We had a great experience with KCB doing our kitchen remodel. We are 100% happy with the result. The project started with Oscar, the drywaller & painter. Oscar took real pride in his work. Multiple times, he performed work beyond his scope simply because he wanted the overall area to be perfect. Next it was Ahmed, the cabinet installer. It was really nice to have our cabinets installed by a cabinet maker instead of merely a cabinet installer. We had a couple of special requests for cabinet details, and Ahmed happily provided those. Manny the countertop guy constructed a number of nice details, including: 1) well-placed, tight joints, 2) perfect cutouts for the backsplash outlet boxes, and 3) a backsplash cap/window sill complete with dog ears at the ends. Finally, the tile guys, led by Martin, were very helpful in getting the right color installed for our accent wall backsplash. KCB began work on the day they had promised, and were done in just over 4 weeks, under Steve's direction. Steve, our designer/project manager, was helpful in a number of ways: He was easy-going, funny & easy to work with. About a week before the start of construction, Steve came by for a pre-job meeting. Steve took all the time needed to review all the details, making sure we were on the same page with everything. Steve came by again on the 1st day of construction, giving us another chance to review the fine points. Because Steve was both the designer and the project manager, during construction he remembered exactly all the details previously agreed to, and passed this on to the workers. Throughout the project, from conception to finish, Steve offered good ideas to improve our project that we hadn't thought of, for example the backsplash cap and adding an offshoot water line for a future icemaker. Steve accommodated our requests, instead of vice versa as some contractors & project managers do. His objective was to give us a project we'd be happy with. In the middle of have our bathroom remodel by another company, We find out that they could not customize a vanity the way we wanted and need it. Therefore, we contacted Emad, and he was only to happy to help us. He customized an 80 inch vanity with counter top and sinks( three or four inches taller than the previous one). Also, he sent one of his guys to help us raise the light switches and medicine cabinet when the company we were using wanted a lot of money to do this when it should have been covered in the price we were paying them. We did a total kitchen remodel from KCB and we were very happy with the process and result. Our main designer, Greg, was extremely knowledgeable and diligent, and always cheerful and pleasant. He did a fantastic job with the project management. All of the KCB tradesmen were skilled and always pleasant to have in our home. They were always neat and cleaned up after each day's work. Greg gave us a lot of support in selecting our countertop stone, and the stone cutter came with us to select slabs, to ensure we were getting highest quality material. Everything was finished perfectly. Greg cheerfully came by a few months later to replace a drawer face we weren't happy with and to adjust some of the cabinet doors. We used Kitchen Cabinets and Beyond to remodel our living, dining, and family rooms. We wanted hardwood flooring in the living and dining area, put up wainscoting, reface our fireplaces, and have mantles built for both areas. Emad came to our home to discuss what we wanted. He worked with us to help choose materials and the look we wanted. We met with him and his cabinet maker, Ahmed several times to narrow down exactly what we wanted in the custom wainscoting and mantles. It was very much appreciated that they took the time to make sure it was right before Ahmed constructed the wainscoting. For the living and dining area, we had a beautiful French oak herringbone pattern wood floor installed, beautiful custom wainscoting throughout the room and also wainscoting panels covering the old upper bricks on the wall of the fireplace to match. Beautiful marble refacing on the old brick fireplace itself, and a gorgeous custom mantle. The room was exactly what I wanted, and we're so happy. The room is gorgeous and lighter and brighter. We receive many compliments from friends and family. The family room fireplace also was refaced with a different marble, cut in smaller pieces that gave a different look from the living room, and Ahmed also made a custom mantle exactly how I wanted. Started off really good. Went and picked out a bathroom cabinet for our master bathroom. Pretty painless picking out what we wanted and ordering. Problem starts when I call to see where the cabinet is at after the 4-6 week estimate had passed. They said they had it. Good thing we weren't waiting for it on the job. Next upon unboxing the cabinet, there were plenty of defects that needed to get fixed and or replaced. Emad handled ordering the replacement parts and all of that. But once again never got a phone call on where that stuff was at. I called numerous times and left messages and never received return phone calls. So finally the last straw was just after Christmas, mind you I ordered the cabinet in August, I go to the store and asked emad where my replacement piece was at. And once again said it's in the back. And once again I never got a phone call. And it was the wrong replacement. So he said it would be another 2-3 weeks to get the new piece. Fast forward to yesterday I went to the shop again. Emad said they had the piece and that it been there for about 10 days. Once again no phone call and 3 months later. Do not expect good customer service on being kept updated on what's going on. You have to stay on top of him. With that being said and a 7 month process for getting what we paid for we have decided not to use them for our kitchen remodel. Don't know how he expects people to be waiting around for him especially on pretty significant projects. Check the poor reviews that aren't posted on the main page. Of course what really sets them apart was when we started working with Greg Leef. I am an Engineer who had done my homework before we started looking, and I'm a stickler to detail. Not normally a Yelp reviewer, but we had such a bad experience with this shop I felt I had to create an account to post. My parents had their kitchen cabinets and flooring done by this shop, and soon after the job was complete the flooring started to warp and buckle. It's understandable that problems happen in remodeling, but what you want is a contractor who will handle them with respect and professionalism -- neither of which we received from Emad (the owner). He was unresponsive and unhelpful, and treated us as a nuisance rather than a customer. We had to email and call him over and over for months just to get the simplest acknowledgment of a possible issue. He'd schedule calls with us and then blow them off, and make vague claims that he was following up with the materials supplier but not provide any actual information. It's now been almost 12 months, the warranty in the contract is about to expire, and we have no fix or even explanation for the problem. For what's it worth, the cabinets are good, but given our experience with the floors we hope that this review prevents others from having a similar experience. :( read more

We needed to get chemical resistant counter tops for our laboratory. Unfortunately, we need them quickly, to be ready for an audit. After some searching, we found KC&B. As promised, all 17 counter tops were manufactured and delivered within one week. I will say it again, 1 week. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication with the order so some of the tops were not the correct size. What impressed us the most was the response from KC&B. Trina reached out to us to let us know that the error will be rectified immediately and those tops will be redone at no cost to us. We thought that we'd have to wait a month or so to get those back but to our surprise, they were done within 1 week AGAIN! We received our new tops today and they fit PERFECTLY. We really appreciate KC&B effort to fix the problem and we'll definitely go to the them again for any of our future needs of the lab's casework. read more
