We had reservations for 9pm but our massage ended a little earlier than expected so we came up around 8:30pm and the wait was very minimum, maybe 2 minutes, if that. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Our server, Dennis, was on top of his game. He recommended entrees and desserts. He even provided a free dessert for my boyfriend's birthday which was a really sweet treat we both enjoyed. Like most, we went here because we were staying here which is very convenient after a delightful day packed full of activities. The staff was delightful, everyone grated us warmly and our wait staff was so friendly and kind. Honestly what a great service experience. We had cowboy steak, salmon and kids chicken fingers. The steak was cooked perfectly medium and what a delight to have a cooked exactly how you want it, the first time. The additional dishes though just lacked life, flavor and inspiration. When you add the price and speak of value, this is where this experience goes south. The salmon was $30 cowboy steak $50. Salmon was just ehh ok nothing special, the red quinoa was literally devoid of any flavor. It's like they set out to give quinoa a bad name. The only saving grace was the beautiful steak. The cocktails were much of the same, sounds nice on paper didn't deliver in the glass. I had the the bourbon cider and sweater weather but both just lacked the touch of finesse, they lacked the depth and complexity of cocktails and just didn't live up to the $17 a pop price tag. I hate to say this but you'd probably have a better meal leaving the hotel and venturing around Vernon or Hamburg. I wish that passion of service matched the passion of food but it did not and really disappointed me. read more

We (teenage child and I) dined while staying at the resort. We're repeat guests and this was by far our best experience yet at Kites - mainly because of the service. Nat (Natalia), our server was a true gem. Very pleasant, friendly, and courteous. Always had a smile on, and checked in on us, to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a busy night, and not only did Nat stop by to let us know our food would be a few more minutes, but the manager herself also did the same. Great customer service. We were in no rush, so I made sure they knew we didn't mind at all. We enjoyed the fried calamari, the burger, the flat iron steak and a flourless chocolate cake. We found everything to be very good. No complaints. Ambience is always very cozy there; a great way to end the night . Will definitely keep coming back. read more

Kites is the main restaurant of The Mineral side of Crystal Springs Resort. Your $30 breakfast credit would probably be spent here ($26 per person at the actual restaurant) and your take out and room service would probably come the kitchen here too. Kites acts as not only a sports bar but also a general dine in area with a lodge as a theme. It almost tries to solve for too much. Food: 4/5 Ambience: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 To start, the food served for dinner was cooked beautifully. The breakfast? As standard and normal as can be. We got the burger and salmon. The sirloin Burger was cooked to perfection, the fries were okay. The salmon was done just right as well. Would recommend either of the two! Service is a bit slow, so definitely be mindful here. When we came back for breakfast, there was no wow factor. Your main choices are between, eggs, some pastries, smoked salmon, sausage and bacon. All in all the food is overall on point, and the place does not deserve the Low rating others have thrown at it. You will notice that much of the ratings were pointed at particular instances where food perhaps wasn't delivered on time or another disgruntled complaint. Be careful with take out orders. I didn't get the eggs with my meal that the menu indicated were included. I called them back and they confirmed it should have had eggs. Since our room was as far as possible from Kites I didn't feel like trekking back for it. Also, a 23% gratuity is automatically added to all orders. I asked about that and they said because of the "holidays". Cocktails during dinner were good. Our children have food allergies and there was some confusion and mistakes in their orders. Since they were out of the gluten free pasta the menu advertised we ordered grilled chicken but they brought out breaded chicken. Eventually they got the order right but the rest of our orders were cold by then since we didn't want to eat in front of my son until he had his dinner. read more

I spent the weekend at Minerals Resorts during Spring Break. The breakfast buffet was filling. They had smoked salmon and capers salad, fruits, small breakfast pastries, eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, and pancakes. The Tuscan dinner buffet was the best buffet I ever eaten. The flavors were bursting. I paid to see the mentalist, Kent Axell and it was so much fun! I would recommend ! If you want a casual dinner and you are a guest at the resort, then why not. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. We came here for dinner and breakfast twice. Appetizers: We had their roasted Brussels sprouts. It was delicious and crispy. It was a large portion too. Crab cake, we ordered two. It was very good. We got their salad with pistachios, beets, cucumbers and pomegranate. It was huge and very tasty. The shrimp was very good. However, the chicken was over cooked and very dry. I didn't finish the chicken. Honestly, I wish I didn't add the chicken because the salad was big enough and good alone. Breakfast Buffet: They have buffets when there are a lot of guests checked in or else it would be a sit down breakfast. We really enjoyed their buffet options. They even had a fresh omelette station. Our holiday was derailed by family members who fell ill. At the last minute, came here Christmas Day with my wife, her sister and husband. Arrived late for lunch. We were hungry and sad. The manager and staff were superb. Since we were late, ordered appetizers from the lunch menu. Shrimp cocktails and avocado toast. All delicious. Roaring fireplace/beautiful tree. We stayed for dinner and were not disappointed. Excellent wine pairings with the food. Lamb shank was done to perfection (meat fell off the bone). My wife loved the Chilean sea bass that was fresh and delicious. We were made to feel like family. The staff Barbie and Brie took excellent care of us. Joe the maitre'd was knowledgeable and genuinely friendly as was the rest of the staff, all good people who went above and beyond. And to top it off I later ran into my old co-worker friend with her family from Queens. Truly a special evening. I will return. read more

We're staying at minerals, so we went the first night, and it was a bit hectic. I ordered the shrimp which I thought was very average. The sauce was a bit funky, and I couldn't tell what was off about it, but that could've just been me. I then ordered the chicken, and for some reason my meal never got put in with the others, so I ended up waiting 20-25 minutes longer for my entree than my family members did. The chicken was just fine, but the wait was not ideal. Our server was very good considering there were 10 of us, so credit to her. Went here the first night my husband and I stayed at the hotel. I thought it was going to be really good considering we are staying at Crystal Springs and especially because of how pricey it is! We could not have been more disappointed. $19 for calamari that wasn't even crispy. $16 for an appetizer pizza that was microwaved middle school pizza. Everything just was not good. I was told by my mom that in 2020 her students used to work there and they said the food is packaged food that is microwaved or fastly heated up. The next night I decided to look at the reviews and I should have looked before going! Not only are they a 2 star restaurant but the owner comments on all of the bad reviews! They are fully aware of how bad their restaurant is and still keep it as it is. It is not worth going to eat there for how much you will spend. I would highly recommend going out somewhere else to eat even if you have to drive 5-10 minutes. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant. Just check out the other reviews! read more

Let me start by saying that I was a bit of a captive audience. I had my toddler and elder mother with me and my car very nearly broke down on our way to Minerals Hotel. With that in mind, we ate all our meals here. I made dinner reservations based on their recommendation but honestly it was not packed on a Thursday night(more so Friday). We were greeted warmly each time and service staff quickly recognized us and were service oriented; they wanted tips and they worked their back ends off to earn them. We were able to charge to the room and just tip at the end. The seating area is located on the second floor above the lobby with high ceilings and giant floral/kite decor. Breakfast buffet had a great assortment of items, including an omelette station. If you're staying on property you get a $40 room credit towards breakfast at Kites. (I don't think staff realized just how thankful I was that they let me take boxes of pastries and fruit from breakfast; my picky toddler and diabetic mother quite literally survived off those snack boxes.) Lunch and dinner was from a set menu, the prices were astronomical but again we were there and we were hungry. There is a kids menu with separate selections from breakfast and then same menu for lunch/dinner. I had a lovely beer (both lunch and dinner) and was pleasantly surprised to find out I can take the beer "to go" as long as I stayed on site. When I stay at Minerals Hotel again I'll likely be back. read more

Went there about a month ago with my date. Never had been there before she lives in the area so decided to go all I can say was my experience was a 10 across the boards. From the ambiance of kites to the great service that I had to even getting the bill which I thought was going to be way more than what it was pricing very very reasonable the food was extremely well prepared very fresh vibrant flavors kitchen staff definitely knows what they're doing would highly recommend this place to others. read more

Our server was very nice but the food here was not very good - no I see why others rated it low. Plus it was empty on a Saturday night which is not a good sign... I ordered their risotto - and probably for the first time in maybe forever - I sent my food back. The rice was raw, I kid you not AND the chicken was over cooked...yeah kind of crazy. They brought out something else for me but when the bill came they charged me for the risotto (which was $29) and not the new item which was less. I almost never nickel and dime restaurants but when they mess things up and don't make it right and add tip on top of it, not cool. The manager didn't even come and apologize or check to see how things were going... Others were hit or miss with the meal. Crossing this one off the list for any returns in the future... read more

Staying at the Mineral Hotel, this was the closest option for not leaving out into the cold weather. When we got to the restaurant, they sat everyone together even though the restaurant itself was very spacious. I decided to order a pomegranate Negroni, which taste like cheap alcohol and a splash of juice. Then I ordered their beyond burger, which wasn't that bad but too dry but the fries were tasty (but a little on the cold side). Also we got a salmon garden salad and when it came, the salmon was FRIED! I never saw such a thing. It was super salty and not good at all. The restaurant was very disappointing, especially for the price of the hotel, I would expect 5 star food. read more

We were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of food served. Our server was knowledgeable of the menu items and made solid recommendations. Our server checked on us frequently but did not hover uncomfortably or seem to be hurrying us out. For the quality of the meal served I think the prices were appropriate. For desert we had the strawberry mascarpone and cafe affogato. Both fully consumed with joy. During our dinner a member of the management staff stop by our table and inquired about our experience and if we had any input to pass on. It is appreciated to see management present on the floor in a relaxed manner allowing their workers to carry out their duties. read more

Wish I could give negative or zero stars. Terrible. I've been here a few times but I will not be returning. One particular bartender, Katina, was extremely rude to my girlfriend and I, and other bar patrons mentioned how absolutely anti-social she was. She has the vibe of a belligerent barmaid and a bad attitude to match. And in high volume situations she gets really flustered, dismissive and rude. She consistently rolls her eyes and talks negatively about how the place is run, how little she gets paid, etc. We could hear the group next to us talking about how rude and negative she is. People don't go out with friends to be depressed by the bartender but she was awful and I will avoid at all costs. Never again. Moreover, I heard one of the managers use a shockingly racist word to describe people of color. On top of that the food is mediocre at best and the drinks were much too sweet. Avoid at all costs! Even with few alternatives around, anyplace in the area is a step above this restaurant! read more

I stayed at Crystal springs resort with my girlfriends and we had the misfortune of dining at Kites restaurant. I must say it was a complete disappointment. The Brussels sprouts were terrible and came with a weird orange sauce drizzled on top and the pizza was incredibly soggy- worse than frozen microwaveable pizza. To top it off, the majority of us ordered steak frites and none of our steak was cooked how we requested. Each one was overcooked and had a weird tomatoes sauce on top, making them completely unappetizing. The steak frites came with truffle fries, that didn't have a single taste of truffle... just have parmesan cheese heavily sprinkled on top. As for the drinks, the waitress (who was lovely) recommended the butterfly margarita and Sangria. While I couldn't sample the drinks because I was pregnant, the margarita was a weird purple color and my friends got served warmed sangria that they had to ask for a cup of ice. Overall, the experience was terrible, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was very expensive and the food was below average. Salmon, chicken and steaks were all over cooked. We had to beg for service and water. They disregarded allergies and did not correct them. Awful experience. Risotto and the free bread were the only saving grace. The male bartender couldn't make simple Manhattan. You'd be better off going down the street to Taco Bell. This was the first time at this restaurant. We started with a cocktail at the bar. Yulia was a very special bartender. Not only did she customize my Cosmo but she was so warm and pleasant and paid attention to each persons request. We were then seated in the restaurant where Dorothy was so friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The waiters, Dennis and Dan were amazing making sure we were happy with our dinner selections. Okay people are haters. Is this a 5 star restaurant? Definitely not. But I must admit the service is great. Attentive staff and nice bartenders that add to a pleasant meal. I think other reviewers are just upset about the price, which 100% is not worth for what you pay. I had the penne with vodka sauce and added chicken ($36). The chicken felt and looked like those Tyson Chicken Strips not fresh chicken breast which is upsetting given the extra charge. I'm sure if they had descent pricing people wouldn't be as upset but given the quality for what you pay, I'd say for lunch and dinner go outside of the resort. read more

The food here was just okay. I feel like the negative reviews are blown out of proportion a bit though. The dinner, lunch and drinks are okay as well but definitely overpriced for what you get. The penne and chicken was $36 and you could tell that the chicken was frozen / not freshly cooked. For drinks, I recommend making your own cocktail as they are cheaper i.e. espresso martini was $13 vs. the $17 ones they present on the menu. The breakfast was solid - highly recommend the omelette bar. The saving grace of this place is the staff. They were wonderful (especially the breakfast hostess!!). read more
