My husband and I stopped in for dinner and we were in and out within an hour. Staff members were on top of their game. Within 5 minutes of us ordering, the rolls were on their way to our table. We ordered 4 rolls - Picasso, karma, dynamite, and Medusa. My favorite was the Picasso. It was light, refreshing and very tasty. I would order this again next time. Wow, Kizuna Sushi fires on all cylinders and serves some delicious sushi! Despite driving past MANY times we finally decided to stop in - normally we frequent Sushi Ukai in downtown Glen Ellyn due to proximity. We were delighted by an enthusiastic greeting from the host and the rapidity at which our server arrived at our table. We took a bit to surveyed the menu but ultimately made our selections. The highlight: the appropriately priced Miso Soup! (usually places gouge you on it) Oh, and, of course, the sushi - DELICIOUS and FRESH! We had a decent selection of rolls and each were phenomenal! whoever owns or runs this place needs to check back in. I had a reservation 530 it's 652 PM and we just left after waiting an hour and 20 minutes for four regular rolls and one specialty. It seems that the Kitchen kept prioritizing to go orders and not people who were sat at the restaurant. Two other tables that were sitting outside complained. by the time I spoke with the poor server, I told him if our food was not next or ready to just cancel and we were leaving. Decided to stop in as they are on the Hilton Dining program list. We got there as soon as they opened. The inside is super cute. The sushi rolls range in price, but I appreciated they had both basic and more fancy rolls. After seeing previous reviews on the turtle roll, I decided to try it. Unfortunately this once excellent creative sushi place has slipped into the just ok category. The flavors of the specialty rolls are not balanced and the accompanying sauces are not as flavorful as before. The rolls are too stuffed and look sloppy. The original chef must have left or transferred as no longer see him, suspect he was the creative success of the startup for this place. Poor ventilation results in stinky clothes and coats. The spider roll was probably my second favorite after that. This place kind of has a tiki bar feel when you walk in. We were greeted by what appeared to be the one man show of host and server. You can see the sushi chefs by the entrance but they are tucked around the corner. The server was great consdering how busy he was. My only complaint would be their hours are a little wanky. They were closed on a couple of occasions where it showed online they were open (Valentine's Day & New Years Eve). Update: We physically came to the restaurant on Valentine's on a whim to see if they were open and they were. They must shut down the online ordering option when there's a higher dine in volume. We've been on the hunt for our new favorite sushi spot and we have found it! The sashimi platter was super fresh, beautiful presentation and they cut each piece into four so all of us could have a taste. Had six different rolls and all were really good to amazing, we would order all of them again. The flavors were all fresh, the rolls were cut into properly narrow slices, nothing fell apart and perfectly bit sized pieces . GLUTEN FREE EVERYTHING!!! I've been gluten free since I was 7 years old and I've never had this many sushi options. Phenomenal sushi as well, and so many options. Their crab mix is gluten free which is rare, same with their seaweed salad. Gf soy sauce, etc. If something's not gluten free, they can pretty much tweak it to be. But the speciality rolls are mostly all gluten free anyway. The service was amazing and they are so welcoming and kind. Decent pricing for such quality sushi. It seems this place is highly regarded online, so we made a point to stop in. We arrived on a Monday about 15 minutes after they opened. The restaurant was kind of dirty, presumably from the night before. There were crumbs and such on the seats; the menus were spotty and sticky. Worse yet, my husband and I both had long strands of human hair in our cloth napkins (I don't know about him, but mine had A LOT). The napkins were probably laundered, but for some reason there was still a ton of hair I had to remove. This all made a pretty bad impression that contributes a lot to my relatively low score. We were also seated in the dark. The recessed lighting was there, but all turned off. There was some daylight coming in since it was like 3:15pm, but our table was far enough away from the window that it was weirdly dim. That covers all of the main issues. Otherwise, the service was quick and friendly. The food was also good, to varying degrees. We ordered three different rolls: the Garlic Salmon, the Chill Mango, and the Dragon. That was the order in which they came out, and also a list of the best to the worst (though none were bad). The garlic salmon was actually amazing. So very, very good. The Chill Mango was one of their vegetarian options, and it was reasonably enjoyable, but the garlic salmon was a tough act to follow. Finally, my husband always gets these Dragon roll type things at sushi places, but this was not one of our favorite versions. It was kind of heavy and the flavor just didn't hit the mark for us. All in all, I don't think we will be back here in a hurry due to the issues I stated, although the menu was pretty interesting overall, and the garlic salmon made an impression. Kaido sushi serves similarly tasty rolls, so I would probably sooner go there when I am needing next level sushi. read more

I love the spicy, citrus type of flavors vs. most sushi places only having spicy mayo and unagi sauces. The poke tacos were great. We had the Garlic Salmon, Zesty Islander, Picasso, and Karma rolls.
