This is a quaint, cozy coffee shop on Audubon Street. I like the back enclosed patio area though the up-front area is chill, too. They don't have loose-leaf teas, which is a shame, but they do offer one homemade vegan baked good: an oatmeal apricot bar ($2). While I'm not usually a fan of those types of "healthy" desserts (I prefer vegan cookies and cupcakes, not oats and fruit), I must say that their take is really good: it's soft, not too sweet, and just tastes fresh and great. If Koffee had some vegan sandwiches (how about a bagel sandwich with fake sausage?) and some more traditional vegan desserts, I'd be back often. read more

Really fun place to hang out. I like coffee shops like this with couches and painted tables and books on the shelf and art work everywhere--as opposed to the more sterile, Seattle, Starbucksy uniform wood look. So really comfortable place to hang out. Staff is friendly and casual. Coffee is good. Music is always interesting. The only issue is that it does get really, really crowded. Particularly attracts Yale students with laptops. Sometimes it is almost impossible to find a seat. I don't like regular coffee, but I love mochas and other frou-frou coffee drinks. When Koffee's drinks are good, they're really good, but they tend to be inconsistent. I'm sad to say that I'm not crazy about their Nutella latte. The idea is amazing, but I find it's too sweet. Perhaps I just haven't had a good one... I've had their sandwiches, salads, and sweets. Everything has been all right, nothing remarkable. The reason I keep coming back here is the atmosphere. I find it cute and cozy, a nice little getaway even if I'm just popping in on a quick break from work. You can sit outside during the summer if you can snag one of the few small tables. I kind of feel like I just reconnected with a former boyfriend, and suddenly things are really working out between us. I'm not sure what kept me away from Koffee for so long or really what motivated me to try it again, but man, I'm glad I did because I think this may be the beginning of a beautiful rekindled relationship. Visiting here on a week night around 9pm. Lots of people working, a few people having subdued conversations, cool music playing: I'm loving the relaxed vibe. It's a great alternative to going to a bar and it's not overrun by students. The patrons are a wide range of ages. The mugs are incredible. When I saw my scrumptious Nutella Latte being passed across the counter, I thought "wow, that's the medium?" My boyfriend got a large chai which was also perfection. We shared a delicious chocolate chip cookie which was a nice compliment to our beverages. It was around $11 for our items, which I felt was reasonable for an independent coffee shop, particularly when observing the portion sizes of the drinks and the pleasant presentation. The barista who took our order was also friendly and amusingly entertaining while we waited for our drinks. He also suggested that we try the chocolate chip cookie and told us a little about their beer selections, which was informative. A+ for ambiance. The only downside was that it was crowded when we first arrived. Luckily two people were leaving so we were able to snag their recently vacated seats on the comfy couch. Very happy with my Koffee experience. Will definitely be returning. Perfect spot for a casual hang out. read more

We went here for cocktails after work. They offer a half dozen coffee and tea based cocktails as well as beer and wine. My friends had been several times during the day, and asserted that the coffee was quite good although the baked goods were not particularly beloved. I started off with a Mocha Tan and then got a Fireside Tea. The mocha had a nice base, but both were a bit alcohol forward for me (probably as a result of cheaper booze being used). It wasn't the kind of cocktail I'd get excited about normally. On the other hand, they were less than $8 apiece, which is an excellent price point around here. They had advertised Thursday record playing, but we saw no evidence of that when we went. Overall, probably a good place to grab your morning coffee, and a cheap place to grab an okay coffee cocktail and chat. read more

Really chill, intimate place to sit and work. They've got tables set up everywhere. There's sort if a mishmash of furniture, but it fits the vibe. They have an amazing jalapeño cheddar scone that rocks my world and the frozen Nutella drink is a frequent after-work treat. They serve beer and wine after five, so it's a nice place to unwind. I go there to get work done and everyone is really respectful. There's no yelling out of names every five seconds like at a Starbucks. My first local cafe visit in New Haven, and I was not disappointed! Koffee is small and cozy with plenty of outlets for those who need to charge up. I love the eclectic seating and decor. I have been on a chai kick recently, so I ordered an iced chai. They serve it in a real glass, which is fantastic. The drink was good- not the best I've ever had but not substandard either. Koffee is my go-to coffeeshop. The baristas are incredibly friendly and tend to remember what I order - coffee, lattes, or steamers, with the occasional tea or chai. Their espresso drinks are consistently good, and they're conscientious about them - I've seen a barista spontaneously give a customer a second cappuccino, unasked, because he worried he'd scalded the milk for the first one. If I get a flavor shot, they'll often ask me to taste it to see if I'd like more syrup. Basically, their service is really good. Though I get their food less often, I can absolutely vouch for the Odd But Good sandwich as being, well, odd but good - apples, brie, and honey is indeed tasty together. They also have excellent muffins in a range of sizes (large, medium, and tiny), tasty chocolate chip cookies, and cupcakes by Sugar (the same as the cupcake truck). Alas, since it's so good, it's also popular. Koffee is often crowded, and I'll occasionally have trouble finding a seat. However, if I need to spend a while there studying and buying coffee, there's generally enough turnover that I can find a place to work, so it's not a big problem. The place definitely has a "lived in" feel with worn couches and chairs, and the christmas light decorations help make the place cozy. There's a good selection of coffees and teas.
