The price was only 26.99 per person for all you can eat and you had the option to upgrade for an additional fee to include meats that aren't in the "basic" tier. Honestly there's more than enough delicious choices and sides in the basic tier so we kept it there. Koba opened literally the week before the COVID-19 lockdown and I'm so thrilled they've made it through. I went the first week they opened in 2020 and had a great experience. The meat was great, servers were wonderful, and ambiance fabulous. I've returned twice in 2021, opting to eat outside and still everything was great. Ordered take out online and that was super easy. While I would go back, not all the Korean flavor was quite there. Also, I didn't appreciate getting ONLY 2 banchans: kimchi and cucumber. Soft tofu stew lacked flavor but the portion was large and hot when I picked it up. Bulgogi was ok, not too sweet, the way some Korean restaurants seem to dump in sugar. Kimchi pancake is good. I've been here twice now. Once for lunch and a second time for the AYCE dinner; both were great. The service is phenomenal. At most restaurants, servers are usually assigned and don't really bother checking in on other tables if not theirs, but it's different here. All servers were very attentive. We had a main server and we also had every server working that night visit our table, at least twice. It's a nice and comfortable environment. It's also really nice to see the servers sharing and educating non-korean customers with korean customs and traditions. I really appreciated that. The meat quality is great. We really enjoyed the chadol (beef brisket) and the pork belly. Those are just my two favorites. They pair so nicely with the chadol sauce and salsa. The salsa is really something else. It breaks up the fatty-ness of the pork belly. Try it next time! (Recommended by the GM). The egg soufflé here is also bomb AF. I had 3 because I'm a fiend. When I found out an AYCE kbbq opened up in Baltimore, I knew I had to try it ASAP. The decor and ambience was nice and it's a a great place to go with a group for a weekend dinner. They're also apparently setting up a karaoke system on the lower level, so that's lots of potential for a great night. I had the basic menu of meats and I felt very satisfied with the quality and selection. All the sauces were great so I had a constant rotation. Service was good despites how busy it was and the amount of staff. I felt completely cared for. Since this place cooks the meat for you, our waiter made sure to communicate with us to make sure he cooked our meats to our liking. Overall, I'm very excited to not to have to drive all the way to Ellicott or Rockville for good KBBQ. I am looking forward to coming back again!! read more

We've been waiting for this place to open for months and they did not disappoint. Of course we wait until the Friday night of the Grand Opening to go so we suffered with the fantastic smells for about 20 minutes before we got our table. The wait staff was friendly and on it when ever we needed anything and the food was top quality. We went with the standard sets since we had the kids with us and had the beef ribeye Bulgogi, chicken Bulgogi, Cha Dol Bagi brisket, and chicken Gui. All perfectly prepared and seasoned, the sauces were fantastic. The customer service was top notch and we can't wait to go back. We'd give more stars if we could. read more

Background: I am Korean and raised with Korean food and been to every single Korean restaurant around this area. Overpriced for low quality. I went once for the premium set all u can eat and it wasn't worth it for 50 bucks per person. It was just steak and lamp chops and 3 strips of LA beef short ribs (galbi). Pretty sure the waiter lied to us cuz we just wanted to order the LA galbi that had a dinner price on the menu and we could've ordered during that time but he said we couldn't order just galbi had to order set. Food was mediocre. Definitely not worth the prices they had on menu. I went recently for their lunch menu and got the galbi dolsot (mixed veggies and egg and beef with rice and spicy sauce) that was also mediocre cuz I had better ones at Korean grocery stores' food courts for a lot less price or same price. I paid 20 bucks for that during their lunch special. If they gonna be overpriced at least make it taste good and a lot of protein. Just go to ellicott city for legit Korean bbq. Like Honey Pig. Or for all you can eat, Iron Age. But if you are in that area and crave something Korean but don't wanna drive I guess it's a quick stop. Came here on a Friday night with another couple since we were craving Korean BBQ. I read the reviews ahead of time and was anticipating the poor service. It took a while for us to get a table even though there were several tables open. We ordered the Premium AYCE BBQ set - if you finish everything in this set, you can order additional eats off of the classic set menu. Since there were items that we wanted from the classic set, we gorged ourselves and ordered more. All of the meats in the premium set were delicious - I especially liked the lamb, LA Galbi, and ribeye. It was served with tofu stew, steamed egg, and various side dishes. The tofu stew and steamed egg were good - nothing special and not horrible. The side dishes were definitely not good and we didn't ask for seconds. After we finished the premium set, we ordered pork belly and beef brisket from the classic set. Overall, the meats were all pretty yummy, but the service was definitely lacking. They would put the meats on the grill for us, and walk away so we would end up taking it off before the meat was overcooked, but if someone spotted us, they would come and grab the tongs away to do it themselves. I would come back if I wanted AYCE, but there are other Korean BBQ options in and near Baltimore that would have better service. read more

Since I live down the street I try support local business as much as I can, I even invited a friend. We were having a good time until they told us that there's a 90mins limit per table. I didn't understand this idea because no one was waiting, all the tables around us was open. There was no one waiting and we were ordering more food/sides etc that wasn't included on the buffet (spent about $200 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 3). We only had 2 rounds of meat from the buffet by the way and was done after that. We were drinking beer and soju so it's not like we were just taking g space. I would understand if there's a wait.... they chose to kick us out instead of letting us order more stuff. super upset about this place!! my boyfriend and i were frequent customers, we had been here at least 10 times over the past couple years and love it but our last experience was horrible. Normally we have a younger server who's super nice and remembers us every time. This time around we had an older lady serving us and she was so rude!! totally ruined our whole experience!! She kept turning our burner off to slow down the cook time so we can eat less, i told her to leave it at the temp i set it to and then she turned it off completely. Since we have been there multiple times i kept communicating we don't need help cooking but she was so pushy and completely ignored us. At one point she put raw pork on the burner when there was cooked beef on it, total cross contamination!! even though it is all you can eat she stopped serving us at 9:20 when they closed at 10. It was the worst service ever, she even started arguing with me when i asked why we can get more food when they closed at 10 and it was only 9:20. Now they add 18% on the bill for gratuity, It sucks when people stop giving good customer service because their tip is guaranteed. we always tipped 18%+ because the service was good but that's not the case anymore. Their plates of meat were so smaller spent most of the time waiting for them to come bring us more meat. This is the first kbbq I've ever been to that actually enforces the time limit. There were tons of empty tables and they didn't even warn us about a last call, we put in another order and they came back out and said sorry your time is up. This place is really disappointed, we went there for Father's Day dinner. First time after good reviews. Man we were in for surprise. First of all they don't explain nothing to what they offer or what it is. Since we heard about the place we order 4 almost $50 per person meal, hoping we get to understand what we are going to get, but nothing they just put some pan in our table and we waited about 15 minutes not knowing what is going on. After we asked they said the meat is being charcoal cook inside, but when we tasted the meat is plain and lame. When we ask any question about what kind of meat or sauce, I could since they were getting irritated. I know it's hard have employees at this time but we are spending and trying to support restaurants near us and what we experienced is no one should of experience anytime. My husband asked her to wipe the table because it was so sticky, she blew him off and said "no that how it is" and kept rushing us to order. We weren't hungry enough to order the sets for all 6 of us my 12 year old was not going to eat that much. She refused to let us order the set if the entire table didn't. So we ordered entrees the Korean fried rice with beef was tasty but they were so stingy I got like 6 pieces of beef. The bibimbap was ok but damn again barely any beef. Our waiter never came back to check on us we needed refills and had to chase him down to get drinks. Everyone was so rude! Food was just ok and service was awful save your $$ and go somewhere else. I'm really sad to leave this review given that prior to COVID, this would've been my possible go to for AYCE korean bbq in the area. I came on a Wednesday night with my roommate and I will say the atmosphere is completely different. The restaurant does not give exciting vibes anymore and there was only 1 waiter serving. But anyways as for the food, their menu has completely changed. They have a premium set (includes classic set after finishing the premium meats) and a classic set. Don't be fooled though. It says AYCE for both sets, but as for the premium set, only the classic portion after finishing the rounds of "premium" meat are AYCE. Overall, the premium meats were at par, but the LA Galbi was OVERLY sweet, like it's been sitting in marinade for days. It was inedible. I was VERY disappointed. The first meat took a while to come out, so I ended up eating the kimchi jjigae while waiting... so at the end of the premium set I was really full. Maybe I'll give this place some time to have a restart, but I will probably not be coming back any time soon. read more
