Went in about 3ish today during World Cup and padres game. Place was packed as expected. Sat at the bar, which was full, and more than half of the people at the bar had empty or no drinks at all. Bar staff were super low energy, not friendly, very dismissive. Took twenty minutes to get a simple beer (feel bad for people who wanted mix drinks, forget about it) Beers are $15 Staff does bare minimum The place sucks every time we go and that's not often. Ate at the bar tops and the bartenders were very helpful and they went above and beyond to accommodate my food allergies. The vibe was chill and the drinks and service were great. PRO TIP: Just be aware that there are no servers at the bar tops, and you have to go over to the bar to order. It wasn't obvious so we waited a bit before we figured that out and others around us also seemed confused by that too. I recommend that the host tells people as they go to the bar. We got an amazing table at the front of the bar, facing the sea. We were just here for a couple of drinks, and so the lack of vegan options didn't frustrate us. I was happy to find that they had 3 sours on rotation and the sour the server recommended was great. My husband got a orange flavored Hefeweizen and that was pretty good too! I recently visited Draft House for Taylor Swift trivia. We had such a good time! First of all, the views are fantastic! We were able to see the beautiful sunset and obviously the beach/ocean. 10/10! The food was pretty decent, just a tad pricey, but they were having a special .50¢ wings and it was delicious! Also, was so crazy to see that they have a 1lb mozzarella stick lol! My friend got to try it and he said it was good! They have a large selection of drinks, they carry one of my favs which is the Mother Earth so, it was great! The place is HUGE! They have so many tables and sitting areas, we were on a booth and I have to say, it's pretty comfortable. Our service was attentive and fast too. We loved this place because we could bring our pups INSIDE and they chilled under our table. We had really great service, and fast for both drinks and food. This is a tough one. My wife and I were looking for a place to take the kids to eat after spending all day at the zoo. We were all pretty hungry. So we went Belmont park and found Draft. Place looked awesome with incredible views of the beach and it was fairly empty. But to our surprise when we tried to get a table the hostess told us that there was a wait list??? Pictures are the empty tables. Seriously, you could see about 10 open tables and they don't take reservations. That was really off putting. So we sat around for 15 minutes until they finally sat us and when they did all those tables were still open. I was also rather disappointed in the beer selection. For a place called draft there were only about 4 premium beer options . On the upside the steak we ordered was pretty good and we got to watch a beautiful sunset. If I was gunna give them the benefit of the doubt I could reason that they were probably short staffed so they were staggering the customer seating. I wish they would have just said that. Or they could have sat us and told us to please be patient. But to be frank, it really felt like the three teen hostesses were acting like conceded immature kids having some fun making people wait. It wasn't a good look having three of them standing around doing nothing either. I hope this place figures out what they're doing wrong. We wandered in on Saturday early afternoon following a nice long walk on the beach after brunch. We were thirsty and found a couple of stools at the bar. College football was playing on all the many TVs. There are an amazing number of beer choices but We felt like Negronis would hit the spot! The bartender said he would check on the supply of Campari. Draft gives casual, beach vibes literally steps from the sand. They have a large bar and indoor / outdoor seating with open garage door type windows looking out to the beach. It's a feel the sand on the floor beach bar. They don't have too many outdoor tables, but the open air feel was fine when sitting inside. We still had great ocean views. They have huge TVs and screens, perfect for sporting events. First impressions were great, as there was a considerable wait just to speak to a hostess and get our name on the list. They had two hostesses, but only one iPad...so only one was useful. It was a longer wait in line to speak to hostess than the actual wait for a table. They said 15 mins and it was ready in 5. Our actual server was good though. Food: The brunch burrito is huge! My husband said it was good, however, the ingredients weren't mixed well so all the egg was on one side. The Chicken club was great and the fries were crispy and seasoned. Kids grilled cheese, french toast, and chicken tenders were all well liked. My wife organized an event at Draft and they reserved some tables for her at the patio. It was an awesome event and people loved being next to the beach! They also loved the food and service as well. Even though it was super busy because of trivia and wing night, our server Lexi was awesome! She had a great attitude, very friendly and helpful. Everytime a new guest showed up, she was ready to help them in any way. My wife was so happy how the night went. We've eaten here before and always liked the food. So "Draft"; we went for the big DRAFT beer selection, over 50 beers "On Draft". Good things to say about Draft, but first a very funny but very annoying thing. There was a Surcharge for "DRAFT Beer" ! So the possible fine print disclosure aside, am I the only one to find it so ultimately ironic that they have a surcharge for ordering the very thing the bar is named for? Just as funny, it costs the bar less per serving for draft beer than bottles. Imagine a Taco shop that sells you a burrito but has a "Taco Surcharge"! This is the first restaurant right on the corner when you're walking to the beach and ocean. They have sandwiches, salads, shareables and lots of beer choices. We ordered a chicken club sandwich and a Cobb salad, and it was enough for 3 of us to share -- and we even had a bit left over. All of it was really good, although the sandwich was a little spicy. My family and I went to Draft for my niece's birthday. I was unfortunately harassed by 4 men who thought it was okay to say the most vile things while waiting outside for everyone to arrive. When we got sat, the waitress immediately came over, apologized, and asked those men to leave. We hadn't brought it to their attention at all. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a Sunday around 5pm for some food. The restaurant has a lovely view of the beach and even though we sat inside, we had a great view from our table as the sun was setting. It was a game day, so we got their game day special: $10 carnitas nachos and shrimp ceviche. The nachos were awesome, but the ceviche was just okay. We've visited this area several times over the years while on vacation and Draft has been a great go to spot. If you're hanging out on the beach and want a good selection of local beers and a nice mix of dishes this is it. I love their truffel fries and dry rub wings. Someone always picks the steak frites and the chimichuri sauce it comes with is spot on. The staff is quick and friendly and even when there's a wait the crowd seems to flow smoothly. This place used to be one of my favorite to take friends and family. The place continue to just go down the drain with the service, food and drinks. I tipped the waitress just because they expected to be tipped, but I shouldn't had to do so. Just because of the view of the beach they believe the nice view will always compensate for the bad experiences. The restaurant operates with only fried food now and don't dare ask for any topical sauce besides ketchup, ranch, blue cheese, or mayonnaise. When it comes to mixed drinks don't dare ask for one unless you want a glass full of ice and no alcohol in it. In my case the "The mojito Gives you wing" was not a mojito but a waste of my money. I wish there was something positive to say about the location but my time wasted waiting 25 minutes for a table with freezing temperatures, I would never get it back. I hope they change because it's a great location to have what it used to be a great dining and drink experience. read more

I came to Draft Mission Beach specifically for the advertised anime trivia night that promoted "50¢ wings all night." This promotion was publicly posted with the restaurant's name and address, so it was reasonable to expect the deal to be honored. However, when we arrived, we were told the wing special was no longer available. Many people appeared to have come for this promotion, which made the situation feel misleading and poorly communicated. During the evening, I also noticed water dripping from the ceiling in multiple areas around the bar and nearby tables. While it appeared to be condensation, it was occurring in several spots and created an uncomfortable atmosphere in a food and beverage environment. Service overall was extremely disappointing. Staff did not seem prepared for the crowd or the confusion surrounding the promotion, and there was little effort made to address concerns or offer alternatives. At times it was difficult to get acknowledgment when attempting to place an order. When asking about the wing promotion, one bartender with a ponytail responded in a way that felt dismissive and rude, which added to the frustration of the experience. That said, one bartender named Lance stood out for providing attentive and professional service, which was appreciated. Overall, the combination of misleading advertising, poor service, and visible maintenance issues made for a very disappointing experience. I hope management improves communication around promotions and addresses facility upkeep moving forward. read more

Came to Draft South Mission for the oceanfront vibe, and honestly, that part delivered. Seated quickly, great table, amazing view of Mission Bay, and the Mai Tai was actually pretty solid. Then the fish and chips arrived. I'm still trying to process what happened in that kitchen. Imagine taking a small piece of fish, wrapping it lovingly in toast, then introducing it briefly to heat and calling it "fish and chips." It was less "crispy beer-battered seafood masterpiece" and more "sad cafeteria experiment during budget cuts." For a place sitting on the water, serving fish this tragic feels almost rebellious. Overall, for only about $50 for fish and chips and a Mai Tai, what was I expecting? Flavor? Texture? A fish that remembered the ocean? Beautiful location. Great drink. We came here a few days ago during lunch time. It was pretty busy like about 2/3 of the restaurant filled. When we arrived, we saw a table by the patio open, thought it would be great for the 3 of us. We asked the hostess if that's available to us. She said yes but we needed to wait 15min. We found this odd because the table was clean, set, and ready. So, why had us stood there to wait 15min? A star off here because my daughter was getting hungry and didn't know why we weren't able to be seated at the open/ready table. After we sat down though, everything went smoothly. Our server was very attentive, patient and friendly. Too bad I didn't get her name, she was wearing a cap that day. We ordered their rose sparkling champagne; it was reasonably priced and tasty. We ordered their burger in lettuce wraps instead of buns. It took a long time for them to bring it to us; however, everything was fresh and cooked nicely. We also ordered their ice cream, that came out fast and my husband and daughter finished in seconds. It would have been a perfect experience if we didn't need to wait for 15min unreasonably. First time here for the Miracle Pop Up Bar! I love Christmas and this was my first ever Christmas themed bar~ it was a great experience. Went here on a Friday night and I was surprised it wasn't packed, but we were seated immediately. There's plenty of seating indoor and outdoor, and we were impressed with how well-decorated it was for the holidays! Food was standard, I will say the Parmesan truffle fries are definitely worth getting. We went for the holiday drinks which were yummy and unique but for the price of $17-18, I thought the serving would be much larger at least. There's also a $5 hidden surcharge that we didn't know about. Because we came here at night, parking was not an issue at all. It's right by the beach/belmont park so it is in between 2 parking lots. We were worried about sitting outside but luckily it was lined with heaters so that was nice. Oh wow what a great spot! Right on the beach the view is stunning and there is plenty of seats inside, outside and at the bar with TVs! Came from breakfast and although the menu is limited what we ordered turned out to be incredible! My egg white scramble was delicious and the Bloody Mary had excellent flavor with the perfect amount of spice. What really stood out to us was the breakfast potatoes! They are delicious and loaded with flavor. Definitely the highlight of the breakfast. Service was great and the view was great, definitely a great spot to check out. read more

The restaurant is larger than I expected, with an outdoor patio area that was closed the day my friend and I met there for lunch, because it was one of the few days where we experienced "weather" in San Diego: strong, gusty, cold winds and a tiny bit overcast. The food was decent, nothing that really wowed us, with the exception of the 1 lb. cheese stick (me: that has to be a typo, right? As in, they serve one pound of mozzarella sticks? my friend: no, I think it's really one long cheese stick, weighing in at a pound...? Turns out he was right, it's legit one giant log of breaded and fried cheese served with marinara sauce.) I went with the Bacon & Blue burger ($16), my friend got the West Coast burger ($18), and - at his insistence - we got the 1 lb. cheese stick ($16). And I just have to pause for an aside: the cheese stick cost just as much as my burger, y'all! What can I say about that stick of cheese? It wasn't as big as we thought it'd be (insert lewd sophomoric joke here), and it tasted...normal? I point that out because the waitress talked it up, told us it's made from an artisanal cheese, crafted to perfection and served with exceptional sauces. She assured us it was worth it, and delightful. What we got? Very much not that. I took a couple of bites but was pretty underwhelmed by it. My friend liked it more and ended up taking what was left home with him. The burger was also quite normal, the standout there was the bacon, which was of a thicker cut and cooked to a good crisp. But the best thing about the plate were the fries, for sure. The bacon was crispy, sure. But the fries? The fries were golden, salty perfection. I think I spent more time crunching on the pommes than I did noshing on the burger. Our waitress was friendly enough but was clearly in need of help, because she was the only one working the floor that day and the floor was busy with lots of big groups. We had to flag her down a couple of times to request our check, which took a long time getting to us. Normally it would have been fine - we were still chatting and hanging out - but we also both had to get back to work that afternoon and were on a bit of a timeline. Last thing I'll mention: Google maps had them opening at noon, but they'd clearly been open for at least an hour by the time I walked in, so maybe don't put a whole lot of stock into what Google has for their operating hours. read more
