The food here was awesome. As you can see I got the fish sandwich. Which was amazing. The view out back was awesome, came there and watched the sunset with some friends. Couldn't have been more of a beautiful setting. The girl working the counter was AMAZING! Her name was Kerin. She knew so much about the place and recommended some great stuff. Charli's was on a list of best burgers in San Diego. So when a buddy of mine called up and said let's go eat, I mentioned Charli's. I had never been and neither had he, so why not try something new. It's in a great location near Mission Bay. Parking is ample, so definitely makes getting there easier. You order at the counter, and they call you when it's ready. I ordered a cup of the clam chowder. This was really good! Nice clam pieces too! Though I felt $6.50 for a cup was pretty steep. I ordered the Burrito with carne asada. This was ginormous! Good portion of meat with rice and beans inside. Daveed said the burger was really good and liked the nice crispy fries. The staff is friendly! They have a great outdoor patio with a view of the boats. There was a tour group waiting to head out to go whale watching. Definitely worth coming to and I've added it to my rotation. Stopped by on our way home from Sea World. My husband goes there when he fishes so he knew the spot. He had the smashburger with homemade pickles and onion rings. Onion rings were soo good. Fried (battered) fish tacos were amazing with the red salsa. Fish is huge and fresh. Tortillas were big and soft (i prefer a little dip and fry in the oil so they dont break) but all in all delish. Ladies behind the counter were so friendly and lovely. We ordered a smash burger with frings, fish tacos and guacamole with chips to share. We came here on a whim and I'm very thankful we tried it. We went with the fish tacos and fish and chips. After my experience at a different restaurant with fish tacos, I was impressed with these. You get to choose if you want grilled or fried fish and you get to choose the taco type of corn vs flour. I went with the grilled fish flour taco and it was so well seasoned with a spicy sauce on top. I think I would have preferred a little less sauce on top or maybe put it on the side for optimal fish taste, but it was a good second fish taco experience. Before a boat day food is necessary and I have actually heard about this spot before so it was cool to finally discover it. The menu is small but wow the pricing is great especially for how much food you get with it. I ordered mine to go to enjoy on the boat but some of our friends got it to eat there before hand and I was able to steal some bites that were super good! There is a small outside seating area that it seems like many people come to and enjoy some breakfast or lunch and many with their dogs. I ordered a carne asada burrito which came with a little side of chips and salsa and it was super filling, enough for myself and my husband to share. They also have drinks for brunch here with beer and wine options all very reasonably priced considering how close to the water you are. Fish N' Chips: Great Fish N' Chips, Batter is seasoned and tastes great, a step up from other places we have had. Beef Tallow is used and adds to the flavor of the Onion Rings and Fries. Flavorful taste pairs well with fish. Great service, turn time was not too long, Seating outside along port boardwalk and some under awning. Another amazing breakfast at Charli's. After our first trip we had to come back and try it out again. Their breakfast sandwich and breakfast burger are amazing. The sausage tasted like it had rosemary today, it was flavorful and savory. The crunch from the hash brown just adds something extra. The breakfast burger is melty and gooey with the cheese, sauce, and sautéed onions. Love they top it off with their homemade pickles. Onions rings were crispy and fries were perfectly salted. Ordered lunch from here as I was using the marina conference rooms. Upon first glance, I realized the menu is pretty basic and nothing is really different that would bring me there if I wasn't already there. Alas, I was hungry and needed fuel for my training. I at first was going to order the chicken Caesar wrap, but after making the option of wrap and chicken, I saw it took my total to over 18.00! So, I opted for the chicken strips and onion rings which were almost 14. The chicken strips were crunchy and the onion rings good, but again, it wasn't anything that would keep me choosing this place over any other place I can get chicken strips from. The place itself is more of a small hole in the wall that you order at and then eat outdoors, with some tables nearby. The outdoor ambiance was nice, but the bay crowded with boats, so not much of a "view" but being outside the air was fresh. Myself and my colleagues ordered our food at the same time, with my colleagues ordering tacos, and my order was on time but theirs was late and the line was long for pick up. Their tacos looked basic, and one of my other colleagues ordered the Caesar salad and it looked fresh. We didn't really interact with the employees other than to have them call our names for the to-go orders. Overall I wouldn't go back unless doing another training at the marina park conference rooms and having that my only option. I would recommend expanding the menu a bit as everything they offered there could be bought for cheaper at other locations. read more

I recently visited Charlie's Landing while waiting for a well watching tour to start and had the chicken burrito. It was pretty good--great flavor and satisfying portion. The chicken was tender, and the overall taste was balanced, making for a solid choice. The chips were fresh and crispy, and the salsa that came with them was flavorful. However, I was expecting a bit more heat. It had a nice taste, but it was lacking that spicy kick that I usually enjoy with my salsa. Wow, a very unassuming place from the outside but a really nice meal. I had the veggie burrito and a pomegranate mimosa. The burrito was $11 and was huge! It comes in a griddled tortilla. Saw a video recommending this place. I'm picky about breakfast being good and reasonably priced. This place is very unassuming, but delivered big time on breakfast. The breakfast sandwich with a whole hash brown in it is so good! I got mine with sausage and it was so homey but elevated on the bun. I added cholula to mine for a little kick. We also got the avocado toast which was more of an open faced sandwich. It was so loaded up you had to use a fork and knife. The balsamic, pickled onion and bacon were delicious. They have coffee, teas, to-go lunch and sides and you can eat outside on their patio enjoying the calm bay and boats. They'll call when your order is ready, but we came about 9:30am on a Sunday and it was not busy- the server came out and delivered the food! Charli's Landing is the replacement business for another fast-casual waterfront eatery that had operated out of Seaforth Marina in Mission Beach. One of the first things that struck me was the pleasant attitude of the employees which was a stark contrast to its predecessor. You order at the service counter inside the suite and then if you wanted to dine on-site, there were several tables under a covered outdoor deck. The menu was fairly basic but suited the needs of those who wanted to spend a day on or near the water. There were five breakfast choices, nine lunch/dinner options, and four items on the kids menu. I showed up just before the start of the lunch hour and asked if I could order the Grilled Fish Tacos. The kitchen accommodated my request even though it was still late breakfast time which I appreciated. Two flour tortillas were each stuffed with a whitefish fillet, slaw, baja sauce, pico de gallo, and cotija cheese. A side of tortilla chips and green salsa came with the order. These grilled fish tacos were the largest I have eaten in a while, and the serving size justified the $15 price. I consumed one of the juicy tacos on the spot and then saved the other for later. This place is truly a hidden gem! I was shopping at Seaforth Sportfishing next door for some last minute fishing gear before heading on a boat rental. Since we were going to be out on the water for a couple hours I thought it would be a good idea to grab something to-go since it was already close to noon. That was the best decision I've made in a long time because I think I just discovered the best fish tacos in San Diego. This taco beats all the Mexican shops I have gone to. The biggest difference I can tell is the way they fry their fish. At all the other shops, I can really taste the oil on the fish but this one isn't oily at all. Something about this fish taco is extremely fresh. The ratio of the toppings were just right and the flavors were just excellent! They have an outdoor patio with a great view of the boat docks and plenty of seating. This seems like a newly opened establishment as everything seemed new and clean. I really really want to come back here and try their other menu items. Their menu looks small but like the other review said, everything is quality. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Today was our second visit. We loved the previous establishment here and were sad to see it go out of business. We were excited Charli's Landing had taken their place. The first time we came we ordered fish and chips and a smash burger with onion rings. Both were excellent. Today I came on here to comment on the fish sandwich we ordered - wow!! Walking along the marina, we were getting hungry. The place was cacant last tine we came, so im not sure how long theyve been open. No inside seating available, but they had umbrellas at some tables. We enjoyed the shade on a warm afternoon. Bathrooms were clean which is unusual if they are public bathrooms. I'm not sure if they are for the restaurant only. I think I'd call it American food, although my hubby had the fried shrimp burrito. I'm not gonna lie, it didn't sound great but it was actually very tasty. Totally would order that again.
