While staying at the resort, we checked Barefoot bar and grill out twice for dinner. First, the location is amazing as it's on the bay and has awesome views of the bay especially at sunset. Both times, however the place looked like it had many open tables outside but we had to wait about 20 to 30 minutes to grab a table. Service was good though each of the wait staff did look like they had a lot of tables. One big plus is that they do have live music here sometimes which can be great to distract your children. The prices here are pricey. This was my main dislike about the spot. Over the course of two dining times, I tried the Poké ball which was absolutely delicious and the tuna was super fresh. However, it was over $30. The second time I tried the strawberry watermelon salad, which was also super fresh and tasty, but was $19 with no protein. Margaritas were $19+. My children were very happy with their meals. The kids menu is about $13.99 and has options of quesadilla, mac & cheese, chicken, finger, sort of things. Both times my kids ordered the mac & cheese, and it came with a huge portion of fruit. The second time we split some apps as well and tried the Ahi Poke Nachos and the pretzel. Definitely recommend the nachos as they were super fresh flavorful and a great portion. The pretzel was good but sort of standard. Both were in the $20-$25 range which for that sort of thing I thought was a bit much. All in all, I think this is a great spot to grab a casual meal by the bay but you are paying resort prices. read more

We stayed at paradise point for a night ($800 a night) and our plan was to eat here for dinner. They take walk ins but reservations were not available. We walked up after a day of fun and we were told they were booked for a private event and they weren't taking any more walk ins. What. How are you going to shut down the only family restaurant on the entire resort? Anyway. We went to the board walk and had a great time anyway. NOW, we went there for breakfast the next morning. Let me say the breakfast was great- but an absolute rip off. We ordered the kids meal pancakes for $11 for my daughter and I ordered the "house made buttermilk pancakes" for $22. To my surprise, they were the EXACT SAME PORTION SIZE. Literally. 3 small 4inch pancakes with maybe two cut strawberries and syrup. Tell me why mine and my daughter's meal were the exact same size, but mine was twice the price as hers? The waitress literally handed my daughter her "kids pancakes" and then handed me my "adult pancakes" which were literally the exact same thing. What. The. Fak. No side of anything extra, no fancy big pancakes or anything else. Just the same exact damn meal as my daughter's kids pancakes for $22. I wanted to go to the manager and ask why they rip off customers, but my wife asked me to just let it go and not ask about it. But seriously, I definitely got ripped off. read more

Love this waterfront spot on Vacation Isle! Great mix of locals, boaters and tourists, and one of my favorite places for the Christmas boat parade. Perfect for a beer, tacos or burger while watching fish, rays and even sharks swim around the inlet. Food and service are just okay, but the location and laidback vibe make it worth it! read more

While visiting the resort yesterday we decided to order from here while using the adults pool for the day. Their food is really good! Great selection for sure. I did not receive an item I had ordered on my meal which was a little bit of a bummer (since we paid for it). But the biggest bummer we experienced was the ordering aspect. I understand if you are staying at the resort, you can call from your room for delivery. I called and the woman I spoke to was very nice. I explained we were at the resort for the day because we used the spa for services and was at the adults pool. We had wanted to order from Barefoot Bar for delivery to the pool. She stated she needed a room number and guided me to scan the QR code on our pool key to order for delivery. That made zero sense because it guided me right back to the same number to call as I was talking to. There should be a way someone can order food for delivery on the property even if you dont have a room. I hope this type of option can be made for future customers. read more

This place was great with delicious food, attentive servers, and a relaxing view. I had the Avocado Toast which was so yummy! On a sourdough slice, the avocado paired really well with the peppers and egg. I did feel like it needed a little something so I added some salt and pepper which is available at every table. The side of fruit was also good. The food here is a little bit pricey, but it was good. As for the service, our server was nice and great! He regularly checked in on us to ensure everything was going smoothly, refilling waters/coffee. At the end he offered to take a group photo of us when we were taking a selfie. Very nice. The hostess was also very nice and helped create a welcoming environment. The vibe was great. I loved the beautiful ocean view. We got the wing and nacho appetizers to share and they were pretty good!! Wings were standard wings and a decent size. The nachos however were pretttty freaking delicious. Meat was well seasoned and the cheese sauce was super yummy. Not too spicy and jalapeños were easy to pick off if you don't like 'em. View was great especially during sunset. Lots of birds tho! Flying in and around the restaurant. So beware if you don't want that lol. Service could've been better as the servers were kind of slow and not very attentive. Great view of the bay as well as a beach access if you wanna lounge service was great and bartenders remembered what we ordered from the previous night, which was awesome. We went a couple of times while we were there but only once ordered food we decided on the nachos which were OK but I think they would've been better if we would've added Kearny Asada or something like that because they did look a lot better when we saw others come out so if we ever went again and ordered them, that's what we would do.. they also had live music on one of the nights which was nice . Prices are a little on the higher side, but that's what you can expect on eating at the resorts and all we definitely go again. read more

The location is fantastic, used to be the old Vacation Village resort. Rented a boat for a day of fishing, utilized the public courtesy docks and stopped at noon to grab lunch here. As a former SoCal resident and fisherman, I've always wanted to visit this location as there is a little lagoon connected where fishermen will release awesome fish and stuff so they can live in the lagoon! Big yellowtail, lobsters, etc. are in there to observe. Amb is a 5 out of 5. Service was great as well, drinks always full. Food on the other hand not the reason you go there. I had the $28 burger. We were there on a Saturday noon. There were plenty of open seats, and they have a clean restroom. There were not any towels in the restroom though The staff was ok but were a bit anxious to get the orders, and w big odd if you ask me. I got a open faced chicken sandwich. The sandwich had only one piece of bread, but man it was DELICIOUS. The chicken was super crispy and the sauce was tasty. My wife's H was libut sandwich was ok. She liked everything else but the actual fish and thought the fish could have cooked better. We got hotdogs for my son. The food was great.. the service dismal! We were a group of six, the restaurant was 50% full. Our server who didn't have a name tag treated us as though we were an imposition. Approached our table no greeting just did you want something to drink or are you ready to order. We ordered beverages and when she returned ordered lunch. Four new tables were seated after we ordered and every single one was served lunch before we were. Our very simple lunch took 42 minutes to be served. Again the server acted as though we were bothering her when I got up to inquire where our food was. We've eaten here a number of times and have always enjoyed it. Today we had our family who had just arrived from Portugal with us and we were disappointed in the server's attitude toward us. Barefoot Bar & Grill at Paradise Point - Friday, July 3rd, around 1:30 p.m. We had just checked into Paradise Point and were excited to kick off our Fourth of July weekend with lunch at the Barefoot Bar & Grill. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most disappointing customer service experiences we've ever had. We understand that holiday weekends are busy. We know mistakes happen, and we're the type of people who give others grace. Our food came out, but our Reuben sandwich never did because it had accidentally been left off our order. When we asked about it, the bartender apologized and admitted it was his mistake for not entering it. We completely understood and weren't upset about that. What happened next is why I'm writing this review. A female bartender, who appeared to be in her 20s or early 30s with dark hair pulled up into a ponytail or bun, became frustrated with another guest who questioned the wait. Loud enough for the entire bar to hear, she said: "What the f' did you expect on a f-ing Fourth of July weekend? If you don't F-ing like the f-ing  service, go somewhere else." The entire bar went silent. A younger couple nearby and a Black gentleman sitting to our left looked over at our friend with complete shock. We all just looked at each other in disbelief. There were families and children within earshot who heard every word. Ironically, when it came time to pay our bill, the service suddenly became very quick. Before that, we watched another bartender spend more time handling his wallet and counting money than helping customers who were waiting. This review isn't about a forgotten sandwich. Mistakes happen, and we had no issue extending grace. It's about witnessing a bartender speak to paying customers in such a vulgar, disrespectful, and unprofessional manner. Everyone has stressful days, especially on a holiday weekend, but there is never an excuse to treat people that way--especially in front of children and other guests. We left feeling disappointed, not because of the food, but because of the complete lack of professionalism we witnessed. I ordered their poke plate. The serving was huge! It was worth it for the price! They have full sized bar, and they have a lot of seating area. I went during labor day so it was crowded. The wait was about 40 mins but we were able to grab one of the tables at the bar area so we seated ourselves right away. The food service was fast. We came here for late lunch/dinner. We ordered sea bass burger and fish taco. Sea bass burger wasn't good and fish taco was the worst fish taco we ever had. Nacho was the best dish for the entire meal and nacho wasn't tough to prepare. Mocktail and drinks were good. So we put score 3. Otherwise for food, we felt 2.5 withouth even consider the pricing. It is a resort. High pricing is normal but we expect better food quality. Would recommend just have drinks and appertizers here. If you want the full meal, wait Tidal to open. read more

Nice oceanfront location, but unfortunately the service and food made for a very disappointing experience. We went on a busy Sunday evening and got the only table available, next to the bar. Since there was no waiter assigned to our table, we had to order directly at the busy bar. Unfortunately, things did not get off to a good start. They couldn't make the Piña Colada with crashed ice they didn't have a blender. The cocktails we did order--a Piña Colada (on the rocks) and a Mai Tai--were both overly sweet, not particularly good, and poorly presented. When our food arrived, there was no water or proper table service. Everyone seemed to be rushing around without really acknowledging the guests. We eventually had to ask a busser for water, which was served in plastic cups. The food was mediocre at best. The spinach-artichoke dip was barely warm and extremely salty. The California burrito and chicken sandwich were okay, but nothing memorable. The most disappointing part was the complete lack of attention when we went to the bar to pay. The bartender barely acknowledged us, continued going into the back, and seemed completely unaware that a customers ware waiting for assistance. This wasn't about expecting fancy service--we simply expected basic hospitality and some basic attention. We spent nearly $150, which would be reasonable if the food and service were good. Unfortunately, the overall experience felt more like a casual food truck than an oceanfront restaurant charging those prices. I really hope the owners or management take the time to observe what is actually happening on the floor. The location is great and the restaurant attractive, but without basic customer service and attention to guests, it's very difficult to justify coming back. read more

On arrival, we were seated at a four-person table that was unclean--used napkins, drink cans, and sticky surfaces were still on the table when we sat down. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this restaurant other than a place to grab some food when you didn't want to leave the resort and though I was partially right, there were some things that surprised me. The staff were very kind and expedient, the patio was fantastic, though it was a bit too cold for us to sit out there, and the place seemed a lot more lively than I thought it would've been, especially given that it was the off-season. My date very much liked her fish tacos, the side of fries with my carne asada torta were great, the torta itself was massive, which I am always a fan of, but it had a weird taste to it, almost like cinnamon. Breathtaking Breakfast Beachfront Views of San Diego Mission Bay, set within Paradise point hotel is this nice bar and grill that you don't need to be a hotel guest to enjoy. There is free public parking to access the shoreline and restaurant. I ate here twice for breakfast and ordered the eggs Benedict with crispy bacon and potato hash. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked as I gently sliced into the egg the yolk it ran down perfectly over the delicious fresh egg muffin. The waiter was friendly as I asked questions on recommendations based on my favorite breakfast staples. I requested crispy bacon and everything was cooked to perfection. The second time I ate here for breakfast it was on a weekend day so it was busier and only could be served at the bar, but still had breathtaking views. Here's another place that's hidden in plan sight at Mission Bay. This was our first time at this place. To be honest I had never heard of it and wanted to try it. We were there to meet some people that had moved out of the area for sometime. This place had large tables and space to accommodate 12 or more at one setting. Not too long after being seat our drink order was taken. While we waited there was a band playing music. Then this bird decided to join in on the festivities. No one fed it or anything it just set and watched us. When got our beverages it wasn't that long before taken the food orders. There was so many choices to of delicious food to decide on. So we all had something different from burgers, Ahi Poke, Ruben sandwich, Cali burrito, to nachos. No one complained while dining. Until the Mia Tia, someone said it was to strong, my was just fine!!! So just remember if you order one keep in mind it could be too strong for some people. So it maybe best to start with something else or not. This place has so many beautiful scenery options to choose from and that's it's probably good to go during the day to experience more. For me you can choose from up front close proximity or far away dining options. The outside with heater option allows a more panoramic view to enjoy the surroundings at night. Their specialty drinks are the shining star here, desserts are great too. Some of the food items are mid considering the other attention to detail. The spicy chicken was dry and fries served in a paper picnic bowl seemed below expectations for a $60 per person experience. The pizzookie with ice cream was so incredibly good that I would go there just for that. The Poke bowl was generous and incredibly flavorful and could easily be shared by two people. The BLTA had thick crispy bacon and delicious toasted bread. Their burger is another winner! If I were to choose my favorite meal here it would be the BLTA with sweet potato fries, a espresso martini, and the cinnamon cookie with ice cream. Delish! read more

Overall, awesome spot! I don't know if this is applicable to most guests, but I love that they have free boat mooring for the restaurant. A true dock and eat experience! The food was food! First off, food is absolutely fantastic and there is so much to choose from. The portions are absolutely HUGE. We ate here a few times during a weekend stay and we NEVER left hungry. It has been many years since I had been there and found the dishes were well made and serving size was good compared to the prices. No complaints from anyone regarding the food and service.
