I can't even begin to describe how much our older cat will ONLY use Kitty Mansions cat trees, LOL! I forget which website I used to purchase our first one, but it was called something like Redwoods or something and it was vertical in design with a tree type decor and a few cubby spots, etc... That lasted us a few years and then boom.... 2020. During the pandemic, so many people were either at home, working from home, or just not leaving their house in general. When I went to find the next kitty mansion tree for the house, they were out of all the sizings I wanted in a gray type color. Our cats are black so we typically stay away from the beige or light colored trees, because they start looking like trash after just a little bit of all the fur. Next, we had the redwoods type design in brown, but I wanted something new! In the midst of waiting for the right color design to be back in stock, I had purchased your standard mid-sized cat tree at the local pet store. I kid you not, Penelope took one look at that tree like I had just brought home a popsicle full of vomit. She would NOT use it! At all. We had it maybe the whole year. Wouldn't use it. I finally found a color and size in a kitty mansion tree and she jumped on it right away like, Pfffft..... finally these humans listen! I wanted to buy a tree for my two cats but really didn't want to spend a lot of money. I didn't think the trees available at Petsmart/Petco were enough value for the price so I started searching online and found Kitty Mansions. We liked the look of the towers and they were affordable enough that we thought they were worth the risk of ordering without seeing in person. We ordered the Toronto cat tree (grey color) in July 2011 (http://www.kittymansions.com/Toronto-Cat-Tree-Furniture-Condo-p/toronto.htm). The tree arrived very quickly and was really easy to assemble (less than an hour). The cats love the tree and take turns sleeping on the highest perch. It has been used heavily for almost four months now and there is no sign of wear and tear. All of the posts have sisal rope wrapped around them for scratching (which the cats love) and while the carpet is not the highest quality, it is very soft and has held up to our cats' use (the carpet is not used on areas that cats would typically scratch). Our tower is very stable, even when the cat uses the posts to climb from the floor to the top instead of the platforms (like climbing a tree)! The tower did come with a hang toy, which was ripped off within half an hour (but it's great without it). When I get a bigger place, I will definitely order another tower from Kitty Mansions so that the cats can have multiple hangouts. read more

Came here to check out cat trees with the little ones and things went pretty well. The staff was simply awesome! They were friendly and patient. They asked if I was looking for anything particular and I when I told them I was just checking them out, they told me they would be there if I had any questions. I appreciate it when workers actually leave me alone to be able to actually check things out. It gets kind of awkward when workers are hovering around you the entire time. The kids and I were able to check things out in peace and they enjoyed the cats that were there running around. It was nice to see how cats love these things. It was getting difficult and embarrassing to stop the kids from wanting to take the cats home and to want to join the cats in the cat trees, but the staff was cool about it and we shared a few laughs. The showroom wasn't was big as I imagined but I ended up being grateful because I'm sure I would have lost a kid if it was any bigger. They had a good amount of cat trees on display for you to check out and see the build and quality of their products. They showed me their website which had tons of cat trees and helped me navigate through the site (which wasn't difficult at all). This place gets 5 stars from me because they respected my personal space and allowed me to shop in peace. They staff was there when I needed them. They didn't get mad at the little ones trying to steal their cats or climb on the cat trees. Most importantly, they didn't try to force a sale. Found these folks on craigslist.org! Looking for a kitty condo/tree for your spoiled feline--drive down to Montclair! These folks sell a wide array of kitty condos/mansions at dirt cheap prices compared to PetCo or PetSmart AND they have a much larger selection. I personally bought the "Florence" for 48 bucks and the thing is BIG. The materials they use are a bit cheaper. For example rather than using real carpet, these mansions are made with plush fabric (faux fur) and particle board. The shelf life of these mansions really depend on how much your cat uses it. I didn't order it online--I came down to the warehouse to buy and they made it real clear on the craigslist.org ad that they only accept cash. The furniture comes in a box and is really easy to assemble. I would recommend checking if all parts and instructions are in the box before you drive home. Nice people at the warehouse and they will assemble and model if it's not out already. Word has it that MORE models will come out in about a month. This was my first trip to Kitty Mansions, and it was well worth it. The showroom is small and does not have everything they offer online, but the staff is great to work with to get what you are looking for. Plus the show room is clean and well kept up for having 4 cats running around all day. They have 4 cats that roam around climbing on the displays which is great because you can see how well built, and how sturdy they are with a cat on them. The kitty mansions are very easy to put together, the 2 I bought only took about an hour total including clean up. The only 2 things that are downside is one this store is not a huge display setup in the store area, so choices are kind of limited. The other is the poles that are used in building are not marked. You have to lay all of them out in a row and figure out which one needs to be used, but it is not a hard thing to figure out. I didn't find it annoying enough to even deduct a star. The store staff loaded the car for me and even gave me a heads up on how to figure out the poles so the assembly would go easy for me. I will be going back again, the price makes up for the drive, and they are easily half the price of the chain pet stores. read more

Good product and excellent customer service! They also go by the business name of Cat Tree which is displayed outside their office/showroom building. In addition to carrying cat furniture, they carry 3 different sizes of foldable wired dog crates. I recently purchased the large crate from the owner. The crate is of good quality but workmanship and material quality of crates from Petco and Petsmart rate higher (they also cost about 40% more) than these ones. I like that the pan is made of metal as opposed to ABS plastic from the chain store ones. Good product that's not about to break quickly. My pup used the large crate but it turned out to be too big for her especially since she had seperation anxiety. She scratched up the bottom of the pan. I called to see if I could exchange it down to the next smaller size and explaned the situation. The clerk was nice about it and told me it was exchangable even though the pan was scratched and I junked the box. I would recommend friends buy their dog crates from this store because their customer service is impressive and the prices of their dog crates are more than competitive. read more

The large kitty mansion I bought last year is falling apart already. The top perches, all three are loose and sway when my cats jump up on them. The posts can't be tightened further due to the apparent low quality of the particle board used. The particle board under where the screws tighten in is falling apart. I really expected a better quality product, as the previous perch I bought at Costco is still intact after 10+ years. Poor quality product. I guess you get what you pay for. Reading several reviews, I was so excited to get my cats a lovely cat tree. Their prices are lower compared to what they sell at petstores, but the quality of the cat tree isn't the best either. Our brand new cat tree had hot glue gun on the carpet that we had to pick off (would be toxic to cats if they ate it) and it is made from particle board. We got a medium sized tree, but it is WAY too small for adult cats. They can barely sit on it, let alone go into the little "housing compartments" that it came with. On their website, it says guaranteed to ship within 24 hours within order but that is totally a lie....took them 3 days to process my order. And Fedex order within 3 days? BS!!! Took 10+ days for the tree to arrive after it has been processed and shipped. On top of that, they did not honor the 15% discount coupon that they had advertised. (I even had picture proof). Overall, it's an ok product. Probably would not buy from them again. read more

This place is amazing!! They sell replacement parts for their cat trees. My two boys are two now and have tried their best to destroy the downstairs cat tree. They are rough on all toys and scratchers and I'm surprised at how well my Kittty Mansions cat trees have stood up to their abuse. Two of the bottom sisal poles were looking pretty shredded and one of the ones holding up a bed had been broken [They cracked the part where it attaches, probably by launching themselves at it at full force and wrestling. They are big cats at currently 12 and 15 pounds]. Every other type of cat tree I've seen and used requires you to just replace it when components get broken or over used, but Kitty Mansions sells the sisal poles and replacement beds. I bought a few of the poles at a reasonable price and it was easy to sort of partially rebuild the cat tree with the new parts. I also used the opportunity to do a vacuum/deep clean and now the tree looks practically new. My boys love both cat trees and use them every day. I also bought one of their cat trees for my niece, and after this positive experience it is the only company I will go to for future purchases. read more

I recently purchased a "Memphis" cat tree. Price was great but I guess you get what you pay for. I was surprised that it was made in China --shock, shock. There is minimal padding and it is smaller than I thought it would be. It is shakey in its construction , also. There is a metal screw right in the middle of the enclosed condo part . I put a towel over it . Doesn't matter. My nine pound cat won't go near it. I bribed her twice with food to get on it and that was IT ! It is too expensive to ship back. If you need a cat tree, this place is awesome. They have great prices. My cat is scared of scratching posts, so I didn't want to spend a fortune for one. I wish I could say he loves it, but at least I can say he's not scared of it. So the place is in a little warehouse/business section of town. I walk in and it is cat tree heaven. They are set up everywhere. As soon as I walk in a gentleman comes out of an office to greet me. I tell him my situation and he shows me the cheapest one they have. It was $35-40, I can't remember. But what is important is it was 3 times what you would get at a Petco/smart store. As soon as he pointed it out a cat jumps up on it and starts playing and demoing the thing. Nice touch. I ended up spending $70. It has 3 levels, a house, a bed thing, several toys, a scratchy spiny thing, multicolored, some cat paw design on the house. I was happy, if I was a cat, I would have loved it. My cat is a cat, so he isn't happy, he is still cautious. Maybe in 6 months I will know if he likes it, ... cats. After making my selection, I was shocked when he came out with this little box. It was a 35 pound little box, but still smaller than I expected. But I just threw it in the front seat. Cool. I put it together in about 5 minutes. It looks good. Solid. I'm happy with it. If you need a cat tree, check this place out. At least check there site. read more

Phenomenal customer service for a very good product. We have had multiple "kitty condos" over the past 25 years and ordering one online was a little anxiety-producing. We ordered the Shanghai and received AMAZING delivery time. We were, however, disappointed to receive a color that looked very different from the photo and description. We contacted Kitty Mansions worried that we were stuck with what we thought was an ugly color. On the contrary, they were apologetic, QUICK to provide a replacement option, and sent the replacement before receiving the return. AND the return shipping was also paid. My wife and I went there to see cat trees for our lil Sal. We got there early and The guy actually let us in a half hour early. There were over 50 cat houses assembled and they had several beautiful cats demons demonstrating them. I love this place! We bought our cathouse and Sal loves it even though hes a little small for it he goes all the way to the top and perches up there. You cant go there and not have a good time! Don't believe the 100% satisfaction guaranteed claim on their website. The cat tree I received was good quality;however my cats were not the slightest bit interested. There are no return procedures on their website, just says "contact customer service." But there is no telephone number to do so. I emailed them and they responded quickly. I was disappointed to learn that I have to pay a 20% restocking fee and the shipping costs. So basically, I am paying them $40 for me to "try" their product. I can't see ordering from them again based on this policy. You never know what cats are going to respond to - it is too risky. read more

I purchased The Denver model online. It arrived in two days! Although the the box was very heavy (it took two of us to carry it in), all pieces and parts were well packed and accounted for (although the box it arrived in looked like it went through a war zone.). The assembly directions are one page and visual only -- no written instructions. Make sure you carefully figure out the lengths of each post, some are so close to each other in size that I almost made the mistake of using the wrong post in the beginning that near the end would have required a complete dis-assembly. The post lengths are in metric (cm) not inches. I was able to assemble the entire condo by myself within one hour. Have patience. It actually is very easy. All tools come with it. The color of the "carpet" that covered The Denver is a light tan, which is acceptable. It's very soft and clean. I couldn't wait for my two kitties to see it! I placed the new condo right next to my ancient and well-used cat tree so the cats could jump back and forth. It is taking them some time to warm up to the idea of having alternative places to sleep; but, I know my boys. By this time next week, they'll be all over it. I will research US made trees and altho I really like it as well as my kitten does, do I know what chemicals they put in the particle board???? NO I do know they put melamine in our pet food. I'd been looking for a cat tree for a long time. I saw one at Pets-Mart that was 179 dollars...It was some cheapo brand and not even half the size or quality of what I wanted for a multiple cat (4) household. I googled 'cat trees' and kitty mansions popped up. WOW! I found exactly what I wanted for them. It arrived fairly quickly. I ordered the 'Denver' model. I am so glad the shipping was free, cause the box weighed 65 pounds! I know that from the weight sticker on the box. (poor UPS guy). My only complaint was that there was no phone number to order from on their website so I had to email the company and have them call me to place an order, and the only instructions for the cat tree was a picture diagram that the print was so small on I had to use a magnifying glass to read/see it. I ended up having to look at the picture of the model on their website to figure out how to put it together. I started 'construction' at 6 pm, and didn't get done till 1 am. So far so good, the cats like it, and it seems to be very sturdy. Our 'Alpha' cat can get away from the other cats by retreating to one of the 'toadstools' and the fighting is a lot better since he has his own space now.
