PROJECT DONE IN MANSON, WA Erv and the crew were great to work with! Take a look at my before and after! He let me be as involved as I wanted to be in the remodel. I'm pretty OCD about things so needless to say - I was VERY involved. When it came to selecting the details: sink, handles, appliances, bar stools, lighting, cabinet inserts, under counter LED strip lighting, (even in the liquor cabinet - gorgeous!) we would pow-wow for the right specs then I would jump online and order exactly what I loved. They delivered even more than promised. Erv is a stickler for the details! I was living there during the remodel which can be dicey. They respected my privacy and accommodated my security needs for my dogs every day while I was at work. They're like my kids, so them getting out was a huge fear. Needless to say, my dogs totally loved the crew. AND the two little doggie beds they built in for them. . And even plug ins for their heating pads. Yes. They're spoiled. I had a change for them (cringe). I thought I wanted to get rid of the small window above the stove because when people approach the house they can see all the way through. Well, when the window was gone I realized that I really missed the light and view. Erv was so good about removing the already replaced and individually cut hardy plank shingles on the exterior. He returned the window without making me feel like it was a huge hassle and made it even bigger. I LOVE IT! Can't speak highly enough about the quality of work and the ease of working with the entire crew. They even worked holidays and weekends to get my project done more quickly so I could have my house back. Who does that?! I now have a kitchen that a million dollar mansion would be envious of. I chose Kraus Laminates to replace my kitchen countertops because they provide a "one-stop", full service package that includes all plumbing work and will do cabinet fixes as well. I am thrilled with the results. Ervin (the owner) and Jim went above and beyond at each step of the process. Ervin had come over earlier to do a site inspection during which I was able to explain all of the little odd things I wanted fixed on my 40 year old cabinets. When they arrived, they took care to protect my (easily scratched) cork floor and treated my kitchen like their own all through the job. Not only did they replace the countertops, they also did all plumbing as promised, added countertop material to the under sink area, fixed my drawer slides that had not been installed correctly, added a tilt out drawer under the sink, added 4 cabinet pulls, leveled a section of cabinet that had been oddly installed as an afterthought and had never been even with the other cabinets. Improperly installed countertops and cabinets lead to breakage after normal use. 5 months and 3+ trips before a repair was 'done', though it was patched up so poorly I would not call it completed. The owner is rude when communicating, but normally is MIA despite numerous attempts to reach her. Brought in a third party firm to examine the installation who, upon coming to our residence, found them to be installed incorrectly which lead to breakage. In my 30+ years I have never seen such a lack of care for both the work and the customer. I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

We had Krause Laminates install new laminate countertops in our kitchen this past Summer. I wish we never would have proceeded with the installation when we first got confusing and changing information regarding availability of what we wanted. Once that was cleared up, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since they have been in business for so long, and seemed to have a lot of experience. The day of installation the contractors showed up on time. They then proceeded to use an electric saw in our kitchen. There was no warning about this, and nothing was done to protect other areas of the house. Thus, sawdust went everywhere. We have had workers come to our house before, and they have always done the sawing outside. It took weeks to remove the sawdust from our kitchen and attached living room. That was only the first issue. The backsplash was not cut out where our oven is, and instead installed in one piece. This caused our oven to stick out awkwardly. Also, our sink handle couldn't be turned on all the way since it hit the backsplash. These issues were fixed after I said something, but I am surprised they happened in the first place. The final and worst event was when they were reinstalling our sink. A pipe was broken which caused a flood of hot water to gush through our kitchen and into the living room. I feel Krause handled this situation poorly. One, the water should have been turned off before reinstalling the sink. This would have avoided the catastrophe that occurred. Two, they said they would call their insurance company, and advised us to wait to do anything until the next day. A couple inches of water had been sitting on our wood floor for about 20 minutes before it was dried. We decided to ignore their recommendation, and contacted our insurance company. They immediately sent a water restoration professional to deal with the issue. There was so much water that they needed to remove wet insulation from our crawlspace. It took 5 days of multiple fans to dry out our kitchen. We then needed to vacate our house for almost 3 weeks so that our water damaged wood floors could be refinished. Our insurance company covered the repairs (over $15,000) and the claim is still open 7 months later while they wait to be reimbursed. It took over a month for their insurance company to even be in touch with me. I will give Krause credit for paying a plumber that day to fix the pipe. Also, we are happy with our countertops. That is why there are two stars. But, so many issues happened with the installation that I could not recommend this company. read more

I first found Krause Laminates over a year ago when I was coordinating work on a bank foreclosure house that had pink tub surrounds and countertops. Cindy, an interior decorator who is the estimator for Krause, has an excellent eye for choosing would fit your taste and enhance your property. It is worth going to their showroom in addition to having them come out for estimates. They had a fossil sandstone pattern that was amazing for the tub surround coordinating with a marble countertop laminate that would have been one third the price of anything else and have looked better than tile and been easier upkeep. Unfortunately, after many months of extending the closing date, the bank pulled the house from us, so the project couldn't be completed. I have another property for which they are going to complete the countertop and tub surround this week. I'll update after the completion of this project. They have been unfailingly polite, helpful, and patient throughout this whole process. read more
