My wife recently went to this farm to get grapes from their u-pick, as we have been…read moredoing for years now and someone from the farm rode up to her on a lawnmower and accused her of trying to steal grapes as she was cutting them off the vine. Nowhere is it posted that one is to check in anywhere and we have been there multiple times when no one shows up until we find someone so we can pay. Every year we have done the same thing, cut them off the vine, then go and weigh them and pay for them. While paying, my wife expressed the accusation was uncalled for and the person did not even apologize for her rudeness. The grapes are good, but we will take our business elsewhere next time.

We got a basket and scissors and they told us where to get the best grapes. The grapes were very nice and tasty. My hubby ate a bunch on our way home right away. They have many varieties of grapes but we just picked from the first three kinds. As we went to pay, the owner gave us apples as well for free. The walleye had a crispy crust coating the moist and tender fish. I took a bite of hub's sandwich and it was so good. My flatbread, though, was amazing. I'm all about a good crust and this one was perfection. So crispy, yet light with all air pockets in the crust. Of course, I love anything fig and this didn't disappoint. I ate 3 squares and took the rest with me. Of course being at the vineyard, we ordered a glass of wine. My husband had the albariño and I ordered the sauvignon blanc. I didn't care for the sauvignon blanc. When the manager came by, we raved about the food but I was honest about the wine. She gave me a taste of the chardonnay and she was right. It was good. I was happy she switched my wine. The negatives are the wasps are nuisances, and there were no traps to catch them. I was dodging them the entire meal. I guess it's hazard when dining al fresco. The other annoyance was the water glasses are small, and my water was never refilled and my glass sat empty even with Molly and the manager stopping by during the meal. Since the glass is small, they should leave a bottle of water at the table or make it a point to check and recheck the water glasses. This is a nice stop for lunch on the Michigan wine trail.
