Overall good experience. My husband and I came here with our two dogs in mid June. We got a patio site with a hot tub. It would have been great if we had control of the temperature but it was set to 104. We could only use it at 6am because it was just too hot. The main road was paved but all the other roads were rock and dirt. There was no grass, only green weeds. They had signs all over stating that they are changing over to a drought tolerant landscape, which is disappointing because grass is important to my camping experience. The pool area was good with plenty of seating and tables. They had a splash pad too. Lots of kids. The dog park was good because it was completely covered by big trees and the ground cover was real tree bark, not store bought mulch. There was a great walking path around a pretty lake that's about half a mile. When you leave the camp grounds, I recommend going to Mo Jeauxs for BBQ and good drink specials and to take the brewery tour at Odells. read more

Easy pull through site with all hook ups working was appreciated. Also level! Had a nice breakfast burrito from the koa food truck this morning. I was really looking forward to this KOA stop on our travels, but it was a bit of a disappointment. Pros: Lots of family activities-bike rentals, paddle boat rentals, splash pad, mini golf, jump pad, etc. Large campground Convenient location Cons: Bathrooms have spiders in every corner, and the showers are in major need of some maintenance. Rental activities end at 3pm. So if you're only here for 1 night, you only get 2 hours to take advantage of the activities. They charged us $10 for an extra vehicle, even though we were able to park it in our campsite. The site we were at had a bright light on all night, which made it hard to sleep (we were in a pop up trailer). All of the activities are an extra charge. Our site was next to a permanent resident with a run down trailer and a wrecked car in his site. Overall, we would stay here again, but for more than 1 night so the kids could at least enjoy the activities. read more

Stayed for 2 nights and although the weather sucked we enjoyed this KOA. LOTS of activities for the family! Nice pool and water park, go carts to rent for $10/hour, mini golf, large playground, sports field, fishing and paddle boats. Definitely not a boring time. There were little frogs hopping around everywhere too, made for a fun time catching them. Bathrooms were clean and well kept and they even had a food truck on site with the best pizza and wings! Way overpriced for the services provided. A long ways outside of town. Very little shade means our AC can't keep up even in July which makes our dogs very unhappy. I can't imagine what August would look like! Still, the staff is phenomenal, the store is well stocked, the dog park was clean and well tended, and the kids enjoyed access to a pool. I would stay here again, but I hope they can get their prices more inline with their services. In 20 years maybe they'll have enough shade for July and August use. Until then, make sure you have a dual AC RV before coming out in the heat of the summer with your doggos. read more

Not much common sense with the people assigning spots. We made our reservation MONTHS in advance, 2 spots under the same name so we could be next to each other. Guess what... we're not. Not even close. Twelve spots away and the girl at the front desk said, "It's closer than it looks." It's not. We asked for something closer and guess what... even though there are 13 empty spots closer, they all supposedly have holds on them. Didn't even TRY to accommodate us. Make sure you say the words "we need to be right next to each other" if you have multiple parties with you. read more

What a pleasant little restaurant place! It has a lot of free activities. A lot of parks will charge you for everything. But not here. They have a bounce house, bumper boats, paddle boats, shuffle board, and mini golf, all free!!!! It's mostly run by older people. Which makes the feel of the place calm. It's also well maintained. Except for the pillow jump which was pretty dirty. Everything else was great. And the staff was extremely nice. We stayed here three years ago and wow what a downturn. Grass is now a dead weed patch. Dirty park with uneven sites. We had to change sites and still couldn't get level. Even the concrete sites are a shitshow. Pain in the ass park to get to boot. Now charging for everything that used to be an amenity. This goes into the category of never again. Very nice and clean campground with a variety of deluxe options: patios, hot tubs, food truck, cabins, paddle boats, pickle ball, mini dog park, bike rental, etc. Check to make sure options are available during shoulder seasons. Some things are closed, like the pool, after Labor Day. There are a lot of shade trees, pull throughs, and hook up options, even for tent campers. WiFi was not very good, but hopefully visitors will have better things to do than look at their electronic devices. read more

I can rent a hotel for cheeper , but we bring our own lodging and pay the excess price to enjoy they extra fun , and then to find out we have to pay for the extra fun as well ;( I saw a lot of sad kids who looked and watched others enjoy all the fun stuff but could not go , Internet does not work well ! We drove here from out of state because my kids saw the bumper boats and the paddle boats in neat flamingo, swan, duck, and dragon designs. We arrived Sunday evening on September 12th and learned Monday morning when we went to the office that the bumper boats were seasonal and had been taken out. We also learned the most disappointing news: that the paddle boats that were all right there at the dock were only available on the weekends starting Friday morning at 10:00 when the rec department opens. Those were the reasons we drove here from out of state and now we have disappointed kids. There was nothing on their website that said the paddle boats were not available Monday through Thursday. What a big disappointment. Now we need to find a plan B ASAP. We were planning to use the bumper boats and paddle boat a couple times a day every day this week. I do not recommend this KOA. read more

Spent 2 days here in site 114 pull thru which was right beside the pavilion and the chuck wagon. The people that run the food coach were awesome and the food is top notch. The entire staff at the campground are super friendly and accommodating. Tons of kids activities from mini golf to rental boats and rental bikes. Nice property! Impressive facility with LOTS of amenities. Only giving 4 starts due to the WIFI. However, to be fair they told us that ahead of time and are VERY upfront about it. Actually all of that area in Fort Collins has slow cell signal and intermittent WIFI so not a KOA only thing. But since they didn't try to sell me that it was good I don't hold it against them. My Mobile Hotspot worked like a champ and we had no issues. There is a walking trail around the lake with 6 workout stations. If you add the private drive to the street, the park and the lake trail you can get about 1.5 miles run/walk in without leaving the park. There is a Poudre Trail parking lot about 1/4 mile down the road for a 12.5 one way run...great for marathon training IT'S NICE! The site are spacious, you could park another RV in the green space. The grass is green and the trash has several pickup spots. The park is well tended and you can tell the hosts really take pride in their work. I saw another review that said they don't wear masks....I didn't see any evidence of this and saw them asking people to wear them. The hot tub cleaning was rigorous and changed my mind about staying at a place with a hot tub. You could eat out of that thing when they where done. Wow. read more

If you enjoy horses and cows, this is for you! Nice park, clean, but my gawd I've never seen so many flies vying to get poll position into a trailer. For us, it was too much. Unable to sit outdoors without getting buzzed. In the evening the wind would shift and it smelled of cow doo! (We had to keep our windows closed for that reason. Wonderful!! This KOA is all about the amenities! There is so much for kids to do. Wish we had planned to stay much longer. Lots of shade, not near a highway, peaceful. One review mentioned that there was a cost for amenities, but that is only the paddle boats and mini golf and they cost next to nothing. As soon as we arrived, the kids were off with a big pack of kids having a blast. The cabins are off the beaten path. There is a wonderful lakeside nature walk around the lake with exercise stations. Library, workout room, etc. Family bathrooms were lovely. The owners obviously love and care for this park. read more

Everything was ok until one day when the rig next to us decided to pay to have someone come detail their unit. We paid over $100 per night to have a patio, hot tub and outside area we intended to use, but lost use for an entire afternoon and evening because of the noise from pressure washers, buffers, etc., along with our entire outside area being sprayed with water. When asked if this was allowed, the staff member I spoke with was argumentative and kept cutting me off saying it was policy and he didn't write it. 1. An rv site is not the time or place for detailing a rig and 2. The KOA staff member could use a refresher on how to speak to guests. read more

3 and 1/2 Stars. This park has so much to offer. There is a bouncy castle, bounce pad, a bounce slide,miniature golf, shuffle board, paddle boats, bumper boats, pickle ball, basketball, a recreation center that has even more outdoor toys, a kids pool and another small pool, a water play area, a small train that you can ride, bikes and quads that you can rent and more! Whew! This place is virtually paradise for youngsters! The Fort Collins/ Lakeside KOA has rules, rules to keep their visitors safe and we truly appreciated that. The park was quiet at night, we did not hear any dogs barking. The actual sites could be improved upon, see photos. One can only imagine how absolutely fantastic this place was in its heyday! But again it continues to have an abundance of activities. There are happy children everywhere and some of the friendliest campers we've met. My grandsons and I used the walking trail and they were entertained by looking at the different animals that were painted onto the tree trunks.The staff here is excellent. I'd like to thank Justin who was graciously assisting folks boarding the bumper boats and paddle boats, Vera and Chuck who assisted folks in the recreation area and Angie and Jon who provided us with information and background on the park. For a corporation providing all of these amenities for vacationers, it's hard to compare. This is the best KOA we have stayed at but we have only stayed at 2. The things provided for families are incredible. There is so much to do here that I cannot imagine there would be a "boring day" for kids. I think the pull through sites are setup kinda weird. Distance between electric and water from the sewer is vast. It works perfectly, it's just a distance for sure. The worst thing about this campground is also one of their best. It's a damned if you do and a damned if you don't. There is a light at every electric box. This is AWESOME when showing up at night. However, it sucks SO much when your neighbors insist on leaving it on and your entire campsite is lit up all night. Pretty much ruins the ambiance. Campsites are close together but not the worst I have seen. The wife and I typically try to stay at more quaint campgrounds but I made last minute reservations for this time of year. read more

My wife felt very threatened by the senior owner. He shouted insults at her as he followed closely behind her as she retreated from the office. All she did was ask about the extra guest fees for the children's playground. We recommend unaccompanied women do not enter campground office if the senior owner is present. The food service cart is located above the campground's former sewage dump station. The Larimer County Health Department rated food safety at the KOA/Lakeside as "Marginal." The Better Business Bureau lowered its rating of KOA/Lakeside, and KOA/Lakeside is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. Lakeside KOA has disabled links to reviews by KOA customers. The south-side of the Lakeside KOA campground is near an active asphalt plant and gravel quarries, with industrial noise/odors and heavy truck traffic commencing at dawn. I woke one morning to the pounding roar of a low-flying helicopter spraying insecticides on the corn field just 25 feet from our north-side camp site. The east-side of the campground is near a marshy area with stagnant water, and mosquitoes can be thick. Interior roadways are not paved, with puddles during wet weather and dust during dry weather. Well water has a brown tint. We experienced occasional brownouts during hot weather and power failures during electrical storms. Verizon coverage is weak. We found several other nearby campgrounds that we felt are much better campground choices. There is a very nice State Park and several commercial RV parks in Loveland Colorado, which are near Route US-34 to Rocky Mountain National Park and only 5-miles from Fort Collins. If you find whitewater rafting or blue-ribbon trout streams appealing, then consider one of the many public campgrounds managed by the US Forest Service in nearby Poudre Canyon. read more

We rented a camping cabin with a bathroom. The cabin was nice and clean. The downer was the location of the cabin was right on the main intersection of the campground. All night and day people and golf carts are going through. There was also no shade (trees or awning) so it was too hot to sit outside. We left early because of all the traffic around the camp site it was not enjoyable or comfortable to sit outside. read more

Tent camping was a joy, sunrises and sunsets in fall in Colorado surrounded by trees turning and lakes plus the excellent host decorations for Halloween. For camping and giving your college kids some space I would recommend hitting up the site if your in the Fort Collins area.such a beautiful city to explore and area. read more
