Ah yes, Kneaders. There aren't many places in Utah county that just make you feel like you're at home other than Kneaders. The menu is simple, but the food is good. You can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches, really, but I find myself always coming back to the turkey ranch on a croissant roll. And the turkey cranberry salad is SO GOOD. Today I tried their chicken noodle soup. It was ok. They have better options though. Overall I would rate this place a solid B+. I really wish Yelp would allow you to do half stars. Occasionally on some nice mornings, I decide to get my silly little booty our of bed and get some unlimited French Toast with the best tasting syrup in the world. I have never been so impressed with syrup. It is like the leprechaun's treasure hidden next to the pot of gold. There is nothing better than knowing your diabetes rates are going up because you are over eating for breakfast, but it is worth it because then I don't need to have lunch cuz my stomach be so full. Sorry Kneaders, I wanted you to be better but this is the most generous I could be. The biggest problem Kneaders has is the disconnect between the story they are trying to tell and what you actually experience when in the bakery. They are trying to tell a quaint story of European artisan bread and processes, basic ingredients and, as it says on their website, their "italian hearthstone oven." That's not what I experienced. Their bread and pastries looks good enough on the solid wood shelving, the staff is nice, the signs look decent. But then there's the disconnect. They hide the artisan process that is supposedly taking place. Virtually all of the food preparation takes place behind a solid wall behind the cashiers. If the quality of your process is the basis of your whole story, why on earth would you hide it? Italian Hearthstone Oven? I asked about this, but the cashier I asked only seemed to think there were regular commercial ovens which she pointed to. They looked much like you'd find in a Subway. The ceiling lighting and paneling is the same kind you find in elementary schools and drab buildings--the speckled paneling interspersed with the tube lights hidden by rectangular plastic covering. The outside of the building conveys the sense that they built it as cheaply as possible. This all would be fine if they weren't trying to tell a story about artisanry and quality. I ordered the chicken artichoke panini. It was good, but unremarkable. Everything about it was decent, edible, satisfying, but had nothing which I would want to tell anybody about, and nothing that would bring me back. It laid on a bed of kettle-style chips dusted with Kraft-like parmesan cheese. I'm sorry to go on about this, but according to their artisan, authentic story, you would expect the chips to be prepared on sight, especially because they present them to convey the sense that they are. Not the case. The cashier said they simply come packaged and then they put their own parmesan on them. Perhaps I come off as a snob in this review, and perhaps I am. But what I want from a business--and all great businesses deliver on this--is that they align all of their elements to the story they are trying to tell. This Kneaders has THE WORST service. I got in line after 2 cars. There were 2 cars ahead of me, and I was going to order a hot chocolate. I thought it would be quick, because like I stated, there were 2 cars ahead of me. I got to the place to order, and a car pulled up behind me. I was then informed the machine was broken. I didn't want to order anything else, so I needed up being stuck in the line. I thought it couldn't take too long, because I was in a drive through (which is supposed to be fast) and I had only 2 cars ahead of me. I was wrong. I waited in the drive through line for a total of 23 minutes. 23!!!!!! That is unacceptable for a drive through. I called the store at 15 minutes in line to ask if they could have the two people ahead of me wait in the parking lot for their orders and they could bring it out to them so I could get out of the line, and their response was, "no, we can't do that, because it's just not something we do." McDonald's has better service than these people. Chic-fil-A has better service. I will NEVER come back here again. If you come here, be warned that your wait time will be as if you went to a sit down restaurant, so if you're in a hurry, then do not go here. I ended up missing the appointment I had to get to, because the service here is just the worst. They could have done something to get me out of the line, they just wouldn't. Even if I didn't have somewhere to be, to wait that long for anything in the drive through is absolutely asinine. Just take my word for it and go somewhere else, it is not worth it. read more

But if you ask Kneaders, they'll tell you to put away you netbook and come with an empty stomach so you can focus on some delicious breakfast food, bread, and pastries. To put it bluntly, Kneaders is the gold standard for the genre. Now I've only been here for breakfast , which is why I can't quite hand out the fiver, but there's no doubt it was quality. Let us begin with the savory sweet delight that is the all you can eat french toast. From the moment I laid eyes on it I knew we were a match made in heaven. Light and fluffy but outrageously thick, the french toast went perfectly with the sides of whipped cream, strawberries, and buttery syrup. I should have gone back for more and had my wife stuff the extras in her purse. The sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich was no slouch either. The croissant roll was good enough to eat plain, and complimented the other ingredients extremely well. Definitely something I could order again. Wow! Visiting Provo for the first time, my brother in law took me here for a late breakfast, just before the french toast ended. I'm not a huge french toast fan, but if all french toast was like this, I'd change my mind. The bread was thick and fluffy and the syrup was sweet! The french toast is all you can eat. I think you would be lucky to finish off more than two plates. If you do go for plate 2 or 3, make sure to conserve your homemade whipped cream and strawberries. You only get the french toast and syrup on your refills. Can't beat the price either. For 3 people, the breakfast was about $15. read more

Kneader's is a staple at my workplace, so I will fully admit that perhaps I'm a little bit tired of the place. -the good- * Dessert - any dessert I've had has been everything I would expect from a bakery style food establishment. Great tarts, eclairs, brownies, and very good key-lime pie. * Breakfast - The french toast itself is good (nothing extraordinary). The syrup, berries and cream that they serve with it are fantastic. I frequently get their croissant sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. * Drive-Thru - I don't eat much "fast-food" but I love the concept of being able to muddle about the house on a Saturday morning in my underwear and hop in the car when I'm hungry for a quick bit to eat. -the bad- * The sandwiches - meat is dry and bland (especially the chicken). They have good-quality ingredients that are frequently combined in uninspired and unappealing ways. I frequently feel sick to my stomach after eating these sandwiches. Kneaders seems to be a household name in Utah, it is fairly good. The pricing is ok, if you get a special it could be worth it (I.e. All you can eat French toast on Saturday mornings) but it is not anything crazy special. The employees are ok, there is one really good girl who works the drive in the morning at their location in Provo by the hospital. I have never been impressed with the management who always seem to be rash. It's also always packed on the weekends so just be ready. read more

Mmmm mmmm. This is the best breakfast in town. It's somewhat pricey though but still reasonable. Their pastries and desserts look delicious. Their French Toast is their specialty and definitely worth it. My one issue is they crack down hard on sharing food. My wife and I go there, I will order a breakfast sandwich and she gets the french toast. They're the same cost. I finish my sandwich and she finishes hers but I'm still hungry. I go to get a free refill on her french toast for me and they always throw a fit. In fact, one time an employee came to our table and told me I wasn't allowed to share. I think that's over the top. I like this little sandwich shop, especially the pastries. I am not a fan of their in house potato chips, they are always stale, and the pickles are too salty (though I appreciate that they are dill, not sweet). I especially like their rueben on rye and tuna on hazelnut 12 grain though I could go for a lot less sauce in the tuna. Their other pastries are good, but in a basic, lots of cream and butter, sugar and love sort of way. No nuance, mostly comforting baked goods. And who can say no to their all you can eat french toast with cream and a strawberry? Literally, one strawberry. I have had a few occasions of bad service, mostly forgetfulness or little things that were fixed quickly. The worst being that they took almost 30 minutes after I had arrived at the store to make a sandwich I had preordered over the phone. I waited 20 minutes for a cookie and a steamer. I didn't end up getting it I decided to just have them refund me my money because I didn't want to sit and wait any longer then I already had, but the machine for the steamer was "broken". This location is also so freaking small and falling apart I'm surprised it hasn't collapsed yet! I love kneaders it's one of my favorite restaurants but the Provo-bulldog location I will never go to I refuse to after this. It's dingy disgusting I would rather drive further away next time, to one I know is actually of decent size so me and the other customers that happen to be in there aren't climbing all over each other. And maybe they can learn and once they clean the machine and turn it off for the night let all your co workers know! Brother in law took me here the first time and came back with family. Very solid menu of tasty sandwiches. Only bummer was I wanted pastrami on one of the visits and they were out. Kneaders makes me happy. I don't give out five stars very often, but this place really deserves it, even if they have mistaken mayo for ranch dressing a few times to put on my turkey ranch sandwich. Their sandwiches are fresh and so good. I always order either the turkey or roast beef ranch sandwich on focaccia - and they know how to make that sandwich right. The turkey isn't deli slice, but just like the turkey that you have left over from Thanksgiving that you love to put in a sandwich....so good. The ranch that they put on the sandwich is awesome as well. Oh! And on certain days of the week they serve cheese and broccoli soup,which is incredible. I love getting a sandwich with a cup of soup - perfect combination. Some of the items on the menu are really inventive, though I stick to what I love and can never fail me. Oh, and the desserts are killer. The macaroons are incredible and not too expensive. The eclairs are super moist and tasty as well. You know you love a place when your review essentially consists of what you enjoy to eat there and not an experience that deemed more memorable than the food. If it's after work, don't go through the drive-thru. It'll take you a bit longer than if you walked inside, and more than likely you have some idiot who's ordering for his whole family, but can't decide what he wants to get them and then has to get specialty orders for each kid. Yeah, that happens to me a lot. If you go inside to order, you can munch on some free bread while you wait and peruse which dessert you want to try...win win. Oh! One more thing. We repeated our order several times and after the girl at the window said it back correct we moved forward to the window. Our order was still incorrect and missing items. The first thing that you need to know about kneaders is their bottomless French toast breakfast. It's around 7 dollars if I remember correctly but it is quite delicious and it's served in a semi casual environment so they'll bring you your food and bus your table but it's not full service. The Provo location is extra busy though and often the service is minimal. For lunch or dinner they have great bread bowl soups and their sandwiches are pretty good as well. They do a great job filling the niche of cafe/bistro and are comparable to panera bread if your from out west. read more

The turkey cranberry croissant was very lackluster. For $6.59, you'd think they would include real cranberries instead of just using cranberry sauce. The turkey bacon avocado sandwich came in pieces. One half came basically disassembled. The avacado was only on one half of the sandwich. The interior has a very unsightly gift wrapping area that's unkempt and disorganized. Y'all I love the food at Kneaders, it's fantastic. I hate leaving negative reviews, but today was rough. I was in a bit of a rush today so I ordered curbside pickup instead of going in or using the drive thru. I set my time for pick up for half an hour after I ordered to make sure they'd have time to get it in the 5 minute time frame. I showed up on time and ended up having to wait for 30 minutes in the curbside pickup stall before they came out. I tried calling them before they came out to ask for a eta, and they didn't even answer their phone. The final straw was when I finally opened the bag to eat my breakfast after I'd driven away... and there weren't even any utensils in the bag, so I had to stop somewhere else to get some so I could eat. I know they're suuuuper busy in the mornings so they probably were trying their best, but I don't think I'll be using curbside pickup again. :( read more

I love Kneaders! I love how many options you have when going out with family. Everything is super fresh and Everything I've had has been good, if not great. I especially love the I think it's called the Artichoke Portabella soup. The soup plus 2 slices of bread is just $5 and it always fills me up. We also love their goodies. Particularly the mint brownies and the raspberry bread pudding thing. Unlimited French toast is yummy and the Greek omelet is really nice in the morning as well. read more
