What a fabulous little find in Centralia. Kobe Sushi and Teriyaki is more than just sushi and teriyaki. Let's break it down: Staff: friendly, welcoming, attentive and respectful. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Very sweet waitress. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean, with plenty of seating. It wasn't crowded when I was there, which was fine with me! It's not a fancy place, but it's not a dive, either. Nice family place and comfortable for the solo diner as well. Food: The selection is vast! Lots of sushi choices. I'm not a sushi fan so it was nice to see there were plenty of other options. I started off with a cup of miso soup, and it was delicious! The broth was very flavorful and I even ate the little tofu bits floating around...and I hate tofu! They were little bite sized pieces and not big, obnoxious chunks that usually accompany miso. So, they were tolerable. But, the broth was the winner and it was sublime. I also ordered some crab puffs which did not disappoint! I could even taste the crab which was delightful, as there is usually just cream cheese in other ones I've eaten. They were superbly fried to a soft golden brown and perfectly crispy. Excellent! The pineapple fried rice with chicken was fantastic. Served in a hollowed out pineapple half, chock full of delicious fried rice; it was so cool! Beautiful to look at, and delicious to eat. Lots of tender chicken, pineapple and cashews throughout the rice. The portion was huge and I had plenty left over for a meal the next day. Location: Kobe is located in a dumpy looking strip mall next to The Goodwill. Don't let that stop you from trying them out. They deserve the 5 stars I've given them! The first review is definitely way too harsh, and rude. Don't let that review deter you from trying them. I'll definitely swing in again next time I'm up that way.

Service is always excellent. And the sushi is superb. I look forward to my next visit. The sunshine roll is a favorite and the pink lady roll was very good.

Food, service and ambiance good, but not sake or any alcohol which kinda takes away from the experience.

Sushi did not seem that fresh and lacked flavor. Over priced for what I received which was a roll and nigiri.

I pulled up and saw they…read moreare "under new management" to which I always feel that they are worth a new chance if there was ever a bad review written. I also noticed their sign that says "open in Sunday's" to which I giggled because I just mentioned to my husband that I bet they are closed on Sunday's, so kudos to them for knowing their customers. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and I need to mention that I LOVE when they add the side salad with the white salad dressing, throw that dressing on the rice with pepper and teriyaki sauce and it's FIRE. If they are smart they will be selling that by the bottle soon like seen some other places start doing once they caught on. The teriyaki sauce is the thick sweet kind which I love because the more runny kind is too savory and tangy for my liking. I only went inside for a second but the place looked really cool! The also have Boba Tea and Sushi which I'll have to try soon, but there's a lot of seating and parking around the building so there's plenty of space. I recommend someone take a photo of their updated menu so the prices are current. (I forgot). I paid about $30 for two chicken teriyakis. I'll be picking up more frequently from here since it's hard sometimes to find a good teriyaki spot!

We take sushi seriously and have tried great spots across the country, so we don't impress easily…read more We stopped at Asahi Sushi on our way to Olympic National Park just for a quick meal -- and it turned into one of the most memorable stops of the trip. The interior feels refined and stylish, with soft lighting and purple accents that give it a calm, upscale vibe. Service was genuinely kind, attentive, and well-timed. The miso soup was deep in flavor, the seaweed salad fresh and nicely plated. The Baked Salmon Roll and Olympian Roll really stood out -- fresh fish, balanced flavors, and beautiful presentation. If you're driving through Olympia, it's absolutely worth a stop.

Great sushi in a convenient location…read more To enter, you have to walk past the sushi bar where the chefs stare at you. Sitting there to eat would probably be awkward with every patron passing behind you. We got the Paradise and the Hurricane rolls. The Paradise was good, but the Hurricane won hands down. Sweet and savory, crunchy and creamy, with a touch of spiciness, this was the complete package. Highly recommend. The bathroom is outside of the restaurant through a winding corridor of backrooms. It's unsettling, and then the restroom itself is lit in a sickly yellow. One of the motion-sensing faucets had its motion-sensor ripped out, and the sink drain looked like it had been dissolved in acid. Kinda weird!

I consider myself a bit of a sushi connoisseur (my husband just calls me "bougie" lol), so I figured we'd give this place a try since it was convenient and a sushi place for me to try. When we walked in, it was completely empty and there was a sign up at the entrance mentioning they were hiring servers. The restaurant seemed spacious but maybe it felt that way because all the tables were unoccupied. It took a few seconds before someone came out, but the girl who helped us ended up being the only saving grace of the entire experience. She was super sweet, told us we could sit anywhere, brought menus right away, and was on top of everything: drinks, appetizer, sushi, clearing plates. She was honestly the only person we interacted with the whole time. I did end up going to the register to pay after our meal, since she got busy once more people came in, but she handled everything she could really well. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the service. It was simply mediocre. The shrimp tempura tasted undercooked (I could still taste the batter smh). My husband got the Red Dragon roll and I got the Big Mike. He asked for no cucumber and they were accommodating. Regarding portion sizes, they're generous, and I can see how that might appeal to the general palate. I like that the rolls were cut nicely too, where the rolls were a little thinner than your standard piece, so they were easy to eat. The torched salmon and eel were probably the best parts of what I ordered. But overall, the quality felt pretty average. The rice was lacking flavor and kind of just tasted like plain filler. Our total came out to about $57 before tip, and honestly, it didn't feel worth it. Most rolls averaged $19, but they tasted more like something you'd expect at a cheaper spot. I've had similar sushi before that I'd consider more of a budget option (not amazing, but decent for the price). This sushi was passable but tasted more like $15 for a roll.. Just subpar for my standards. I think what made it more disappointing is that when I go out for sushi, I am expecting something better than what I could make at home (and yes, I have made sushi before with sashimi-grade fish, sushi rice, etc.). It is convenient to have someone cook for you, and good sushi is supposed to feel like an extraordinary experience. That's why I dine out at sushi restaurants but this just didn't hit the spot. Overall, amazing service, but the food was pretty underwhelming for the price.

The food is fine but nothing that made me think, "Yes, we're coming back." There were a few patrons there, but it must have been a restocking day or something because some of their supplies were spilling out of the kitchen into the dining areas, so it wasn't a great vibe. I did like how they were playing regional programming on the TVs so we had something to look at as we ate, but on the whole, it might be better on the weekends when people are filling the restaurant and bringing the energy up.

Amazing teriyaki! Tied with the best in town with Fuji Teriyaki…read more The teriyaki sauce is sweet so I def recommend adding at least a level 1 spice to give it more oomph. The fried rice is basically white rice with veggies - not very flavorful or wok hei seasoned. It'd be amazing if yall fried it more, added more seasoning esp white pepper. Wouldn't recommend upgrading from steamed rice. The spicy chicken teriyaki is more of a dry teriyaki but it is delicious. Not gochujang based, more sambal and very yummy. I wish they would stir fry with veggies like Fuji does but still delicious and definitely recommend. As soon as you walk in the door you know it'll be rly good. Any place that has the owners kids playing or workin there will always be good. They were quick even though they were swamped at 3PM. They had a ton of door dash orders while i was there as well. As far as interior it's really cute and welcoming. They got part of my order wrong (I wanted steamed rice with the spicy chicken and got fried rice but since it still clumped together i didn't mind.) Def go here! My teriyaki rankings: Zabdi = Fuji, Kobo (they have a new owner so this isn't accurate to date. I've heard it's bad now), GG's, Royal's, Kobe, Happy Teriyaki (absolutely awful fried rice. Teriyaki is yummy but the rice was so bad it's made me jaded). Thanks for attending my TED talk
