Koch 33 Ford, DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CLIENT SAFETY!!! Koch 33 Ford sold me a vehicle that should have never passed state inspection or allowed to be driven off the lot. Below is my side of the story. I have an inspection report from a local garage attached. I took a used SUV that I was interested in for a test drive with salesmen Greg in the passenger seat, it had new inspection stickers on it. Made a right-hand turn heard knocking that got faster as I slowed down, then eventually stopped (Greg acknowledged that he heard it also) I also mentioned that the SUV struggles to stop, like the brakes need work (Greg did not acknowledge that statement). But as I said above the SUV had brand new inspections stickers on it, weeks old inspection stickers according to the date. How bad could it be? I get a good price with negotiating for a short time and bought the Toyota RAV4. Fastest purchase I ever made at a dealership. Should have been a sign! I took the SUV to a local garage the next week to get it looked over with a purchase inspection, I want a background on the SUV, a list of things I will want to start fixing or maintaining since it is an older 2007 with 166K on it (bought it as a secondary or beater) so there will be old parts and neglected things that were put off by the previous owner(s), we all do it! Want to get ahead of things to get the old SUV to last. Expecting it to be a safe and solid car, only to find that I have been driving an SUV for a little over a week that should NOT HAVE PASSED State-Inspection. Brake Pads were rusted and warn, Rotors/Linkages are warn/rusted and have bad compression (makes sense why the SUV, STRUGGLES TO STOP!). BOTH REAR SWAY BARS BUSTED, (makes sense why the SUV, WAS KNOCKING ON TURNS) along with 2 other red safety issues that no garage will let a vehicle pass, was the cabin filter needed replaced and 5 safety or exterior lights on the SUV were out or nonfunctional (the Filter and Lights I had fixed on the spot since that was expected and to me not a big deal). I called to see what Koch 33 Ford could do since I drove a vehicle off the lot that is NOT ROAD WORTHY, they really did not seem to have a sense of urgency (was not them in the car and they have their money). I feel that they do not care that they sold me a vehicle that I could have gotten hurt or done harm to others (or worse), even though they inspected the SUV a few weeks before I bought it. Since they were not showing signs of getting back to me (hours went by) no return call, I got the SUV back from Dave's Auto in Stockertown and brought the SUV back to Koch 33 Ford myself and talked to one of the sales managers, Jim (since Greg was with another customer) It seemed like Jim already had my car info pulled up, looking into things which was insuring. I told Jim that it is not a safe car that I am just giving Koch the key and provided them with the inspection report from Dave's, I would like to know how they intended to fix it and a schedule. Only to get resistance saying "the rotors and brakes passed inspection when they had it" I asked them to look it over and give another opinion they can keep it and left, I did not want to get into an argument. A full day day went by with no call or contact in any way. So, I stopped in again on my way home from work (1 and a half days) after around lunch. Only to find out that they intended to just fix the sway bars, had to show them Dave's inspection report AGAIN, with the braking system as well, that was about to turn into an argument, but the sales manager said that he was going to talk to the techs because he doesn't know inspection laws. 10 minuets later he came back and finally said we will fix that also "parts were just ordered". I do not really trust them much right now, so I may have it checked again. I am glad I did not wait to have the vehicle looked over by someone else, I feel that if months went by I would have been shafted, either had a crash or brought it in because something was not working right, and been stuck with a heavy repair bill! That they would have said, it is on you to fix this is typical maintenance, wear and tear on a vehicle of that age. Even though if I was paying for an inspection, if it was my car already they would not have passed it the first time. Koch 33 Ford, does the bare minimum to scrape by with inspections when they are selling a used car overlooked fatal items (thinking about reporting them to the state or PennDOT!) and will sell you a vehicle that is not fit to be on the road! Everyone knows that if you were getting the car regularly inspected at the establishment they would not pass it and charge you for every little thing like wiper blades. I had to go through a lot of effort to get them to do the right thing with a UNSAFE suv! I have photos of my local garage's inspection report attached if interested, sorry for the book. Never take your vehicle there for service!! Brought my 2010 F-150 there for a transmission service recently and when I got it back it had a bad transmission leak. Never used to leak a drop before it went there!! Took it back so they could fix it and they tried to charge me $200 just for looking at it and then parts + labor on top of it to fix the leak, THAT THEY CAUSED. And the "transmission service" is misleading too, generally a transmission service includes cleaning and resealing the transmission pan, installing a new filter and changing the fluid. All they did was flush it. 0/10 would strongly discourage anyone from taking their vehicle there for service, unless you like flushing money down the toilet. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We purchased a used vehicle and we got a warranty with it and they could not get us in for an appointment until after the warranty was up. They did not even honor the fact that we had a warranty and then went ahead and told us that the vehicle had all of these issues AFTER we purchased it. They wanted to charge us a fortune to fix all of these things. We got nothing done with the prices being outrageous and they STILL CHARGED US HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR NOTHING. I purchased a used 2023 Honda Civic from this dealer. I was not informed until all the sales paperwork was signed that there was only one FOB for the car. I was resigned to paying for a duplicate, but attempts by a locksmith and my local Honda dealer to make one were unsuccessful due to something interfering with access to the module that controls the FOB. Koch did offer to have their service staff try to pinpoint the problem, but after a feeble attempt, that indicated they couldn't find any issues. I returned to my Honda dealer, who after 3 hours of troubleshooting, and $600 of labor cost, discovered stereo wiring, installed by the previous owners, was interfering with the cars electrical system. This was on top of the $250 to buy a FOB and have it programed. Several attempts to have Koch reimburse me for the labor cost I incurred fell on deaf ears. Obviously, they don't stand behind their vehicles, or honor their 30 day warranty on used vehicles. Buyers beware! read more

Stopped in to drive a pre- owned vehicle on the Ford lot. 2015 Jeep JLUR with factory installed Fox suspension lift. Photos on line and description looked very good. Driver seat had a large tear on too that was not referenced either in verbiage or pictures online. Salesman said they would fix it, no problem. Took it for a test drive. Something was clearly wrong with steering stabilization and it was near impossible to keep the vehicle within the lane at highway speed. Returned and informed salesman of the issue and that the vehicle should not be showed or driven until issue was resolved. Sales manager pushed hard for a sale and said they would fix the front end "if I bought the vehicle first." I politely declined and left. The next day the Jeep was still for sale, only $4000 cheaper. I ended up buying a 2018 Jeep JLUR from a reputable Jeep dealer in Penargle, PA (Dotta Jeep). I have worked at an Auto Group and have never seen this level of shady sales tactics from a large auto group that I encountered at this dealership. Given their lack of vehicle checks and completion of required repairs prior to selling them, I would not consider this dealership again and cannot recommend Koch unfortunately. Its a shame as they are a long- term dealership in the area. read more

While i got a decent price on my vehicle... I'm VERY disappointed in the customer service of this dealership. I bought my vehicle in June, At the end of August and I still do not have my permanent registration. I have made several calls regarding the issue, and was assured that it would be sent out that day. Still nothing. I spoke to the service manager today who is going to "look into it" As for service, i bought a used vehicle, and i get it sometimes there are issues. I had an issue i. Which my temperature gauge was showing the vehicle overheating i took it in, was told it was fixed. I left the dealership and the issue happened again. When i went back i was told by the service writer that i was "crazy" (his words) and nothing was wrong. This issue plagued me for 8 months, and now it is fixed and not by the team at Koch 33. If I could give this no stars, I would! I purchased my leased vehicle from them on 4/10/19 and as of today, they still have the money for the car, but have not paid it!!! (I'm glad I checked to see if it was paid off or not!!) The first excuse was because they "forgot to have me sign documents" and "didn't anyone contact me?" NO ONE EVER CALLED ME!!! Purchased a used vehicle (3rd car purchased from Koch). No issues with sales process... however obtaining an extra key was part of the deal we made. Two months go by. Turns out they never ordered the key. I give them a week+ to get the key and scheduled an appt. I show up. Wait 3 hrs only to be told they don't have the key. Speak to sales manager and get into heated argument because I want them to just give me the value of the key and I'll take my business elsewhere. He says he doesn't have to do anything for me or listen to my complaints and walks off even though the key was part of the flipping deal. Service managers step in and try to fix things by finding key at other dealer and expediting getting it here and cut/programmed. Kudos to them. I'm never doing anything with Koch ever again and will always steer people away. You lost a customer over an extra key. Way to go, jackass. read more

Truck service shop at Koch 33 Ford provided excellent service. Our class C motorhome developed a grinding noise coming from the rear and we were away from home. Even though the truck shop was busy, they went out of their way to accommodate our emergency. Everyone we dealt with, from the service desk associates to the truck shop mechanics, was friendly and helpful. They were able to get the work done way ahead of their projected timeframe. Our motorhome was fixed right and the warranty paperwork handled efficiently. We are not related to anyone in the organization-- before this, we had never even heard of Koch 33 Ford. Over the years we've been "down the dusty road" with RV dealers and mechanics-- seen good and bad. Our experience at KOCH 33 Ford was totally positive-- especially the truck shop. I am currently on my 4th hour of waiting in the service department. I brought in my husbands truck for service and NO ONE has communicated with me. I had to seek out the service technician the first time and my husband had to call to get answers the second. I understand covid slows things down. But covid should not impact the paying customer by making them wait for 4 hours (still counting) without any communication unless they sought it out. Never did I feel so humiliated and treated with such a lack of respect. David Walker a Sales MGr at Koch 33 Ford talked down to me like I didn't even matter. He uses old 1980's bully Tactics to try and sell a car. Instead of negotiating a deal, he just wanted to argue publicly with me in front of a lot of people. He showed zero professionalism and was far from being courteous. When I responded to his lines being an educated consumer, he didn't like that he couldn't push me around. Cory Wismer another Sales Mgr acted the same. Over the phone when they called me saying they need to sell 10 more F-150 trucks, he was begging me to come in. I stated that my times was limited and since they are 40 mins away I need to be certain that the trade offer was where I needed it. He agreed to offer me that and said come on in. He greeted me very cold. And sent me off to a Sales Rep and didn't get involved. After getting to my trade he gave me a figure $4000 less. He broke his own word and literally lied to me in the attempt to stop in. After I expressed that his lying made me angry in a calm voice he starts saying he felt threatened and said he didn't have to be treated like that. If he had told the truth and honored his own word, I would have been pleasant and not angry. That's when Cory and David Walker started putting me down and degraded my trade in vehicle and me. Felt like the 80's in Philadelphia with the used car salesman tricks. My advice is to shop around. Kept me waiting over an hour and a half to sign paperwork. When I complained about the wait they suggested I not buy the car and just go home. So I did! Purchased new 2020 F150 on Jan 4 2021, noticed last week that my inspection expired in Feb 2021. After my inspection today, the garage technician at my local garage laughed, you just hit 451 miles. The positive out of this was that I did not get pulled over prior to seeing the out-dated inspection. Very disappointed with the sales staff at Koch 33. I went in search of used SUV, the vehicle I was looking at purchasing had slight damage to front grill. The salesman was not aware of damage. When the hood of car was opened the air valve intake was 'glued'. The salesman said if I purchased car it would be replaced. I decided to purchase vehicle, HOWEVER, on my very lengthy time waiting for financing, I was given the car fax ... 2 owners, 2 accidents, no second key. Bought a 2015 Toyota RAV4. The tire pressure sensor light was on and they said they would take care of it. Picked up the car the next day and the light was off. A week later the light was back on so I checked the tire pressures to see if there was a leak. Recommended pressures for these tires is 33 psi. One tire had 39 psi another had 37 psi one had 34 psi and one had 28 psi. I can't believe they couldn't even check the pressures in those tires before they reset the pressure sensor. I set them all at 33 psi a week ago and now it's fine. Hard to believe they want my business after this. read more

Extremely pushy. I understand that obviously the dealership's goal is to have you drive away in a car that day, but everyone at this dealership was so pushy. The salesman asked what price he had to get it to for us to walk away with a car that day, then he had his manager come over & ask us the same thing. I told them that we would not be purchasing a vehicle that day & that we 1. have time to decide 2. have other vehicles we need to look at. Within a day or two later, I received a text message from someone at the dealership letting me know to let them know if I have any questions. He still has original parts on it. Things that were supposedly fixed with his air conditioning unit bare NOT fixed! And as far as that mechanic could see was that they did not do anything with the air conditioning unit to try to fix it, after we were told that it was closely looked at. You guys took my husband's car for 4 days!! I am livid right now, thinking of how we have trusted you guys for so many years, all the cars we bought, family and friends we have referred to you guys and other customers who might be bringing their cars to your dealership and because they are not mechanic themselves are getting screwed because they TRUST you all! Your service department is telling them that they replace parts but honestly they are not! I'm not even going to go into deep detail of the customer service we have received a Your FORD Service Center, but a Service Manager who is supposed to "resolve things" has no right to scream at my husband over the phone! Purchased a 2021 Escape Hybrid mid April to tow behind our RV. Paid more to buy from Koch, but they had the car we wanted on the lot, we liked the sales manager and the dealership was closer to home. Sales process was fine and the car is great, follow up with Koch has been terrible. Ordered roof racks which were supposed to come in within a couple days. They did come in, but sales rep ordered racks for a different vehicle. It's been over a month now and the only follow up is when I contact them. Will be in the market for an F150 in August, but would not purchase from them again or recommend them. In the Lehigh Valley area I have found Ciocca Ford in Quakertown to be the best. read more

I bought a 2013 Ford F-150 from Koch in November 2019. I originally wanted as $10k vehicle. Was hard talked into the $20K vehicle because I was sold on it being thoroughly checked and more reliable. Figured double my budget worth the premium price and increased payment. (Koch is really expensive). As it turns out, in the following 7 months I have poured thousands in repairs on this vehicle. Struts. Shocks. Turbo. Coolant leaks. Water pump. Thermostat. All big ticket items. It has left me stranded 3 times and forced me to upgrade my AAA membership to cover the amount to towing that has been required. All this after paying over book value for the vehicle. It's insanely frustrating to purchase a vehicle from a dealership and bleed out on trying to keep it on the road. I attempted to make note of this to the dealership. No really substantive call backs. Further, I took it back to this dealership for the "complimentary oil changes" that come with the purchase of the vehicle. The first was ok, but at the second all of a sudden over $4000 in issues pop up! Seems odd to me?!? Insult to injury is that while so focused on making sure we had big ticket items the dealership did not alert me to the serpentine belt wear. It was apparently so worn it failed about 100 miles after the multipoint inspection, at highway speeds, thus again requiring a tow. Seems to me the belts would be part of a multipoint inspection?? When you purchase from a dealership you expect a certain level of quality and service - you pay the dealer price for that. I have mentioned to the dealership staff several times that this is bleeding me out, and you just get a blank stare back. Round and round we go. Guessing by other reviews.... this isn't uncommon. I wish I would have checked reviews before purchasing and avoided this dealership. After posting negative review the "sales manager" reached out via google. I returned the call, and explained things. As a small business owner I really hate giving bad reviews. Firstly we do love our new truck we purchased in early Jan 2020 and the sales experience itself was great. But after a few hours came the end dreaded paperwork. The gentleman at the finance department really pushed a bunch of unnecessary "extended" warranties. One was a bit of switcher-roo the "free"extended warranty looked exactly like another $3000 one that was speedily double talked in. Tired, hungry and anxious to be on our way we simply signed at all X's The next day after reviewing all the paperwork we headed back down to cancel the extras while being reminded constantly how important they were. The first two went back on to the end of the loan eventually but this third one is in limbo since February. No one will give us and straight answer to were it actually is. Terrible service. Bought a used Jeep there (my mistake). Just over the year mark and my stock radio now is having issues. Of course they want me to pay about $130 to diagnose the issue, which I already explained as it seems a common issue, and to to say they cover nothing. So be very very careful about these 'warranties' that they sell you. They don't actually cover anything. I'm certainly stuck with the car for now, but I will never ever go back there for service OR to purchase again. Very disappointed. read more

My review is two-fold, the car I got is awesome, however, the finance paperwork has been a complete DISASTER! My ex-husband co-signed on the loan for me, because he was out of state the paperwork had to be sent overnight express...that was not the problem. The problem was, #1, even though they had a copy of his driver's license they misspelled his last name on the application (thus on the credit report & therefore on ALL the paperwork). Also, we made it VERY clear that MY name (as the other signer on the application) and address was to be the primary on ALL paperwork since I was the one who would have the car itself and be making all the payments & be rebuilding my credit. Now one month out the paperwork is STILL not correct and I have tried repeatedly to contact the finance manager with no return phone calls!!! Isn't part of the finance manager's job to ensure correct information on the paperwork?? read more
