    Raw and Bienville Oysters

Had an amazing experience with my girlfriends. Came in for Oyster Night-- ordered 2.5 dozen $1 raw oysters and enjoyed a half dozen of $2 Bienville oysters. Best place to get oysters in the Cincinnati area and at an unbeatable price. We ordered many different New Orleans style cocktails and enjoyed the incredible, classy and homey ambiance. The true star of the show was our waitress Karissa. Very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to our needs. She provided creative solutions to our requests, and encouraged us to try new things. The entire staff was hasty while also maintaining a friendly atmosphere. We had an amazing time and we will be back, if not on the regular!

I didn't know what to expect with this spot but it did not disappoint. Place has an old school way of taking reservations (call and write you down on a piece of paper), but it works! They were slammed from 5-9 and they still had great service. The crawfish were up there on my list of favorites (which I was also surprised by), but would absolutely return. Decent prices, classic beers on tap, and all the Cajun food you can eat! A fun date night or summer night out to switch things up.

Let me start with - I have wanted to visit Knotty Pine on the Bayou for a long time. It has been on my list for over two years. So I went in with high expectations - me being someone who loves Cajun food. The pros: The help was very good. Our waitress was kind and she knew the menu well. The ambiance was good - we got there right when they opened for dinner at 5pm, so there was no wait, and we got our food quickly. The okays: The food. I LOVE etouffee - but I was disappointed. It was kind of one-note and just okay. The fried alligator bites were also okay, as were the jumbo shrimp (they come with the heads on). My friend had the special scallops over pasta, and he said they were the best scallops he had in his life - so maybe I just misordered. No real negatives. I just was really excited to be blown away by Cajun food, and it was just okay.

The crab cakes were perfect and the potatoes and okra were perfect adds!

Karissa took total care of us. But the whole team was so great. We felt like regulars here which was awesome. The food was delicious as well. The portions are yooge so come hungry! We love it all. The crab cakes were nicely prepared and full of flavor. The potatoes and okra were really great sides too. The shrimp and pasta were flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I plan on trying the gumbo next trip. My wife had it and it was fabulous. We enjoyed our time here and so will you. Plan on stopping in. They'll take great care of you and you won't leave hungry!

The delicious opera cream cake to finish the perfect meal.

We went for our anniversary. The frog leg appetizers cannot be beat and we shared a sampler. Our server even gave us a complimentary dessert for our celebration. I suggest a reservation. It got busy fast.

We had absolutely amazing service for my son's birthday. He wanted a nice dinner and they put a candle in his steak which was awesome. The food was absolutely delicious there and next day as leftovers. I did not expect a place straight out of Louisiana right here in Kentucky!

    More oysters

I read on TicTok that this place offered $1 raw oysters. $1.50 chargrilled or fried oysters. Omgggggggg. I ran to this restaurant. They are only sold at this price on Thursday. I ordered 1 dozen raw, 6 chargrilled, and 6 fried. The bartender recommended a yummy drink for me. I was in heaven. Now I will say that me and my daughter were the only black people in the restaurant. She pointed it out to me. I quickly told her that I don't care. We were treated GREAT. Nobody gave us odd looks. I saw this only to express to people to simply give this awesome place a chance. I always judge places on how I'm treated. This place was great. The people were great. The service was great. I ordered 1 dozen of raw oysters..... yet my server thought that I said a half dozen. I only discovered that I had only a half dozen once I had enjoyed 6. He quickly brought me 6 more. They were soooooo good. $1 oysters . I'll be back for 2 or 3 dozen next Thursday for sure. This place is awesome. Try to get there early as this place was PACKED. I was lucky to get the last available packing spot . Yeassssssss I was happy. I'll be back.

Knotty pine is such a fun way to get food we normally can't find in our area. Between the alligator, crayfish and gumbo you really can't go wrong. The staff is always super nice, they take great care of their guest! And when you walk in you are transported to Louisiana. The art on the walls and all the decor is just great. Perfect date night spot if you're looking to try some different things and good for the family too!

    Oyster bienville

This was very good! We had the oyster bienville and it was ok and pretty small for the price. Everything else was fantastic. Creole sauce had a bite with the scallops. Gumbo was great. Fried sea bass was exceptional. I loved the grits and collard greens. We shared the opera cake and it was fine. It was a moist piece of cake with an intersting texture of very sweet frosting.

    Blackened Scallops Pasta

The food and drinks were amazing. Not pictured but the crab cakes were probably the best I've ever had. The service wasn't great but it was also the holidays and they were probably short staffed so I'll give them a break.

The Shrimp PoBoy bruschetta was very flavorful. My lobster dip was nice and creamy and work well on the sliced crostini bread. We all had the Blackened salmon with rice & beans. The salmon was perfectly cooked and very flavorful with just enough blackened seasoning to enhance the flavor. Food presentation was perfect, everything was plated nicely They have a great selection of bourbon. We chose ours after just three selections but they had many more. The owner came by our table and introduced herself, something you rarely see nowadays The cost was reasonable, and we have added this to our list of top restaurant selections in Newport, Kentucky. Thank our server, Sam for the great service and menu advice. Five stars.

We had a reservation for 6pm and walked in and got right to our table, with drinks shortly following. I ordered their espresso martini, which was very solid. For an appetizer I ordered their soup of the day (clam chowder) and entree was the orange roughy in a lemon cream sauce, with wild rice and broccoli on the side (and my wife got the prime rib - WOW!). Both were EXCELLENT - wish the portion sizes were bigger honestly on mine! For dessert we all split the lemon mascarpone cake and cheesecakes, which were devoured. Then, because it was one of those rare warmer nights in February, we went outside and sat in front of the fireplace and drank a bottle of wine and hung out for an hour or two. Our server and the manager were absolutely awesome and hit all the high points. Definitely a great experience all around. Only SLIGHT downside was the parking lot around back, which was totally full, but can't really fault Green Line for that. We found street parking not far away. Last night I ordered the crab rangoon roll (again, because I really enjoyed it the last time), a California roll, and a sweet potato roll. My fella had a hankering for sushi and found Sake Bomb on google, an easy 7ish minute walk straight up the road from the aquarium. The building was under construction and there was an overabundance of signs not only telling you where to go and where not to go, but also about ordering and pick up and other various things. I found that actually quite charming, along with the unnecessary quotation marks. But we entered and were seated right away (it was a late Monday morning, it wasn't gonna be overflowing anyway). I really liked the look and feel of the place and it made it feel very private in our seating spot. I really wanted to enjoy a small adult beverage (it was actually the start of a 2-week vacation for me and I wanted to feel a little indulgent). But the soju options I was eying all came in far too large serving sizes. BUT THEN the server informed me of the smaller sized options, it was just lost in the very busy and overwhelming menu. Perfect! And kudos to him for not pushing a more expensive, greater volume item! My guy ordered a couple rolls for us to share and I also got an order of the seaweed salad (a staple that I LOVE). The food came out quick. The salad portion was HUGE. And the rolls tasted delicious and we both left with our hunger sated. I would definitely recommend the short jaunt away from the Levee for a quieter, tasty meal, if you are in the area and looking for an Asian meal to enjoy.
