There were so many cool mugs, dishes, pots, pans, utensils, even coffee makers, instant pots, toaster ovens and more. It was also 50% off on a lot of things for Father's Day. We got a cool coca cola pitcher for $10. They also have a table in the middle to take a break and paint rocks. You can take it home or add to their garden outside. This is such a great concept. They have everything you could possibly need for your kitchen and then some. It's a great way to keep old kitchen items out of the landfill and give them a new life. Plus, the proceeds go to kitchens for good. The amount of items is a bit overwhelming. Some items are gathered together but most are spread out throughout the store. It's a bit of a treasure hunt. Honestly their selection is amazing and they have constant product turnover over as items quickly sell and they receive so many items to sell. Most merchandise is wonderful quality and lasts for a reason. Great to go to for starting out after a fresh move too! They have wonderful tag color day sales too, so if something is out of budget you can always wait until said tag color day to score a deal. The staff here is incredibly welcoming and kind! Everyone is extremely knowledgeable too, so if you have any questions, they definitely will help to find the answers. Today KFG shop went from 5 stars to a 4. Apparently they got a new person pricing items because prices are about 20% since I was last there. Prices are now too high imo. Lots of interesting stuff to be sure. But I bought nothing - everything I was looking for I was able to get at Home Goods for less money than I would have spent at the KFG shop and it was new not used. We came for the Microenterprise outdoor food hall in the parking lot that happens every third Sunday of the month. We picked up coffee, banana chocolate chip bread, fried catfish and tamales from each of the vendor. We skipped the cheesecake and bread vendor. Few round tables under a tent in the middle. After we ate, we went inside the store. The store sells gently used kitchen items, even dining tables! Very clean, organized and great stuff! If you're eyeing something, wait for the discount days. Depending on the day/week they have 50% off tags. Today was green tag. Monday (senior) and Tuesday (military) gets 15% discount. They have candle making class on Wednesday 2-3pm. Seems like for retired folks because I'm not sure how someone with a 9-5 job could attend these workshops like myself. One of my favorite spots in Pacific Beach. I've outfitted most of my kitchen with unique pieces from here at really great prices. Lots of full sets to choose from so you don't need to mix and match. My daughter took me to this adorable little thrift shop, small vendors inside selling theri goods on every 1st Sunday of the month, and vendors in the parking lot and live music. We found some beautiful Christmas plaid napkins, cookie cutters, and cookie tins. Wonderful selection, fabulous customer service amd the prices weren't too bad. read more

I went here to donate a pressure cooker I was too scared to try! This place has everything you need to start cooking or stock your kitchen! What I plan to do is go and get cute holiday items, use them, and then donate them back to them or goodwill. I don't have the space to keep a bunch of decorations and holiday plates and dishes. So why not buy them, and then just donate them back? It's a win-win! The staff has always been friendly and offer assistance finding items. It's part Sur La Table back in the day and part thrift store treasures and tons of widgets, gadgets, appliances, stemware, tureens and whatchamathingees. I purchased some ---purposely---mismatched plates and really appreciated the high quality Transferware, vintagey goodies and friendly Staff. If these folx are volunteers, well good lard!!! Helping out a great non-profit while shopping for cookware at awesome prices? Count me in! I had the pleasure of attending Kitchens for Good SHOP's pre-launch party today, and it was a wonderful experience. The store feels open and airy while still being full of fantastic deals on kitchenware, appliances, dishware, linens, and even cookbooks. Most items are grouped by color, and the displays are well arranged for easy browsing. Being a skilled home cook who loves pretty dishes and useful cookware and gadgets means my kitchen is pretty well stocked, but I still ended up getting several great pieces including a shaped metal Italian bread pan for $2 (retails for almost $30 online), a beautiful solid wood serving tray ($3), a few glass bowls, and two large round cake pans. I spotted several beautiful baskets, tablecloths, and pots including an All-Clad sauce pan, but I passed since I couldn't justify the space or purpose. They also had a new KitchenAid mixer for sale, many bread machines, and several panini press/electric griddles for sale. Everything is so well priced that it's hard not to buy more than you need/want. All items being sold have been donated, and proceeds support Kitchens for Good programs. Those worthwhile initiatives include reducing food waste as well as a culinary apprenticeship program which trains people impacted by homelessness, foster care, and former incarceration culinary skills so that they can move on to self-sustaining roles in the food and restaurant industry. For the opening today, Kitchens for Good SHOP had a spread of small bites prepared by their culinary team. I had a chance to speak to the executive chef named Ryan. He told me that they regularly prepare 2,000 meals a day and recently had cooked a special meal for several dozen Afghan refugees. They aimed to create Afghan "comfort food" for this meal and even purchased Halal meat from a local Afghani-owned business so they could support Afghani individuals from start to finish. How cool is that?! I am going to look through my kitchen and start collecting donations for Kitchens for Good SHOP. And that means I'll have more space for a few new finds from the shop, too. The best thrift shop I have ever been to. This one, as the name indicates, is all about kitchen apparel, no clothing or other items. Everything is super well organized by colors, lots of things but very tidy, neat and clean and not that funky smell you get at the usual Goodwills. You will get lots of dishes from the designers famous in the 70s, i read several names that I am familiar with. So don't expect super cheap, real vintage should not be. All the items are donated by people from PB as the woman at the counter told me and the money goes to a good cause as this is a non profit. Oh! And check the mural artwork...that was got me inside the store. I thought it was a produce shop. Oh well, cool enough! read more

My favorite parts of thrift store hunting, condensed and curated into a magical store designed just for me, lol! I spent less than $40 and came home with 5 amazing cookbooks worth more than $120 retail plus a couple kitchen accessories. Run entirely by volunteers and relying 100% on community donations, this place is very well run by joyful volunteers who love giving! Not only is it an excellent place to shop, they also provide classes for people who are looking for employment in the food industry after experiencing homelessness, prison and other debilitating circumstances. What a wonderful opportunity to do some good! I will definitely be shopping for all my kitchen needs and non-needs (haha) in the future. read more

What a lovely place to go! I saw this store on a "best places to thrift" in San Diego. My friend and I went in and loved it! She was looking for a bundt pan and found many to choose from. I was looking for pot holder handle type things that you use when you have stainless steel pot handles, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but I did buy four pot holders and am making my own heat resistant handle covers, so a win in my books. I also found a nice, new and unused ninja container that has these cool baffles that help mix smoothies around. Perfect! I use my ninja every day. They were having a sale and I got an "Easter egg" that had 50% off! Bonus and even better, store made chocolate chip cookies were for free as we checked out. Someone must have been making them as we shopped because it smelled great in there. I didn't occur to me to take pictures, but the ones that other people shared are spot on. Love this place! One of my favorite secondhand shops to peruse every once in a while - especially because they often have markdowns. Everything is high quality and clean (no weird odor or dusty surfaces like a lot of other thrift stores). I highly recommend doing a couple of laps around the store because there's so much to look at and the displays they set up are so cute. I have always found the employees to be friendly and helpful. As someone who frequents thrift stores just to look for kitchen supplies, this place is a dream. Everyone is beyond nice and helpful. I bought 3 bowls, a serving plate, a baking dish with a lid and some odd utensils and because of their sale, it was only $31. What a fun store! This is a non-profit "thrift store" for cookware, kitchen tools, dining items...anything that involves cooking and eating. Some prices are really good, but others are a tad high: one mug (which I recognized as an Anthropology item) that caught my eye was priced at $7 or $8. The items are all donated, high quality, and beautifully arranged. The helpful staff will be happy to help you locate anything you may be looking for. And, you may even get a freshly baked cookie, as they bake them in the back of store, the enticing aroma wafting throughout the store. Ample parking. Weekly sale. Amazing store, products, staff, and purpose! I have heard of Kitchens for Good previously. For those not familiar with the organization, they are a nonprofit providing free culinary, baking, and hospitality programs for individuals facing societal and economic challenges. When I heard that the program was opening a used-goods kitchen store, I had to check it out! I was pleasantly surprised to arrive and find that Kitchens for Good Shop has its own parking lot! This was a relief for those familiar with Pacific Beach. I entered and was pleasantly overwhelmed by the size of the store. It's a huge space displaying all kinds of kitchenware from utensils to dinnerware sets to appliances. I browsed the store for at least half an hour, wanting nearly every item but knowing I don't have enough space or need for all of the gorgeous plates and cool appliances. One staff member, I wish I had caught her name, was incredibly helpful and friendly. She was also baking fresh chocolate chip cookies in the back that are free at the front counter! I came in for a knife sharpener ($6 for a honing rod, $2-$20 for the blade sharpeners) but also left with a $6 Pyrex bowl. Some other outstanding items I saw were multiple bread makers, a KitchenAid mixer, dozens of dinnerware sets with beautiful plates and cups, assorted knives and individually sold cutlery, some furniture, and crystal dishes. They also had a good selection of seasonal items including glass pumpkin plates and Christmas dinnerware. My favorite part of thrifting is finding items rather than clothes, so this store is perfect for me! All of their profits support the Kitchens for Good Programs providing technical training to apprentices and partnering them with employment opportunities. Additionally, they promote the use of second-hand items. All of the products I saw were in good to great condition, and who doesn't want to save money when it comes to the expensive world of kitchenware! I'm not sure how frequently I'll be back as I don't often need new kitchen items, but I'd return to browse and I'd 100% recommend it to anyone in need of something for their kitchen or dining room. read more
