We went here on Easter Friday after a long day of work at our new house. Smokeys got recommended to us and since we new to area we followed the recommendation. So I have to admit I was starving and hungry but the food was just sucks. We had chicken with mozzarella and tomato bruschetta and mashed potatoes. Chicken was totally over cooked and hard like a stone. Which mostly means is frozen chicken breast ( I mean really you fucked up a chicken cmon what kind of chef you are???) Mashed potatoes only like garlic so I think that was the reason because the used instand one ( I mean really????) My wife had eggplant parmigiana with pasta. Eggplant was soggy .... Good was the salad and the bread for the start but I think only because wasn't made in house. I think fire the chef right now that wasn't anything fancy but he wasn't able to accomplish this easy task. Pilsner vs Wheatbeer not the same.. we talked to waitress at the end amd she said all the have is the munich lager from Paulaner. So either you change your menu to paulaner seasonal as is done with some adams or you have the beer on tap matching your actual menu... so that was disappointing and telling a customer I dont drink I don't know doesnt make it better. We ordered the Farmer platter, jersey corn and bacon salad and a brick oven magarita pizza.... Farmers Platter: supposedly Jersey Girl cheese and meats taste more like castco ... there was no jam, butte or honey with it which would make the whole think much better and please leave the canned pepperocini out ... cooking a quick homemade jam doesnt cost much and makes it unique This was by far the best dish out of the 3.. The salad was a disappointing. To much romaine 5 cherry tomatoes ( NJ Is Tomato state no?) some little bites of bacon and corn ( was supposed to be roasted but was as best blanched/cooked) and way to less of that taste less dressing... messing up a salad havent seen that ever ... The pizza was forgotten and arrived 15min after we finished the food ... crust tasted like matzha crust, sauce terrible ... Again the place has nice ambiance now but the food is sucks and the beer menu isnt right ... I do not recommend this place to anyone ... we paid $75 for crappy food.. read more

THIS PLACE IS FILTHY! I went here while up in Mt. Vernon to hike. I saw a billboard of this place and thought why not. They advertise the best wings in town but they really aren't. The food is very sub pair. I got fish and chips for $18 which is pretty steep. Besides the menu being overpriced and the food being oily this place is infested with flies and different types of bugs. I got bit by an ant while I was sitting. The ant had managed to crawl up my body to my shoulder and bit me underneath my shirt. I had to deal with that and the flies swarming us during dinner. The table wasn't wiped down and neither were the booths. The cook came out of the kitchen for a bit and must have been sick or something cause he was coughing all over the place and not covering his mouth. This place is just filthy. Smokey's is now The Glenwood and has terrible service and incompetent help. Waited an hour and a half for a cold stale pretzel. Never got the Calamari we ordered and left before dinner arrived. I asked for the manager and was told they haven't had one in a while. I would never go here again nor would I recommend anyone else go. I emailed the owner and not surprisingly didn't hear anything back. They need to get out of the restaurant business and let someone else get in there and make it a success. We happened upon Smokey's while in Vernon this past Saturday. I have eaten here many times, but it was my fiancé's first time here. He had ordered the cheeseburger, while I picked the personal margarita pizza. My fiancé is very particular about his burgers, so I was relieved when he said that Smokey's had made his burger perfectly. I just adore the pizzas here that come straight out of their brick oven. And today, I polished off my little margarita pie with its delicious thin crust, saving just the obligatory last slice for my fiancé. My friends and I went for our little Christmas get together. They have always enjoyed it there as have I. Even during the worst of covid it's always been excellent. We were looking forward to the new menu. It was quite a disappointment. The increase in prices is understandable but the mediocre food was not. I had a hard time finding my portobello mushroom on my sandwich. It was primarily spinach. My friend loves a good steak and has never been disappointed there. We had horrible experience with this place. We were in the area for spring break and decided to get brunch from this place. Maybe because we were the first customers for the day and the kitchen was not ready?? I feel like they gave us all of their left over from the night before. The portion was big, but the pull port quality was horrible. Both taste and look like they were left over from the night before. Dried and tasted bad. The chicken wings were dried also. The soup and salad were both charged to our bill, but missing. The service was not good either. We had to talked to the manager about the refund. I am sorry to have to give a bad review during these trying times, however, in this case I believe I need to warn others who might be thinking of spending their hard earned money at this establishment. I placed an online order for wings with dingo sauce and a half rack of baby back ribs which came to $38.65, to which I added a 10% tip. When I got the order home, the order of wings came with 3 twigs of celery and NO SAUCE. The half rack of ribs was 4 ribs covered in soggy fries(see photo) this is not even a child's portion! What a complete rip off! Before writing this review I called the restaurant and spoke to a woman who was rude & clearly not even going to offer some kind of apology or compensation for this substandard order. Let me say that the food is simply disgusting!!! Me and my bf came here on Saturday evening and place had plenty of room to sit (that could be a first sign not staying there). We've got chicken wings as app, burger and steak for main course. Wings were small. Steak was absolutely tasteless, not salted or peppered. It had not a good smell/after taste. The meat wasn't chosen for steak purposes cuz it was very chewy like a gum that made it hard to swallow. Around $70 w/tip dinner for 2 people that was not worth even a penny. The bartender (Kelley or Kathy) is completely clueless on customer service. I had to wait 15 minutes for a refill on water so I could enjoy my food. She was on her phone the whole time. Then she almost seemed offended that I asked for another beer and water. The saddest thing is she is a career bartender and she is mediocre at best. It seems like like if you're not a Vernon local you don't get good service here. Mayne that's why she was fired from the Lamp Post Inn. Either way I've given here many chances but OMG she is the worst bartender I've ever seen in life. She is like a teenager on her phone. That's why the night bartender has do an exorbitant amount of work when they show. As someone who's been in the business my whole life I've never seen such a lack of passion, enthusiasm, and bias (against people she didn't go to high school with) ever in any food service establishment in my life. A couple of weeks ago I had written a negative review because they had lost my to go order and the only woman I had spoke to didn't give me the best service. But I've taken it down because every other time I've been there or gotten takeout I've had a fantastic experience. The food has been phenomenal every time and the servers always did a great job. Smokey's doesn't only have some of the best food in the area, they are honestly one of my favorite restaurants in NJ. The smoked wings are literally the best wings I've ever had. We came here because some of our friends were raving about the great wings. It was a Sunday afternoon so the place was busy but definitely not overly crowded. We got seated right away and the waitress was there quickly to ask us for our drink order. We settled on the wings for an appetizer with the signature dingo sauce. The price for $13-$14 was well worth is because you received a heaping plate of 12 wings. Just like everyone said, they were absolutely amazing. You didn't need any blue cheese or ranch with them in my opinion. The wings alone had a lot of flavor and the sauce was a nice compliment. The entree of the ribs came with a side salad that was large enough for two to share. The burger was huge, could only finish half of it after all of the food we received. Despite all the negative reviews for this place, I had nothing but a great experience! My partner and I have come to mountain creek for the weekend and decided to enjoy some dinner. It was delicious! Although the menu is very pricey, I believe that the food is worth the cost. The meal was flavorful and fresh, delicious overall! My partner and I decided to take some home with us! For a quick bar food type meal, my husband and I and the kids were pleased. We started w the smoked wings and they were VERY good. Came with dingo sauce and blue cheese. I got the Buffalo chicken pizza which was pretty good and husband got the brisket which he liked. He also said the fries were good. I got Smokey's to cater for my birthday party, it was so good, I 100% recommended this place. We got a bunch of pizzas, and this was by far the best pizza I've had since moving to Sussex County. It's crust is very thin and super crunchy, absolutely loved the change from every other pizza around here with soft, bready crust. The food was amazing. The smoked wings were juicy and had a great smoky flavor. The meat lovers wood fired pizza was crispy and we'd recommend adding mushrooms and onions like we did! The lobster Mac and cheese lacked some lobster but still had a great taste. The fig and goat cheese flatbread was tasty and the cheeseburgers were large and juicy, with a nice bun, crisp lettuce, tomato and onion. The handcut fries were excellent! The restaurant, being short of staff, continued to sit patrons knowing the excessive wait and the overworked staff was struggling. Our server was the bartender... on a busy night. We're locals and had been here a few times, but our last two experiences have not been that great. Today, Labor Day, we went there for a late lunch. When we arrived it was about 2:30, we were given a table almost immediately out in the parking lot. There were five other tables in service, but every one of those already had food on their tables. With two waitresses and one waiter working outside we waited 15-20 mins without anybody even taking a drink order and we eventually gave up and left.
