We had our carpets services by a KIWI technician on 2-23-2011. He charged an extra $32.45 because of some urine stains that needed to be treated and the stain in a bedroom. We made sure to show him that stain and all the other stains that we needed to make sure he got rid of. The night of the cleaning all of us were complaining of the intense chemical/urine/vomit smell or fumes the carpets were emitting. It was a chemical smell/fumes. Our noses/throats were burning and our eyes were watering. I was having a rough time breathing as it was causing my asthma to kick up. I didn't sleep the entire night because of the smell and fumes. My daughter could not sleep in her room as it smelled like vomit and chemicals. And she still can't sleep in her room or even be in her room. The rest of the carpets smelled like urine and chemicals and are tolerable to be in now, but it has made the house stink! I had already contacted customer care the day of the service to complain. Jack set up another cleaning for today. After I complained I noticed some stains that weren't removed and the urine/chemical smell that seemed to get worse and cause physical reactions over time. I did call yesterday as I can NOT go through another sleepless night scared about my health and my family's health. I told customer care that I can't let someone back in the house to do this same kind of cleaning as it is detrimental to our health and also explained our experience in detail. She tried to schedule someone to come out and I told her that I needed to cancel that as I can't risk it. I told her I needed my money back and then I'd have to hire another service that can get this chemical, all the spots, vomit and everything else out of my carpet. I'm really concerned if living here and being here is compromising our health. She stated she'd need to have the resolution specialist (Elizabeth C.) call me. I asked if that call would be today and she said yes. Friday the 25th, we had a "real" carpet cleaner come and get the chemicals, stains, smell and the blue nail polish stain out of the carpet that KIWI left behind and he did his best to fix my daughter's room. My daughter's room is still an issue. KIWI ground the vomit into the pad with their bonnet and their chemicals. My daughter still can't sleep in there to this day (3-2-2011). I spoke with Summer in the resolution department (you know if a company has a resolution department then you aren't the only one that has issues with their company). She tried to get me to understand their methods and how it is green, etc. I told her that nothing about butoxyethanol is green *** (see next paragraph explaining more). Butoxyethanol is the chemical that they used in my house. *** The chemical that KIWI used is called UPT. It's made up of butoxyethanol. I called over 10 carpet cleaning companies as I needed someone to come that very day. Every one of them made comments about this chemical. Several stated this chemical hasn't been used for over 10 years, one said that chemical isn't supposed to be used in occupied houses, another carpet cleaner asked if my family was breathing alright as that was a chemical (when he used it 10+ years ago) that causes respiratory issues. Not one person, in the industry, had anything good to say about that chemical. The MSDS states "Inhalation may cause irritation of the respiratory tract. Vapors may irritate eyes. Direct or prolonged contact with eyes will be painful and irritating. Can cause GI irritation. Has a health hazard risk. Irritating to the respiratory and digestive tract, acute nervous system, eyes and skin, harmful if swallowed." This MSDS sheet information is probably why I'm having asthma issues (I haven't had problems with my asthma in over 10 years). I leave the house and 10 minutes after being gone start breathing better. It's been an awful experience!!! read more

RUN AWAY....Thieves, Liars and Unreliable MAY 2021: We hired KIWI services to come to our house in North Fort Worth and clean around 400sf of tile, as well as seal the tile grout. These are two distinct services charged separately. Our technician's name was Shafi. (SHAFI tattoo on his arm is only way i can spell this name correctly). As Shafi showed up to my house, my wife handled the greeting and showed him the tile. I was working from home in my office. Shafi was not aware a husband was home, cleaned the tile, and then told my wife he sealed the floors with the cleaning itself and a separate process is not required. Shafi was surprised when i came out of my office. (noticing now that the husband is home and he just lied to my wife) At this point, i asked Shafi why he is about to leave our home when the floor grout has not been sealed. He then doubles down on the lie, and tells me the same lie. This is theft, as services we paid for were not rendered. We then called Kiwi Services and Shirley advised us that we are correct about the grout sealing, and that the technician lied to us. They promised to send out another tech to finish the job we paid for. The first appointment a week later, they called us and cancelled because they had no available technicians. So a 2nd reschedule occurs, and surprise surprise....another cancellation call from Kiwi. We have now moved all of our furniture and other items 3 times now for nothing. This is a lot of wasted time and effort. Additionally, 3 weeks have gone by with KIWI stealing our money and our grout is already filthy from not being sealed. We have since called back to complain about this rediculous service and deceptive practices. Shirley speaks to her boss Elizabeth, and they decide to come back tomorrow to clean and seal the grout, as well as refund us our money (which i demanded). Incredibly enough, a person named Rebecca Kierstead calls us back an hour later to cancel what they promised. We are advised that we will only be receiving the refund now. This is the most dishonest service industry company i've ever dealt with before. The sexism was on full display as they attempted to take advantage of my wife, and then refused to make it right. Getting our money back has required extensive time and energy. Do yourself a favor. Use ANYONE but Kiwi Services unless you want to experience the nightmare we just went through. read more

Don't be fooled by their clever marketing of a joyful website with fairytales of being fully insured, of having certified professional technicians, of EVEN BEING water restoration specialists, all with a YES, SIR attitude! Once the super helpful and happy phone rep takes your money.....You will get a sub contractor in a beat up personal vehicle and all bets are off as to what will happen next! The Company failed us in every way! We fell for their marketing. They took our money. They cleaned our floors using buckets of water thrown around on our tiles floors then suctioned up. (This was their tile clean and grout restoration) They caused MAJOR water damage in our home. They did not send any water restoration experts. They lied. They refused responsibility. They refused to provide us with insurance information. They did not file a insurance claim. No refunds whatsoever. They stopped responding. Where is the super chipper customer service now? We paid over a thousand to Kiwi to clean our entire home flooring and it has cost us THOUSANDS more in restoration and repairs! We have proof, pictures, videos, voicemails, AND emails. Take your business elsewhere unless you want a legal battle! Not worth the money. At no point to they do any kind of suction/vacuum on your carpets to get any dirt up/out of it whatsoever. The tech even goes as far to tell you that you must wait until carpet dries and vacuum yourself to get any of the dirt out of the carpet. What did I pay for? I thought I was hiring someone to clean my carpets. Tech was transparent and explained it all to me. Basically they spray simple green on your carpet and then use a small floor waxer with a brush pad on it to rub and grind that into your carpet. Thats it. You want the dirt out?? Better wait 2 hours for the carpet to dry and vacuum yourself because none of the dirt comes out until you do. Tech was in and out of my 2500 sq ft hosue in about 45 mintues. Was wearing some super dirty work shoes with no protectors. But they dont need to since they are doing nothing but spraying your carpet with simple green and then rubbing it and whatever dirt is already in your carpet even further into it. I did as instructed and vacuumed my carpets when they dried. They do look better so the spray did something. They do not look nearly as good as other services who actually shampoo/steam/etc your carpets. So Kiwi gets 2 stars and will never get my business again for any of their services. I feel like based off the work that was done I should have paid about $75 which was ~1/3 of what I actually paid. read more

I used Kiwi's air duct cleaning services for the first time. From the first time I spoke with the representative to the technician being at my door they have been great. Their customer service is outstanding and you can tell that they actually care. When I made the appointment with the technician he said that the technician would be there from 8-12. I wasn't expecting anyone until 10 or 11. I heard a knock at my door at 8:10 it was my technician. I opened the door he walked through the house and looked at the vents and quoted me. The number that I told them over the phone wasn't correct. The technician cleaned all f our vents and even replaced some of the vents that were too old and dirty. Our technician's name was Binara he cleaned all of our vents and put the covers back on for us. The job took him about 4 hours to complete & I can honestly say that we can feel a difference in the air. My family & I definitely appreciate the job that Kiwi did & we will definitely be using Kiwi for our future air dcut cleanings. read more

This has proven to be a great deal and kept our carpet looking great. They have all worked tremendously hard to get out even the most damaging stains, even the ones that I thought we would live with forever. I have been a Kiwi customer since about 1996. We used to host a bible study small group in our home from 2 to 4 nights per month. No matter what type of mess we made having food and drink over the carpet, Kiwi was able to clean it up no problem - and it was great having the convenience of getting them out multiple times per year without the expense of a separate carpet cleaner. I had tried various other forms of steam cleaning and do it yourself, but nothing compares to Kiwi. Now, I have kids and we are still under contract with them 14 years and 3 houses later. I do not recommend. I scheduled them to come out to clean upholstery, and all of the pieces cleaned are now slightly faded. In addition, the tech (although very nice) kept trying to upsell me to other services, not to mention, despite several reminders about keeping water off of my hardwood floors, he drenched them.
