This place is so so. Not sure why they have 4 stars. When we walked in, there was about only 3 tables with people in it. The older lady saw us, didn't greet us, didn't say anything and kind of just ignored us. Then she finally told her to write our name on the book. Like, there was barely anyone here. I ordered a la carte and the meat portion came out small, and not that fresh. Yes, there was a $5 charge for lettuce..$5!!!! I also ordered galbi tang for my daughter and requested that they do not put eggs in it because she is allergic to eggs. When the order came out, there was eggs in it. I told the server (older lady) that I requested for no eggs due to allergies. She shrugs and told me that she didn't take my order and that I can just swoop it out. Like what?!!! And then she proceeded to called our server (a young man) over and told me. He apologized profusely, took back the soup and said he will "pay" for our soup. We told him that he didn't need to, mistakes happens and we do not need him to pay for the soup. He ended up paying for our soup anyway. I definitely will not come back here. I love this place. This is about as legit as you can get. Who'd of thought you'd find good korean food especially in Beaverton. They have a great selection of food and drinks on the menu and the taste is on point. So good, I came here twice on my weekend trip. The staff is great and super friendly. They we're super busy both on Friday and Saturday, so it's understandable the kitchen was a bit behind. The waiters were fast and really accommodating especially when I had a few friends join my table. Def a great atmosphere to hang out and have loud conversations. Surprisingly good food but not without issues. The meats are great and you get a good portion... the sides that come with the courses were fantastic. I could be mistaken but i think we got pushed into ordering more than we needed... aka told we had to order a specific amount to sit where we were yet we couldnt find that anywhere on the menu or in the establishment. We were also given an item that we didnt order but it ended up on the bill and due to the language barrier we had with the server, i wasnt about to argue it. Plus, my family is japanese speaking which doesnt exactly help our case at a korean restaurant. It felt like our server instantly got colder to us once she heard us speaking japanese but thats life and a big cultural topic that i wasnt about to entice with trying to rectify our bill. I've been here twice now and I think I will keep going back. It's located in a convenient area in Beaverton with plenty of parking. I highly recommend making reservations or going early to sign in. Their service is fast and they don't skimp on the portions. The pricing is not too bad either. The staff have all been friendly, even with my fussy son. They offer a lot of suggestions and help to keep him calm. My favorite are the beef ribs. Not the la galbi, but the bigger galbi. So juicy! Also, the pork cheeks over the pork belly, pair them with some raw garlic slices, bean paste and lettuce. I'm salivating all over again. Really disappointing, overall. We were very excited to try this location after trying the 82nd ave one- however, we can confidently say that the locations are nothing alike. There was no all you can eat option (which was fine), but we were quickly ushered to our table, and rushed out. I had to walk to the front to grab our menus after a few minutes since it was clear no one was coming by with them. During our meal, I tried to flag down one of the waitresses multiple times to ask a question, just to be either ignored or cut short when I was talking. We didn't once have our waters re-filled and were given the bill before we had any opportunity to order anything else. I highly recommend going to the other Kkoki location if possible. read more

One word review: Yes. I moved here a a little over 2 months ago and have been going to different restaurants almost every day to get to know the city. I'm at about 40 different places, and to remember the restaurants that truly give me that Disney "Ratatouille" experience, I've been leaving reviews. This will be but my second review. I'll spare you the details of what I've ordered, but I will say that every item was thoughtfully prepared with the subtly or boldness that they required. It truly felt reminiscent of the childhood potlucks is frequent where guests would bring their best. I wish I had more stomachs. I left with a belly stuffed with satisfaction and a desire to call my mother... The staff was courteous and prompt. Kkoki hit the spot! It was my sons 16th birthday and we brought a party of 7. We made reservations earlier in the day and was seated immediately when we arrived. We ordered mandu, seafood pancake, kimchi pancake, KalbiTang soup, LA Kalbi, Spicy Pork, Chicken and Beef Bulgogi. The food came out super fast to eat, the service was very attentive and the atmosphere was laid back and we all had a good time. Wow amazing food and service. I like that they open late and still welcome customers anytime. I'm so impress at the quality of meats here and it makes the experience so fun and inviting. We order quite allot of food and everything tasted so amazing. Their meats tasted so fresh and it's so amazing. The restaurant is very spacious and there is plenty of room on the table to have everyone grill. It's definitely great to come in a large group so the bill can be split up. Absolutely awesome! First time to a place like this and we had a great time. Kinda came last minute, but so glad we did! Super awesome customer service and the quality of the meat was really good. They have s sign that reads "we only serve angus beef" so that was good to know. I would say maybe on the pricy side. It was me and my Husband and our 4yrld son and we spent about $80... That would be my only complaint I guess. Super relaxing to sit and watch and smell your food cooking on your personal cook top grill at your table. We had the short ribs and some pork. Both were really tasty and fresh. You have to pick a minimum of 2 meats and that comes with 2 rice bowls and 6 very very small "sides" which includes kimchi, bean sprouts, and a couple other things I'm not sure what they were but they were good. All fresh which is what's important. Clean restaurant, and bathroom as well. Good pricing on sake, try the "joy" sake. Very good.! Other than that, the Korean BBQ is pricy compared to other Korean restaurants and the sauce didn't make up for the bland taste in the meat. Service was okay, but you can't expect too much service at a Korean restaurant. Okay, I am never really one to send stuff back, but I had to. I am also not one to make reviews like this, but I also had to. I was frustrated. TLDR: Food was good/fair and the customer service was... meh. Me, my fiancé, and a couple of friends decided to try a Korean place we've all never been to. We already have a couple of Korean places that we love, but we wanted to see what this restaurant had to offer. We had dinner around 8PM. They are one of those places that don't seat you until everyone else in the party gets there. That was kind of annoying, but I kind of understood where they were coming from so I let that go. We each ordered our food and a drink. Everything went smoothy in the beginning, except for the fact they kept asking us if we were ready to order every 3 minutes or so. Then, when the food came out, two of the orders were completely wrong. So we sent them back because they each contained an ingredient that two of the people from the group didn't eat. We got our food back in a timely manner and it was fairly good. We thought, okay, maybe they just made a couple of mistakes. After that, other things went wrong like: they never refilled our water, they never checked in on us, they never asked us if we wanted another drink, and they never asked us for a box at the end. Honestly, they weren't even busy. When we got our checks, it was all wrong. They double-charged us and they tried fixing it. Then, they gave us the revised checks and they once again, double-charged us. I was so frustrated that I didn't even want to deal with asking for a box or even telling them they charged me an extra $15. We just wanted to get the hell out of there. I still tipped well (and so did everyone else) because like I said, I've worked in the service industry for years and I can't stand it when people don't tip at all for things like this. I understand if you're new or having a bad day, but goddamnit, this was a lot of mistakes for one four table top. Maybe, we'll all try this place again in the future. I love Korean food and have been to many Korean restaurants. This place has been our go to when we're feeling like Korean bbq. You have your traditional seating where you cook your own food over a grill, or you can just order from the menu without having to cook your own food. This last time was a little disappointing. I'm not sure if the cook is different or we just went on an off day. But there wasn't much variety with our banchan (Korean side dishes) and my beef soon du bu (Tofu soup) had 2 pieces of beef in it. We had a party of 3 and all of us left feeling very disappointed and were still hungry. Makes me wonder if the reviews were honest. 1. The plates came out in such small portions for the price that they charged. I can easily get more from another restaurant in Beaverton or at AYCE Korean BBQ in Portland for the same price. 2. Service was bad. When we finished signing the bill, the waiter came to get the empty dishes out and literally looked at the bill to see how much tips we gave and then left without taking the bill. 3. Food was plain. The sauce was plain and so little. Other BBQ places they give you an actual full plate of sauce, not like one little puddle in the middle of the sauce plate. We ordered the 85$ BBQ (3-5 ppl), which is a good portion for 4 people actually. It won't be enough for 5 people to be full for sure. There are many variations and recipes to perfecting the secret sauce and every chef has their own unique styles. I've been here several times already so I think it's about time they get a review. TL:DR version Pro: High quality/Great tasting food, nice clean interior Con: Pricey, wait times can get long during peak hours, their ventilation system sometimes can't handle the char from all the grills and can get very smoky inside (wear clothes you can wash!) Tip: Ask for stuff like lettuce and extra banchan if you need it. Don't sit there expecting them to bring something and then hold a grudge just because other tables have stuff and you don't (the entitlement, people!) Tip2: Language barriers in ethnic restaurants will prevent staff from being the nosy-chat-for-hours type of server. Do not mistake this for being rude. We have been to Kkogi about 5 times since grand opening. A decent Korean restaurant is a rare find here in Oregon so we were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant newly remodeled with a fresh new menu. With each visit, however, it's been a disappointing experience as the portion size of the meat are getting noticeably smaller and so are the banchans. When you charge $20-30s for 1 order of bbq meat, there needs to be more value than just a few nibble. To put several dime size random pieces of anchansal meat together to make it appear like 1 regular piece is strangely deceiving!
