I see there are many not so good reviews for Kittles. I want to respond with my account of my dealings with Kittles. I have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD LS with 244,000 miles on the clock. I bought it used a couple of years ago. I don't drive it a lot. My research shows that many mechanics believe this truck and engine is one of Chevrolets best trucks. Overengineered is the common theme. When I first got it my wife and I drove from Little Rock to Rogers, AR and the engine began to misfire and the service light began to flash. This made my wife very nervous. After that she wouldn't ride in it. So I began a service quest. I spent many hours researching common causes and found it was a common problem with this engine and there were many suggested fixes that might work. I took it too a couple of garages and found they worked by guess work and never fixing the problem. I had no confidence that they could. I took it to Kittles and began a program over about two years to finally get the truck in shape. They started with basic testing finding that the engine and drivetrain were in very good shape relatively speaking. Beginning with the electronics, the sensors and fuel pumps they found a couple of bad sensors and replaced the ones that failed. Over several services they moved forward fixing the faults of each next step of the ignition and fuel systems. This all done with thorough testing and diagnostics. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Each trip I was supplied with complete information of faults with which to make decisions on what I would spend good money on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would drive it between services and still get the misfires. Eventually they worked through to what I would call the end being the coils, spark plugs and wires. Also there were other issues with the master cylinder, a leaky power steering line, a coolant leak, etc. Now the truck runs like it should. No leaks, good compression, no oil burning and plenty of power. They also made good recommendations for a local upholstery shop to fix the drivers seat, and other things. I don't work for free so I don't expect they should work for free as in the diagnostic and testing part. Especially since they are using sophisticated equipment to do so accurately. I have spent a lot of money on this truck but based on my studies I don't doubt this truck will go another 250,000 miles. I could have traded it off for a new one but the reviews for similar new models are not great and they are way more complex and overly luxurious for my taste. So I decided to make the investments. I expect to pay for the diagnostics and they kept me informed of what the exact costs would be and I had the choice or option to have the work done. They knew going forward that my main concern was that my wife would get in it and have confidence that we would get to our destination and back with no problems. The old sayings being true that you get what you pay for and that's the price for peace of mind. I have had to place my trust in the folks at Kittles and I believe it is well placed. But if you want cheap short-cuts don't go to Kittles. The systems in making these engines and other components run efficiently are complex and problems with one set causes problems in others. The whole electronic system needs to run correctly and there can be multiple problems related to one and this can cause undue wear and tear on others. The idea with the premium service they advertise is to test and fix everything related that fails. I would never have been able to determine two coils were kaput, or that one sensor was torn out and wrapped around the drive shaft or that another sensor was non-functioning and some of the others functioned below spec. Kittles wanted to charge me $600 just for the diagnostic. They said my motor is messed up, I was ready to give my car back and suffer that loss because I simply cannot replace that. I ended up paying $330 and they weren't even done with the inspection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I figured I'd take it out because that's way too much, but they would not allow me to, understandably, so I thought maybe I'll just clean it out, but they still wouldn't let me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Smart on them, but! I came up out of that $330, cleaned out my car and had it towed back to the company I leased it from. My leasing company said it wasn't the motor, but something electrical, an easy fix, and it was fixed in one day .... Big sigh . They put a part in and said it was driving beautifully. If I would've allowed Kittles to work on the engine due to them saying that was the issue, I would've had to pay thousands of dollars, when the real issue was only $300. Do not go to Kittles garage. I used to take my 1954 Chrysler New Yorker to Mr. Kittle (the founder) when he first opened his shop in the '50's. He would be very disappointed to know that his name is being used by the current owners to extort money from his old customers. I took my vehicle in for a new fuel pump only. I've taken my car to Kittles for a while now. I guess there's new ownership and they're horrible now. I dropped my car off Monday morning at 7:30am and had to harass them on Wednesday to get the quote. I took it in for one thing, one! I heard popping noises from the front of my car. Well after three days they gave me a laundry list of things to be repaired. When I asked what the most important thing was to repair, he stated the front lower control arms, quote of $2,100. At this point I was livid because I didn't need to know every single thing wrong with me car, I needed to know specifically what I was hearing. I told them I wouldn't be repairing it there and went to pick it up. Was charged $240 for a 3 day diagnosis. Our car started running rough and the Check Engine light was flashing . We were 4 blocks from Kittle Garage and knew that they USED TO BE A REPUTABLE BUSINESS! They claimed they did a PROFESSIONAL, THOROUGH INSPECTION , said the spark plugs needed to be replaced. They said the oil was low on the stick and dark so they recommended an oil change. They also said there was some corrosion on the battery cable that they would clean. They charged us $500+ for six spark plugs replacement, $166+ for the oil change (they gave us the wrong dipstick) and $94+ to clean the battery cables ( they didn't do a thorough job of that). When we picked up our car there was a long crack in the windshield. They said it was there when we brought it in. It wasn't !! Their PROFESSIONAL, THOROUGH INSPECTION didn't see a 9 inch long crack in the windshield until we brought it to their attention? I asked them to do the honorable thing and replace the windshield . They're "Sending it to management ". ? New management is ruining Kittle Garage's excellent reputation. read more

I was really surprised with my last visit to Kittles , after I picked my car up and took it home I had them to check and bleed the brak line's anyway who I got home the brake fluid ran out on the ground I took it back and I was told that the Abs leaked the fluid out, they never ch the car , a friend drove the car home after putting fluid in no trouble with the brakes I had to pay and additional 300.00 dollars to check what they messed up. be ware of this place read more

service was horrible this shop does not provide clear service they will add all types of fees upon you picking up your vehicle. the biggest issue is the 250 dollar service fee. NEVER, NEVER take your car to this garage. And for those of you who thought this was a good garage in days gone by, well it has DEFINITELY changed. AND how this garage has earned the BBB rating it has, I will never know, especially in the light of other review sources I see online. I went in trying to get a Wheel Bearing replaced and they charge 6 times (not exaggerating) the price you find at many other places (See Fosters Garage Review). And you have to pay $300 just to let them look at the problem. The shortened Story: In June '23, I began noticing a small grinding sound in the left side, front end of my 2013 Toyota Highlander. In Sept, I brought it to Kittles, mainly based on the BBB rating. Well, to shorten the story, they called and found the issue on the right side AND the Knuckle Assy that holds this bearing had to be replaced too. (RARELY needs to be replaced, pretty much only if it has been in a wreck as per other garages i have talked to since.) Due to urgent issues and needing to get my car back in 3 days, I let them do the work which started out at a high price of $1800 and the total bill came to $2300 because of the extra labor. (Now the Kicker) BUT when I got the car back, the grinding sound was still there on the left side and then they told me, "By the way, you need to get the left wheel bearing changed to. . .estimate - $1400". (My Opinion, they were obviously looking for extra work by not fixing the original problem) Needless to say, I did not use them. But to add to the story, after getting the car back and not having driven more than 40 miles, the car broke down while my Wife was driving it, in Mid traffic on a busy road, which then finally had to be towed to another garage (Fosters Garage), all due directly to how Kittles hooked up the right-side wheel to the axle. (Kittles did end up paying for that repair). Never Again. read more

We then looked and saw that we were charged $145 for an oil change on a Chevy Cruze. We hadn't been since before the pandemic. Due to their new cost of repair not sure if we will return. read more

Cant say enough good things. They'll advocate for you if need be and go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of.

They are hit and miss on their $200 diagnostic fee. They totally mis diagnosed my problem for a rattle and quoted over $3000 to replace front end parts which I replaced or had replaced 2 years earlier. I said no and prayed that I would find what the real problem was. The more I drove it I slowly came to the conclusion that it might be a transmission problem. I took it to Budget Transmisssion and he told me it was the torque convertor. After leaving it with them for quite a while they found it was a worn out carrier bearing supporting the rear drive axle and cost $485 to repair. Kittles wasn't even close in their $200 diagnostic fee and would'nt have fixed the problem. I would really have liked to find a good car repair shop but they aren't it as far as I'm concerned. read more

My vehicle recently broke down in Little Rock on a Saturday afternoon. I had my vehicle towed to Kittle's, as they came highly recommended by a good friend. My issue with Kittle's is not the quality of service- it is some serious price gouging. I was already pretty sure my alternator had went bad, which was confirmed by a phone call with the repair shop on Monday. When I went there the following Tuesday to pick up my vehicle, I was presented with a bill for $431 and change. Upon returning from Little Rock, I stopped at the repair shop I use locally, by where I live. First, I was charged $251 for a remanufactured alternator, but I could get one at a local parts store for $149, and a brand new one for $163. Next, I was charged $128 for labor. The labor manual that all shops use calls for .8 hours of labor, which means Kittle's charged me at a rate of approximately $140 per hour. When I was paying the bill, I asked how much their hourly labor rate was, and was told, " "Oh, it varies." I knew right then and there I was being taken. They also charged me an "environmental fee" like for oil or tire disposal, and other off-the-wall charges. Don't take your vehicle here. They will rip you off. read more

We were taking a cross-country trip and kinda freaked out when our check engine light went on while we were passing through Arkansas. As you can imagine, it was nerve-wracking to try and find a local mechanic before we could leave the area. Even though this is the only review on yelp (so far) there were at least five Google reviews listing this as a five star place. Thank you, reviewers, because our experience here was excellent. The gentleman at the garage was very friendly and asked how he could help. We told him about the light and he hooked his diagnostic machine up to our car. He said we must have just gotten some air in the line from pumping gas and it was no real issue. He reset if for us at no charge and sent us on our way. Took my vehicle here because I thought I was having issues with my fuel pump. They said they HAD to be sure it was the issue so they quoted me a price to do a diagnostic. After doing the diagnostic the didn't find the problem so they did another one. They actually kept my car for far longer than I was expecting. The second diagnostic they did they did without notifying me first so I had never agreed to pay for it. The technician calls me with surprising news; WELL WADDYA KNOW ITS YOUR FUEL PUMP. Let's just say I was not impressed with their findings. When I went to pick up my car they hit me with a price tag double what I was quoted because "they had to do a second diagnostic". So they wouldn't give me my keys unless I paid so I paid the money and had to drive my car in horrible shape back home because I no longer wanted to do business with them after the stunt they pulled. I took my car to another place where it was diagnosed of no charge and repaired the same day for the same price that this place had overcharge charged me. In all I was out of a ton of money for a simple repair due to their fraudulent practices. I think it's important to note that I am a woman. I would have gladly paid for the diagnostic and the repairs but this company chose to extract money out of me by being deceptive and dishonest. This happened a couple years ago but it's something that really stuck with me long enough that I had to come back here and share my experience. My brakes went out on me on the way home. Lucky for me I was down the street from Kittles Garage and I was able to coast in there to get my vehicle fixed. Car trouble is no fun. Car trouble when you're out of town is even less fun. If it happens to you, you'd better hope that you're visiting (North) Little Rock, Arkansas, where Kittle's Garage has got your back. After TWO unsuccessful runs at other garages (one couldn't fix the rattle (twice), the other said within seconds that it was a major issue that would cost a TON), it was gonna take a lot to calm my annoyance with the auto repair industry... The friendly and professional folks at Kittle's pulled it off. A hanger weld had broken. Yeah, there was a bit of confusion with someone out sick and they kept the car a day longer than expected, but it got fixed and the rattle was gone. The price? Free. "Because we kept it longer than we said for such an easy thing to repair." There was, however, a different noise they heard while test driving the car, and I left it with them again to fix the presumed failing wheel bearing. But wait! What's this? When test driving the car before the job they discerned that it was not in fact a bearing but a non-critical early-wear indication in another system -- as in the kind that you wait until it actually fails before doing anything (unlike a bearing.) In other words, I'm good to go! (Again at no charge.) In the end was this a lot of back and forth for one pretty simple repair? Yup. Am I bothered by that? Not a whit. When a place gets the job done right, makes it gratis due to a minor delay, alerts me to a potential hazard and finally saves me some hundreds because they are thorough and don't mind pointing out that the vehicle's ok after double-checking, I call it good business. All I wanted was honest dependable auto repair and wound up being disappointed time and time again. I really did my best to give this business the benefit of the doubt, but after my last visit I decided that maybe they just don't have good mechanics. I took my truck there and was told that I needed a new distributor. I had them to go ahead and do the work and paid the bill. It wasn't fixed. After taking it back several times and getting the same poor results I ended up selling that truck for about a third of its value. I now have a new truck and believe me it will never see that place. read more

After using Kittle's Garage for several of our vehicles over the past couple of months, communication has lacked from prior visits. If you talk to anyone other than Richard, you get attitude or condesending language. Plus, we took a vehicle in for an oil change, and without knowing, they completed the oil change and then voluntarily changed out the cabin filter for another $52! The next day, we had diagnostic service done on a vehicle and it cost more for a regular truck diagnotic ($172) than it does to have a diesel diagnostic done at the dealership ($125)! Driving through Arkansas on the way to Memphis on a Sunday evening when my car broke down. This garage was recommended by AAA and the tow driver said it was an excellent choice. Left it at their shop overnight with a note on my keys, which I dropped in the mail slot. Called them the next morning and they had already begun the inspection to determine what repairs were needed. Once that was done I received a call from Rick to discuss the repairs and was told that the part was ordered from the Toyota dealer and would be available the next day. Instead of waiting for the part to be delivered to their shop by the dealer, they went and picked it up themselves and saved several hours. Once repairs were completed they called and even sent a driver to pick me up at my hotel to bring me to the shop to pick up my vehicle. Dealt with Rick, Liz and Keith and each was pleasant, personable and professional. They definitely made a bad situation bearable. read more
