Sweet 16 roll. Avocado and yellowtail sushi.

Good all you can eat sushi spot. Quick and easy place to be in and out of. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is okay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is my new favorite cheap AYCE sushi. For about 25 bucks you can have some pretty good quality nigiri and appetizers to satisfy your sushi cravings. The salmon and tuna nigiri were my favorite. Everything tasted fresh and the amount of rice they gave wasn't too much so you can capitalize on more fish. The speciality rolls they have here kinda sucks though. Their volcano roll and the tempura has way too much batter and just didn't taste good. Also, stay away from the cheap artificial appetizers. Edamame and seaweed is the best here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was very fast and atmosphere is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We like this place. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Depending on time and party size it can be a bit hectic but our family has been here several times and most recently tonight with a group of 7 adults and 2 toddlers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A bit of confusion with our ordering for so many people, but the food was good and clean high chairs are always a bonus![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place is phenomenal. They have some of the best sushi I've had in a long time. Their all you can eat is for $20 and they don't pack the rolls of just rice. The service is amazing. They consistently asked how we are doing and if we needed anything else. The place is dimly lit and is had a nice atmosphere to it but no designs that are too distracting. Highly recommend!

You better have a good appetite, because if you're doing AYCE sushi, you'll be challenged! It's $29.99 pp from 3-9 PM. There's a good number of special rolls included on the AYCE menu, but you can also get nigiri and appetizers like most places. Appetizers like miso soup, crab rangoon, and gyoza are all fine. Warning, the shumai is a little suss compared to everything else. Nigiri comes with big cuts of fish and this is great. I had tuna, white tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and more, and they all tasted fantastic. The one problem is that the amount of rice that is padded underneath is the most I've ever seen for nigiri. The rolls are the main attraction, and you'll be happy with the selection here. The mountain roll was one of my table's favorites, but you can't go wrong with any of the other choices. Hope you like shrimp, because it's in a lot of the rolls offered. Service is pretty fast, and the restaurant is clean. I even have friends come here for a la carte, and there's a nice variety on the regular menu. Despite the nigiri having an overwhelming amount of rice, everything else was great.

Hokkai sushi is in the Trader Joe's parking lot so it's easy to start thinking about sushi once you see the sign. I was turned off by the font on their sign- "Hokkai" in flames. Based on that alone, I didn't pop in... until today. The interior is modern and chic. It's dimly lit and decorated somewhere between awesome 80's and early 2000's club. For 1pm on a weekday, with an awesome lunch special, I expected it to be busy. It was dead! I asked my server about their busy time but she didn't speak much English. Everything was delicious and fresh. Everything was served beautifully- you can tell they spent time on the presentation. I appreciate that. I recommend Hokkai! But tell me the sign doesn't throw you off??!

I've only been here twice. According to their website, it says the ayce is something like $27. It's a bit higher than the last time I was there. I haven't been back in awhile since there are a lot more options now. I'll share some pictures, the menu is pretty much the same. If you are craving for sushi and on a budget, it's a good deal. If you care about the quality and have been to others, I would say the quality is eh.. mediocre. Nothing that would wow you. As for me, the quality was average, nothing more. Definitely check this place out if you don't feel like going to the Schaumburg area and are in the mood for a sushi fest.

3.5 stars. Love the option that they offer ayce sushi made to orders. Located in Trader Joe's plaza. The parking a lot needs some tlc but so so. Never been so was excited to try it out. However, all of the rolls include rice and are loaded with rice. They're is a disclaimer regarding them noting the customers must finish what they order in the menu or they'll be charged an additional fee. We did like that as they advertise one cost for ayce. The food was pretty good. The ambience is nice, clean, and service was just okay.

Misty S.

All you can eat sushi prices seem to be on the rise everywhere and Hokkai is comparable to others at $27.50 for AYCE dinner. The wait staff is attentive and seems to make their rounds every few minutes. There is no desserts on the AYCE menu, but who has room for that anyhow? Overall, great food, service and ambiance. Rolls Ordered Pop-up roll (topped with spicy tuna) - My favorite of the night, tasty spicy tuna. Chicago roll Green Turtle roll Angry Dragon roll Twister roll The nigiri's were pretty good, a bit heavy on the rice. The fried scallops appetizer was more like imitation crab, but fun to eat. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2022

Good sushi for the suburbs. All you can eat for lunch is worth it. The packet wasabi was a bit off putting but everything else was good!

Ask the Community - Hokkai Sushi

My wife and so are looking to do the all you can eat. She's in her 5th month of pregnancy. Are there any rolls that the business or community would recommend? Do's: cooked shellfish and eel Don't: Raw fish, tuna Any other suggestions?

There are cooked items on the all you can eat menu! California rolls, they used to have spider roll, edamame, salad, gyoza, deep fried goodies, soups, veggie rolls, Saba (is a marinaded-cooked kind of thing), etc. All the food is definitely very…

Do you have to pay for sushi you don't eat with the all you can eat sushi?

The menu says that you do have to pay for any roll or rice that you don't finish.

How much do they charge for infant/toddler?

My husband and I stopped in for dinner and we were in and out within an hour. Staff members were on top of their game. Within 5 minutes of us ordering, the rolls were on their way to our table. We were delighted by an enthusiastic greeting from the host and the rapidity at which our server arrived at our table. We took a bit to surveyed the menu but ultimately made our selections. The highlight: the appropriately priced Miso Soup! (usually places gouge you on it) Oh, and, of course, the sushi - DELICIOUS and FRESH! We had a decent selection of rolls and each were phenomenal! Same goes for the service: our waiter was everything one would hope for! We left knowing we'd found our new sushi home' Can't wait to return!

I went with the bento box B with the teriyaki chicken, and I can't really pick a clear standout. The teriyaki chicken was cooked perfectly and just hit right, but the fried vegetables were just as impressive. Light, crispy, not greasy at all. And yes, I said vegetables... I know, right. They kind of balance each other out, and honestly both were equally good for different reasons. I also grabbed a side of crab rangoon and yeah... those were crazy good. Crispy outside, creamy inside, just straight addictive. Only complaint is you get three. That's it. I could've put down 30 without even thinking about it. What I really liked is this place doesn't try too hard. The food is clean, fresh, and consistent. You can tell they care about what they're putting out. It's not some flashy, overhyped sushi spot, it's just solid across the board. The space is smaller and more on the cozy side, which honestly works in its favor. Easy to relax, not loud or chaotic. Service was friendly and on point without hovering. Overall, this is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot you want. Good food, good people, and a vibe that keeps you coming back.

The crab Rangoon would have been better as a dine in option as it cooled a bit too much once it got home. Good flavor and loved the spicy dipping sauce (which is often watered down at other places). VERY generous portions of sushi. Tuna, salmon, and yellowtail all delicious. 3 rolls: Pink Lady, Crunchy Roll, and Sweetheart Roll. The first and last had their own special sauces to add, which we each delicious. The crunchy roll was the least interesting, though still tasty. Will need to dine in next time to give the crab Rangoon a fair chance. Otherwise, I recommend a good takeout experience.

Interior is really simple and cute and they have options of all you can eat for $33 which is a great deal or à la carte. We chose à la carte as we weren't super hungry. We were so pleasantly surprised at the quality and amount of food that we were served. Everything was super fresh and delicious and there was so much food that we wound up taking some of it home. This time around, we ordered our usual appetizers - crab rangoons, shrimp shumai, chicken karaage, & miso soup - as well as a handful of rolls including the color dragon roll, regular dragon roll, fire dragon roll, yelllow tail roll, the sweet 16 roll, and an assortment of nigiri and sashimi. We ordered enough sushi to have it served on a boat (which is always such an exciting feeling!!). As usual, everything was fresh and tasty!
