. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. The BaHa oysters were juicy and smooth. The corn bread with guava butter stole the show. The guava butter is sweet and savory with a unique blend of delicious flavors. The roasted Brussels sprouts were fresh, cooked to perfection and tasty topped with parm. Easy 5 star experience! I recommend highly and will definitely return.

Parking is a nightmare good luck finding parking within a mile of the restaurant. Pros: atmosphere, drinks, service Cons: food wasn't great for the price, restaurant was small and crowded, no parking Service: All of our servers were friendly and very accommodating. Gave us some knowledge on the menu and recommended cocktails based on our preference. I had spilled my drink and they were quick to make me another one. Food: I had intended to get the prime ribeye cap steak but they ran out for the night around 8pm. I shared the steak sampler which came with four different cuts of steak and 4 sauces. I ordered medium and it was cooked medium/medium rare which was fine with me, it also had a good sear, almost burnt though. Out of the four steaks, we only liked two based off flavor and tenderness. The other two were more tough and gamey. None of the sauces really stood out but the bordelaise and horseradish were good. For our sides we got fries, roasted broccoli, and the grilled wedge salad. Fries were average. The roasted broccoli had really good flavor, I expected the broccoli to be al dente but it was cooked to mush and drenched in sauce. The grilled wedge salad was decent, there was a slightly bitter taste to it. I know it says grilled wedge but the experience of biting into the salad and it being both hot and cold was not pleasant. Cocktails: I tried the Honey Ryder and New Wave. These were recommended as the more fruity/sweet cocktails. You can definitely taste the alcohol but it's only 2oz so it's not too strong. Ambience: 10/10 I got seated downstairs by the bar. Only thing about downstairs is that it's too dark to take photos unless you use flash. Overall, I agree with the other reviews saying to go just for drinks and appetizers. I would go again just to sit upstairs and get drinks and take pictures. We left unsatisfied and ended up getting in-n-out after.

Definitely a 5-star experience for me.

Make a reservation if you know this is your destination. They have some spot on Tiki decor and the staff here is really friendly, happy to share their favorite drinks, or make suggestions based on your likes. If fruity drinks are not your jam... what are you doing in a Tiki Bar!! No really, they have great options for on the rocks or straight as well as ordering your favorite cocktail or beer. They have a ton of options, all sorts of alcohol bases depending on what your vice is, they also have non-alcoholic drinks for those so inclined. Hard to pass on a Mai Tai or a Zombie to start your evening off. lately I have been enjoying the Eastern Sour which is their take on a whiskey sour. It's always fun when someone orders a bowl and the room shakes and the lights flash with thunder and lightning adding a bit of excitement for first timers. Just to recap: Don't get mad if you have to wait and did not make a reservation. While they have lots of options, most drinks and all specialties are Tiki Drinks. Tiki drinks can be strong, mind yourself. If a place like this is not your vibe, that is fine, head back into Craft & Commerce, make room for others who are waiting to get in, just have fun!
