She relocated her shop here a little over 2 months ago and has a spot that takes up the corner. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by Kelly. She offers a variety of fruit and cream pies, tarts, cake loafs, and rolls--as well as savory pies too. Right away, I noticed how big and heavy the pies were and for $25 bucks each, that's a great deal for something homemade! We went with a whole lemon cream pie and two mini chocolate cream pies. The mini pies are $5 bucks each and pretty big too. On my way out, I decided to pre-order a Dutch Apple pie to pick up next week for Thanksgiving. The lemon cream pie was fantastic. Great lemon taste and it didn't have that sour tangy tart after taste either. What I particularly like about this lemon pie is that the topping was a whipped cream vs meringue--not everyone is a meringue fan, so the cream topping you really can't go wrong with. This pie was hefty and I loved how there was so much filling vs cream ratio. Pie crust was cooked through and had a nice crumble and flake to it. The chocolate cream pie is good if you like that lighter chocolate taste vs the dark rich chocolate taste. It had more of a silky chocolate flavor and was smooth. Husband and wife owned, specialty in custom cakes (which I have not tried) and pastries (which I have). Their pastries are amazing, fresh, and perhaps the best I've had in all of Kootenai County. Sitting area is small, with a total of three two-seater tables and a sofa. Certainly not a place for a gathering. But if you want a quiet, comfortable hidden getaway to enjoy some quiet time without a loud blender, grinder, or coffee shop noises every 45 seconds, this is the place! Limited breakfast menu, but the croissant sandwiches and crepe options are wonderful. Croissant is warm, buttery, flakey, fresh and filled with goodness. Owners are super friendly and knowledgeable and offer great service. Excellent espresso (no drip coffee, so order an Americano or latte). You must try this place! P.S. there is one negative 1-star review on this site. Anytime I see someone post a 1-star review on any place, I check out their profile and almost always every one of their reviews are 1-star. Don't be deceived by either a chronic discontent or fake review. You will enjoy this place!

The crust was also so hard it was difficult to cut - I had to get out my heavy duty carving knife. No crunch and more doughy-like, but didn't seem to be undercooked either. Sunshine Bear: A lemon frosted sweet dough cookie that was very sweet with subtle lemon, not tart lemon. No crunch and was doughy, slightly undercooked. Fudgey Bear: A gluten free flourless chocolate cookie with chocolate chips that made for a rich chocolatey cookie. It had way more crunch than the other two cookies I tried. Pretty decent for an alternative cookie. Some people like soft baked cookies, some people like cookies with more of a crunch--I don't discriminate and like all cookies and my preferred texture just depends on my mood. Based on the other reviews, I would say try this place if you like a softer cookie. As I was leaving I did notice store hours out front were blank. Maybe hours are changing for the summer?

First of all, this is one of the largest donut shops I've ever seen that had two separate rooms for sitting, now I don't know if they just got a restaurant that had gone out of business and turned into a donut shop or if they have that kind of volume coming in through the day. Either way it's plenty of room to sit and hang out and chat and have a couple good donuts. The counter people were nice and friendly, and explain to me the name of the shop, thankfully it was not truth and advertising. These donuts are hard and gross. These are like amazing donuts and I would have eaten a dozen of them if I did not have the self-risk paint that I possess. I had a chocolate moose filled chocolate boys donut with a chocolate milk. I just had their kombucha from tap for the first time, and it's excellent. My kids love it here too because there's plenty of space to roam and comfy places to sit everywhere. It's well lit and comfortable, even in the winter due to the big fireplace in the middle. Bathrooms have always been real neat and clean. Everyone here has been so helpful and friendly each time. The doughnuts were creative and certainly different, but for the price, we didn't feel like the overall value was there.
