Excellent sushi!! The very best I've had in Charlotte. I tried the Spicy Tina roll, the steamed shrimp shumai and a spicy tuna roll and loved all of it. I travel to Charlotte several times a year for business and this will be in my regular rotation going forward.

Glad to see KO sushi survived Covid! This is a great spot for quick to go sushi Uptown. It's near Jimmy John's and is across the street from the Kimpton. They don't really have indoor seating besides a couple chairs by the window as they primarily serve to go orders. You can order online and pick up or have it delivered through Grub Hub. I initially ordered the Alaskan Roll and V3 roll with brown rice and paid online but then a minute later I was sent a notification that brown rice was unavailable and was promptly refunded. I actually appreciated that as I feel like most places wouldn't have done that. The two rolls I got were solid - the Alaskan roll comes with smoked salmon so it a little saltier than raw salmon but was still good. V3 is your standard V3 too. This place isn't the absolute best sushi in Charlotte by any means but it gets the job done if you have a craving and need sushi fast!

Is this the best sushi I've ever had in my life? No, but it's probably the cheapest sushi you can get in uptown Charlotte that still tastes good. Most of their maki rolls are ~$5 with their specialty rolls coming in around ~$10. I've gotten some of their hot items now and again but keep on coming back to the sushi here as my favorite item. My favorite items on the menu include the classic spicy tuna/ salmon maki roles, the Tiger roll, and the side salad (which is larger than the side salad you'd get at a normal sushi restaurant). I'd recommend ordering online and picking up since there isn't seating in the restaurant to dine-in. I've gotten takeout from here a number of times and haven't been disappointed yet!

I really like KO Sushi. The food here is really good and it's almost a hidden little gem off the street. They have a variety of options to choose from...sushi, nigiri, etc. and it always tastes fresh. It's really more of a pickup/takeout spot. Only 1-2 window seats available and pretty small inside. But very convenient location. There is a parking garage next to the building or find street parking and walk over, if you drive in for it. If already Uptown, just walk or scooter over. Place your order online through Yelp/Grubhub and it's ready fairly quickly. Doesn't take too long to do a walk-in order either. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!

Best bang for your buck can be found here! My boyfriend and I both ordered ahead on grub hub and got the Charlotte combo which comes w 4 piece Nigiri and 8 piece regular roll. I got the spicy tuna which was delicious and the meat was really good quality which is nice because I was skeptical it would be minced and mixed. He got the spicy salmon roll which was in fact minced but still good. The Nigiri was the best part because of its freshness and good quality thick cuts of meat. My only complaints are the lack of rice with the nigiri and the minced salmon but other than that we will definitely go back! Eating for two for under $25 is not bad and it's filling and delicious.

Favorite place to get sushi when in charlotte. Super quick service and really fresh ingredients. I got their salmon maki rolls and the shrimp steamed Gyoza and they were just delicious. I was in and out of the store in less than 10 mins and was picking up food (ordered on the spot). Highly recommending this place both for lunch and

I'm giving them a 4 star due to the wait for my order took a little longer then expected, I placed my order through the ritual app, I had the tempura roll. The food is good when I get a chance or I'm in the mood for sushi this is my first pick in uptown because is good and reasonable.

    Hair in food

I order multiple times a week from this place. However tonight my sushi was covered in hair. It looked like someone combed their hair over my food. I'm so disgusted. Tried calling the restaurant and they won't answer the phone. Never ordering from here again.

This place has super cheap sushi and is an easy to go option uptown. The sushi quality is decent, it could be better but the prices reflect that. I'd continue going here to get a quick dinner.

This is a valuable hidden spot in uptown Charlotte. I've passed by this place so many time I've lost count but never had stopped by until now. They are a small sushi take out place with maybe for high chairs in case you want to dine in. They have a pretty decent menu and their prices are great. I decided to go with tempura shrimp and shrimp dumplings, the food got ready quite fast considering that when I arrived, there were more people waiting for their order. I loved my sushi! They were fresh and their size was perfect, 8 pieces of delicious sushi! The dumplings were really good and what I loved the most about them was the spicy sauce they were marinated in. I highly recommend this spot for some cheap, fast, delicious sushi :)

Atmosphere for this meetup made us stay later than we should have bc I think we stayed til around 4:30pm? Lunch service finished maybe around 2:30-2:45? Felt badly for the person at the reception but he said it was no problem. I hv bn to Yama in Waverly a couple of times n now Yama Loso. Both serve a modern twist to Asian dishes. I love traditional Japanese meals but I also enjoy twists in recipes once in a while. Spicy edamame for starters. Looked great but I can't eat spice at the moment so I can't rate it tho my friends did eat it all up. Ate the sushi rice bowl but w/o the spicy aioli sauce n asked for something else which was on the sweet side. Comforting meal, not overwhelming, just right. Edamame, cucumbers, yellow pickled daikon, tuna, salmon, avocado. A simple lunch was all I needed. Then, the hamachi neck part came grilled, not on the menu but if they hv it they'll serve it tender n juicy. Only reason I left a star out was bc of the parking. Other than that, I'd probably go there again if I'm on that side of Charlotte but for me Waverly is closest.

It was a little late for dinner but the restaurant was still open. I understand the side work for closing as I've been in the field before but if you have a table, it should be a focus on the guests not the other way around. There was a mix up on the bill and the annoyance on her face seemed as if she felt it was my fault. But she did fix the issue almost seeming begrudgingly. I'll also mention that I had to flag down other staff for refills, as well as the bill. And you know how it goes - one thing is off and it makes for a forgettable experience. But I will say that dinner was fine. See pics. Can't complain about prices or portions but when I was annoyed, I was just eating to eat. I don't know anyone out here whose tastes for Sushi/Sashimi aligns with mine so it's hard to say whether I'd go back or not. First, obviously I don't live there and second, more places I'd probably want to try before I go back for service like I experienced that night. But it's probably not likely

Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several areas. Given the location, you'd expect the service to be A1. Instead, I was highly disappointed. Our server was friendly enough and did share the popular items, which I appreciated, but the follow-through from the kitchen didn't match the expectations that were set. I went with the recommended Panther Roll, and it was not at all what I expected -- it came out half-baked and lacking in both flavor and presentation. The crab Rangoons were even more concerning; they were fried in what tasted like old oil, leaving a heavy greasy aftertaste. The batter itself didn't seem right, and overall they were difficult to enjoy. I've worked in the hospitality industry for seven years and recently started writing reviews to offer honest feedback that can help restaurants improve. I genuinely dislike writing negative reviews, but this visit left me no choice. Konnichiwa has the potential to be a hit with a more engaged, enthusiastic staff, consistently hot food, and some attention to kitchen maintenance -- especially the fryer and oil. I hope this feedback is helpful, and I truly believe with a few adjustments, the experience could be much better.

We came on a Saturday evening and arrived just in time to catch the sunset before starting our meal, which felt like the perfect start to the night. We ordered our first round of drinks, and the ladies at the table opted for the Osusume while the gentlemen ordered directly from the menu (there were four of us total). The drinks took a little while to arrive, but nothing that raised any red flags yet. Service started to feel off once the food began coming out. One of the guys received his appetizer, entrée, and side of rice almost immediately--basically all at once--while the other received his entrée well before his appetizer. As for the Osusume, it started strong with the first three dishes coming out fairly quickly. Unfortunately, that momentum stopped completely. We then waited 45 minutes to an hour before the next dish appeared. Our server did acknowledge the delays, which we appreciated, but that was about the extent of it. At one point he stopped checking in altogether, likely because he had no updates for us. What was frustrating was that we never even had the opportunity to order another round of drinks while we waited. After a couple of hours, one person in our group had to leave. Meanwhile, my friend and I were still waiting on at least three more courses from the Osusume (we were told it would be 6-9 courses). My friend's husband eventually went to the host stand to ask for a manager. When the manager arrived, we were given conflicting explanations as to why our food still hadn't come out. By this point it had been over three hours, and we still had three courses left to receive. Another friend left because the wait had become so unreasonable. Unfortunately, the manager didn't offer anything to help make up for the experience--no drinks while we waited, no gesture for the delay, nothing beyond explanations that didn't quite line up. Walking past the kitchen, things appeared chaotic and disorganized. It honestly seemed like our order may have gotten lost in the shuffle more than anything else. Tables that were seated well after us were able to order, eat, and leave. At one point a group of about ten celebrating a birthday came in after us, enjoyed their entire meal, cut a cake, and left while we were still waiting. Even small touches fell through the cracks. We never received the lemon or water enhancements that were being brought to other tables, and getting a simple water refill often took 30+ minutes. Going that long without any drink--water included--is tough for a restaurant of this caliber. Eventually, because it had gotten so late, we asked to have the remaining courses packaged to go. Unfortunately, that experience wasn't much better. The food was poorly packaged and didn't seem intended to be shared between two people, which made it difficult to properly enjoy what should have been the remaining courses of the Osusume experience. In the end, we were offered a series of explanations but not much in the way of service recovery. We were patient throughout the entire experience and didn't make a scene, but the lack of communication and basic hospitality made the evening feel like a missed opportunity. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place. Lack of service is one thing, but when concerns are raised to a manager and they seem to be brushed off, it makes the experience even more disappointing. I could maybe forgive slow service if it were a one-off situation, but the lack of ownership or effort to make things right makes it hard to suggest this spot to others. Come at your own risk and be ready for disappointment.

Edamame and Southpark Shrimp App, Katsu Udon Entree, Salmon, Sea Bass, Chicken yakitori from the Robata, Cowboy Roll, Scallop Hand Roll Sushi, and the Chestnut Cheesecake and Lychee Sorbet Dessert. My wife really enjoyed the Edamame, it had a nice flavor with the seasoning on top, but the Shrimp Tempura was very avg, with a thick tempura batter and not much flavor, even after dipping in the aoli that sat under the shrimp, Katsu Udon was soggy and not crispy as the server poured the broth all over the Katsu and the broth was not very flavorful. My wife's favorite thing was the Salmon which was cooked pretty well and had a corn puree on the bottom the other 2 robata items (sea bass and chicken) were both quite mediocre with little flavor. Cowboy Roll was a bit surprising as it had bbq sauce on it but wasn't too bad, The scallop hand roll was my favorite thing, it was torched on top and had a nice creamy dressing on it as well as some jalapenos. Both desserts were good, both not too sweet and suiting my families palette, overall it was about $270 after tip. Due to the restaurants location they probably get a lot of guests of the hotel and business meals to keep them in business but the food overall was not up to par for that price point. My family eats out quite often and compared to many other places we've been to with similar price points this place is not IT. We most likely will not be going back, but it was a nice experience to try.
