I've been here 3 times and despite being on the menu, they were unavailable each time for varied reasons (amusingly, one was that the cook doesn't know how to make them). The food menu appears aspirational, like they copied another successful restaurant's menu but never learned how to prepare the dishes. Eggs came out overcooked and brown, churros french toast went beyond crunchy to hard. Went here for brunch with a friend and it was so yummy! First impression, SUPER CUTE even the outside. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady as soon as we walked in, immediately seated and our drinks and food came out pretty quickly. We got the Mermaid Latte and the Blue Moon Milk Latte. My friend had her birthday lunch here and the cafe itself was a little on the warmer side, seating wasn't very great, we sat on a really droopy couch so it was uncomfortable to eat. However, the food was superb, all of us had different dishes and we all loved our meals. I personally got the Nutella Croffles which were amazing, so fresh! Their signature lattes were also really well crafted, perfect taste to their description. Great atmosphere, great coffee, but the girl working was very rude to a group of young girls (probably around 12 years old) because they didn't tip. What 12 year old knows to tip? She was talking horribly about them after they left to other customers (who were about 15-16) saying that they were annoying and that one fell out of her chair and it was funny. Then she went to the back and loudly talked more trash about these little girls. I've never seen such nasty behavior from a 20 something girl in customer service, especially towards such a young group of girls. I was so excited to go here for breakfast after seeing all their social media photos. I even saw they said they were dog friendly--photos of cute dogs sitting on couches inside. -1 I arrived with my small quiet dog and was told I had to sit outside. They put us at an awkward wood end-table with crazy uncomfortable chairs. -2 I asked the server to recommend a special drink. She started telling me ingredients and when I told her I can't have any artificial sweeteners, she told me I couldn't have any of the specialty drinks then. I asked why not if they had "organic Lemonade" as it stated in the menu. This review is for the high tea only. I came with my mom on a Friday afternoon and the high tea was absolutely delicious! When we called ahead we let them know a few of our allergies and they accommodated our requests and came up with some fantastic substitutions. Our tea tower included croquettes, mini quiches, spanakopita, shrimp and avocado toast, burrata prosciutto avocado toast, cucumber toast with salami and ham, falafel, chicken and waffles, scones, and an assortment of cookies and desserts. Everything tasted so fresh and absolutely delicious. Service was great and we didn't feel rushed at all. The shop was cozy and super cute. I have been to many places for their high tea and this was the best one yet. They actually served a variety of options that were not only tasty but filling too! I ordered a cappuccino which was great and my mom had the raspberry tea which we both loved. I would highly recommend the high tea at Kixi, just be sure to call at least 24 hours in advance and make a reservation for it. read more
