The food was very flavourful and spicy (at least for me). We had the Kor Moo Gaeng Kua $25.95 (coconut curry with pork jowl), the Braised Beef Mas Sa Man $22.95 (tamarind coconut red curry, peanut, and potato), Goong Moun $15.95 (tofu w/ shrimp spring roll) for appetizers, and a mango sticky rice for dessert. Both the coconut curry and tamarind coconut red curry have very rich, creamy, and flavourful sauces. We had the spice level mild for both dishes, but that was still too hot for me, personally. That has nothing wrong to do with the dishes, but just my personal tolerance level. The coconut curry was a treat to eat. The pork jowl was very gummy and chewy. There was also a fried, battered leaf in the dish to provide a crunchy texture to the dish. The tamarind curry was equally as good. The braised beef was a little sweet and tender. There are also nuts in the dish to provide that crunchy texture. The tofu spring rolls we ordered provided much needed relief from the spiciness of the curry dishes. I would have some spring rolls in between to help subside the spicy sensation of the chilis. The spring rolls was surprisingly filling. Our group of 2 was not able to finish all of the tofu rolls and had to take some home. We ended the dish with a delightful order of mango sticky rice. It was another order that helped counteract the the spicy, burning sensation my tongue was having. We appriciated the vibe and look of the place. There were properly thought out furnishings around the space and the walls. Service was also top tier. Our waiter was very patient explaning the dish description, the spice levels, and also saying how the dish is pronounced.
This was an amazing restaurant. The dishes tasted so good. It got rewarded from Michelin since 2022. When we called in around 2pm to reserve 6pm table, they were full, only have a spot at 5:30pm and dining time for 1.5 hours. They were pretty busy when we arrived around 5:45pm. And so many people waited outside for tables. We were lucky to book it in advanced. The server was so nice and patient to introduce the popular dishes to us. I couldn't tell by the name of the dish, but I remember what she told me the good ones. The App we ordered the shrimp rolls (Goong Moun $15.95). There were 4 big rolls. The meat was shrimp and port mixed, a little bit spicy and salty. You must dip the fish sweet sauce together, that would make it tasty and not that salty. The main we got a pork curry dish and Tom Yum beef mild (Leng Tom Yum $35.95). My little girl loved the beef without the Tom Yum sauce so much. But I liked the curry sauce more, however, there was no veggies in it. This one was a bit expensive (Kor Moo Gaeng Kua $25.95) with a few pieces of pork only. The 2 main dishes were both come with rice. We ended up with packing up the rice and the sauce home for another meal. It's really tasty meal, and we would definitely come back again for other dishes.
Excellent food and service inside the unassuming mall across from the much busier Pacific Mall. The food is excellent and properly spiced with herbs like they do in Thailand. The multi-year Michelin stars is a testament to the food so I do not see any need to say that the food is good. On top of that the service is attentive and polite. You have to try it.....but bring your wallet!

I've been here twice now, celebrating two birthdays. The servers are always nice and attentive. Food menu is extensive and portions are big to share with two people. The prices are average, more on the expensive side for Thai food. Flavours are always good and quality is good. The seating is comfortable, lots of tables, good for groups, and decor and aesthetics are nice. Please note: a new $2 per person cake fee is in place. So just a warning if you're planning on having a birthday here with a large party, that fee could add up. 18% gratuity is automatically charged on all receipts
This is one of my favourite Thai spots in the city! After visiting the Downtown location multiple times, I finally tried the Scarborough one and I was happy to learn that it was just as amazing! Their dishes taste as great as they look. My favourites are the khao neow gaeng (I always get it with shrimp!) and the pad see ew. You can't skip their mango sticky rice for dessert; it comes with a unique chocolate shell that's so fun (and delicious) to crack. The interior is very beautifully decorated and colourful. There are stunning paper/origami decorations, plants, and neon signs all around the interior. This is the perfect spot for a date, meal with friends, or just whenever you're craving something flavourful and comforting. Be sure to book a reservation because spots can fill up fast!
My group and I dined here during the holidays and made a reservation to avoid long waiting times. The interior is nicely decorated and the atmosphere is lively. Our server was quick to attend to us and gave us plenty of time to decide. We ordered: Gui Chai Tod 4.5/5: perfect if you like chewy textures and the sauce is good Goong Moun 3/5: mainly because it's too spicy for me so I couldn't even finish my piece Luok Jhim 4/5: seafoods are fresh Pad Thai (shrimps) 2.5/5: definitely on the sweeter side, and I didn't taste much other flavors Khao Pad 3.5/5: this was good but didn't stand out too much either Overall this was a great restaurant to try, but I guess I was expecting a bit more with all the hypes.
Ordered the pad Thai (mild). BOGO offer from uber. The mild had zero spice level. The noodles itself were soggy and no flavour. The portion size is the right amount, but I would not pay full price for this pad Thai. It was not tasty. When I dined in, everything was so spicy so I decided to go mild for the pad Thai.
I got the chance to try out Koh Lipe recently and what a great experience I had! This restaurant is on the Michelin Guide, and you can just tell once you dine here why it would be! First off this restaurant is beautiful, with stunning decor that really represents what Thailand would be like. The staff is so kind and the service is really great as well. We got the chance to try the Tofu Pad See Ew which was delicious and very flavourful! Along with the Mango Sticky Rice which was amazing and would definitely come back for. A super nice place to come dine in with family and friends, would highly recommend! 9/10 recommend!
Recommend the crunchy pork belly with side of limey dipping sauce! Shrimp chips with peanut sauce so good. Pad Thai was okay. Apparently Michelin awarded!

I am a Koh Lipe fan!!! Always enjoy my experience and the food here. The restaurant is located in a plaza/mall - which you would have to enter to get to the restaurant. It's decorated very thoughtfully, full of colours, and attempts to resemble the vibes of a Thailand restaurant. We ordered the pad Thai, mas sa man curry, Thai milk tea, mango sticky rice, and gui chai Tod. Everything was so tasty! My favourite being the mas sa man curry! It's full of flavour and absolutely delicious! The gui chai tod was something new that i tried which is a savoury deep fried tapioca/rice flour dish that also comes with a dipping sauce. Pretty unique but still tasty! The pad thai is a classic! And we obviously had to finish off with dessert - the classic mango sticky rice - not too sweet and honestly satisfied my cravings. Service was great!
I've wanted to try Koh Lipe for a while, and so I got it for takeout. I ordered chicken pad thai (extra spicy), pad see ew (non spicy), and tom yum chicken wings. Chicken wings were delicious, especially with the sauce it came with. The chicken pad Thai was just as delicious and so different from the pad thai flavours that I'm used to. Pad see ew was good, just like any pad see ew anywhere. Prices are super steep for the portions though.
There was a lot of hype around the downtown location so I was excited when they opened uptown. It did feel a bit out of place inside the Splendid China Mall but it was a good experience nonetheless. Food was good, but I think we should have gone for the chicken instead of shrimp for the pineapple sticky rice dish. The tofu skin rolls were surprisingly good and my favourite of the meal. The salted caramel brick toast with Thai milk tea ice cream was really yummy as well! I wanted to try the mango sticky rice but could not eat any more so will have to save it for next time! read more
Good place to try out once if you are looking to try new and different Thai foods. We got he coconut curry which was AMAZING and the pad Thai with shrimp. The pad Thai is not like the classic pad thais that is peanut based, it was more tomato/ketchup flavored which kind of threw us off but still enjoyed it. Price is a little on the higher side. This place is also Michelin rated but I think we might have just gotten the wrong items. Would recommend for everyone to try out once. read more

The place is nicely decorated and gives a nice ambiance. I must say the music was a bit too loud and made it hard to have conversations during the meal and I went during lunch on a Saturday. The service was good and food came out relatively quick. Very flavourful and very delicious. I also got the Thai iced green tea which I didn't post but it was more bland than I thought as Thai tea, the bright orange one is super sweet. The green one is very watered down almost compared to the regular orange one. I would come back as the food was good and ask about when they do special nights with live entertainment. Note they charge an automatic 18% service charge to groups 6 or more. read more

Haven't been to the location downtown but have heard good things and wanted to check out this new Scarborough location. It's located in the splendid china mall, and the restaurant space is pretty big. We tried some food and drinks and enjoyed everything we ate. The menu has a good selection of options and some dishes aren't typically seen at other Thai restaurants in the city. Service was good, it was pretty fast upon being seated and ordering. There were many tables seated in the restaurant when we dined in. We've ordered take out from here as well and it was packaged well, but I believe some things were missing the last time we ordered take out (like peanuts and sauce was missing for dishes that we had gotten previously). I like how the selection of Thai places are growing in Scarborough area and you don't need to go all the way downtown for some of the same meals! read more
Heard good things about this place- esp their downtown location and it's on the Michelin guide. I decided to try this Scarborough location with my family tonight. We ordered the spring rolls, fish cakes, pad Thai x2 ( shrimp and chicken) and khao soi beef. Spring rolls and fish cake came first and they were decent in taste however I didn't find them outstanding. The Khao soi beef was good in taste however, it lacked curry soup and actually cooked fresh noodles that's not fried. I literally had to dig to the bottom to find the actual cooked noodles and not the fried ones. The amount of beef was decent. However the amount of fried noodles and lack of curry soup base was disappointing. The pad Thais were both good, my parents likes it and so did my brother. Overall it was good, however there are better Thai locations. read more
Came here on a last minute decision on a Wednesday night and there were still tables. It's in a super quiet mall and this restaurant had the most people so you can tell that is good. I got the khao soi with beef but I can't handle spice that well so I felt the burn after and my friend for the pad mee. The beef in the khao soi was super tender and it paired well with the noodles and bean sprouts and the preserved veggies. You can also tell that this place is authentic as everyone spoke Thai and the servers check in on tables every so often to make your the food is ok. I would definitely come back but probably try something less spicy. read more
My favourite Thai spot in Toronto has opened a location in Scarborough and I could not be happier. I LOVE Koh Lipe - the quality of their food is just amazing. I've had Thai food before but something about this spot just hits. My favourite dishes are the Khao Neow Gaeng (pineapple curry chicken with coconut sticky rice, presented in a pineapple), their pad thai, and the Khao Pad rice. One thing to be mindful of is the spice - even at the most mild level, a lot of their dishes are very spicy! If you're not keen on spicy food I'd stay away from anything marked "spicy". They get quite busy so a reso is a must, but it's very easy to book a spot on their website. I'll be back! read more

3.5/5 Inside Splendid China is Koh Lipe all the way from downtown. Way more spacious than their Baldwin location. We got.... - Moo Tod (deep fried pork belly): Mid. Meat is super dry. Small portion. Sauce is good though, has a nice kick. - Pad Thai: Pretty good standard pad thai - Khao Neow Gaeng: Unique. Extremely spicy curry though to the point of it being almost hard to eat with a slight bitter taste. The coconut sticky rice was great. - Koong Ob Woonsen: Huge portion of vermicelli! Standard taste. Oddly we didnt have the option of choosing spice level as the curry was so spicy. Service is good. Our waitress was good - nice and replenished our water multiple times. Idk this place left me disappointed. read more
At every restaurant my go to dish is the pad kee mao - so of course I had to get one at Koh Lipe. It had good wok hey and was nicely spiced even for being mild! We also got the special - Gaeng Gai Khao Mun which had butterfly pea flower infused coconut rice, chili tamarind paste, curry chicken, dried anchovies. I usually find the proteins too dry in this dish at other locations but everything in the dish was the perfect texture and flavour! I recommend it for sure. For dessert, we had to get a mango sticky rice of course. Unfortunately it's no longer mango season so the mango was a bit tart. The mango sticky rice was tasty. Overall, I recommend checking this place out! read more

My family and I went here to celebrate a birthday and I'm glad they were able to accommodate such a big group. The place was bright and colourful, and our server was attentive and patient with us. Their drinks (blue margarita, pineapple mint smoothie and spicy-m sangria) were so refreshing and made perfectly. The desserts (mango sticky rice and durian sticky rice) are a must-try! It was creamy and sweet with tanginess from the mangoes and the durian added a mild vanilla flavour. The Khao Pad was packed with flavour with the curry and a hint of sweetness from the pineapples. The Pad See Ew was delicious but it was quite on the sweeter side. It had a nice charred smokey flavour. The Pad Gra Pao was quite salty and, in our opinion, could use more basil as the saltiness overpowered the basil. The Gai Tod Hat Yai was complemented perfectly with the crispy shallots and the mix of the earthiness of the coriander and cumin marinade. The Moo Tod was tasty and with a great crunchy texture. The chilli lime sauce was a nice addition of sweetness and tanginess. The Choo Chee Pla Too was a delicious and flavourful seafood dish. The coconut milk with the red curry paste is always a great combination. It's spicy so I wouldn't recommend if you can't handle the heat. Overall, this location seems to be better than the one in downtown in terms of the service and the flavour. read more

I will say my favourite Thai food restaurant. I like spicy food and they didn't change the spicy to accommodate general tastes. Very nice service and the place is clean. Still pretty new and busy, and I think reservations are required. Located inside Splendid China Mall. Can't remember the names of everything as it was in Thai, but ordered a bunch of things to share: a squid and shrimp salad, chicken wings, crispy pork belly, curry chicken in pineapple w/ coconut rice, Islamic Noodles, Pad Kee Mao, stir fried seafood (Prik Pao Talay), shrimp with glass noodles. Overall, the food was very good. The wings and pork belly, were nicely fried and came with their own sauces. I quite liked the pineapple curry chicken with the coconut rice, but some found it a bit too sweet. The pad kee mao was really good, and the Islamic Noodles were interesting, cause not the usual Thai flavours. But everyone's favourite was the Prik Pao Talay. Big platter with lots of seafood, and the smoked chili sauce it was stir fried in, was so good. Went well with everything. Probably one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. I came here with a friend who said this place was a Michelin star place (or was it just recommended to be a Michelin star? I'm still unsure). Anyways, we went on a Saturday evening before the dinner rush and was able to get in quickly. The decor is very nice and the service was fast and helpful as well. The food itself was great. I ordered the pad see ew and it was SO flavourful. Every single bite was bursting with flavour, it was amazing. My friend ordered the Khao pad pla. It was a huge amount of food and there was enough to take out. The only issue I had with it was that it tasted like too much ginger; jt would have been nice to taste the other flavors too. That said, I found it a bit spicy so maybe the spice hid all the flavours. We also ordered the moo tod as an appetizer it was nice and crunchy. I'm not sure how they cooked it because it wasn't super oily, but it was definitely good. I quite enjoyed everything here and would go again to try something different. read more

Brand new location at Scarborough located inside the Splendid China Plaza. Definitely a great addition. The Goong Moun is fried crispy skin tofu rolled with shrimp, carrot, betel leaf. It's a great unique appetizer. Unique where it's not available at other restaurants. The Tom Yum (seafood) with shrimp has a spicy note to it. Tasty to open up the appetite. Great ambiance and spacious seating. The Pad Kee Mao, I like the flat rice noodles, egg, so flavourful and different herbs. The Pad Gra Prao (spicy) is a good portion and delicious. Great addition to the neighbourhood and don't have to commute to downtown. read more

I booked a reservation here for a Friday night and was quick to be seated, otherwise it looked like there was a short 15-20min wait without reservations. The place is in Splendid China Mall and most other stores in the mall were closed. The menu is on a QR code at the table and easy to navigate. I loved that the drinks came quickly, and also food came within 20min of ordering! Not too long of a wait. The matcha Thai tea is something I would come back for! Both mains were flavourful, the pork jowl green curry being quite spicy but my friend loved it. Definitely recommend this spot if you like spicy food and want somewhere casual to have good conversation with a date, or friends and family. read more
Loved the vibe of this classy place! We ordered all tofu dishes, green curry, pineapple rice, and the pad kee mao. I typically eat meat but my family and I went to the temple so we were veggie that day. All the dishes were very delicious given they were tofu, and I'm not a huge tofu girl. The food is pretty good but slightly more expensive than other places. I love their Pad Gra Prao; it's a little spicy than what I used to have but it's fine.. Their crispy pork was dry so I don't recommend that dish. Tom yum fried chicken is good and not spicy at all. It's quite busy on weekends so reservation is recommended. Would come back to try other dishes like khao soi and red curry. The interior is pretty comforting and the services are very attentive and welcoming. Overall it's not a bad place for gathering with friends and family. read more

This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, very kind staff, and great food to go along with it. If you're someone who likes Thai food you should definitely try this place. The Moo Tod was good but not my favourite as it was a bit difficult to eat but still tasted good, strong teeth is a must if you are going to try this lol. The pineapple chicken curry was great as it got me scrapping the bottom of the pineapple looking for more and what was even better was the sticky rice which paired nicely with the curry. My favourite has got to be the seafood platter as the sauces paired so nicely with the white rice. If you plan on going here I definitely recommend the seafood platter as it's big enough to feed 2-4 ppl depending on how big your appetite is. read more

We went here because we love Thai food and this restaurant popped up in the Michelin's guide. Oh my god we are sorely disappointed. Let's start with reservation; just to have a reservation we had to give them their our credit card number. That's absurd but we let it slide. When we arrived, there was no menu. For something that's trying to be upclass with no menu is shameful and very pedestrian. So it's two strikes thus far. After we ordered, the main course arrived long before the appetizer, and after we finished the appetizer and nearly all of the main course, after being asked, only then the rest of the food came. None of the food was hot (temperature wise) with their coconut rice neither smelled nor tasted like coconut milk at all... and that's $4.50 for a small serving. Food quality itself? It's not bad, but not good either, not deserving Michelin star at all. Ambiance and service quality were poor too. Loud music forced is to almost practically talked loudly to one another... so pedestrian.. and the servers were walking around like a bunch of headless chickens truly killed what's left of the ambiance. So poor that I won't be back. Expecting a minimum of 18% tips for overpriced room temperature food, mediocre flavour, and clueless staff? Never again. Never ever ever EVER again. Especially not at the $100 price for 4 dishes we ordered. read more

Koh Lipe is Michelin recommended for a reason! I went to their Scarborough location and it definitely did not disappoint. We got these dishes: - Peek Gai Tom Yum: which is this delicious Tom yum flavoured fried chicken wings: super addictive flavours and really crispy - Gaeng Ka Ti Sa Tor Nua: their salivating coconut green curry with beef and plantain: I opted out of the stink beans but you are welcome to try it too! I got the medium spicy and I thought it was the perfect spice level for me. - Gaeng Keow Whan: also green curry and my friend got it with tofu. Somehow it tasted spicy and a little different. Can someone tell me why? - Pad Kee Map: classic flat noodle and it definitely had enough wok hai if you know what I mean. 11/10 and you have to get it with a little bit of spice - Pad See Ew: also another classic and I love the Chinese broccoli with it too Dessert: Mango Coconut Sticky Rice: my favorite Thai dessert and I love the coconut jelly they put on top too! The rice krispy topping too added a good texture to it too! I was not brave enough to try to durian coconut sticky rice but maybe next time 100% craving Koh Lipe again. Also got to mention that the service was super quick and staff and kitchen were all so nice ! We had to change our spice level for one of our dishes and they were able to do it for us so quickly! This location was also super pretty with lots of decoration too! I would definitely revisit this location again! read more
October 30, 2023 - Went here for dinner with some friends. I'm happy we went that day, because they had a live band and also dancers. It was quite beautiful to see. But kind of tough to hear the live band, the noise level of the restaurant was loud.. but it was overwhelming... just did t get to hear the introduction of the band or what he was singing. It was still wonderful to experience it. We ordered: 1 Tom Yum - Veggies Tofu 1 Moo Tod 2 Thai Iced Green Tea 1 Khao Soi - Braised Beef 1 Gaeng Keow Whan - Veggies Tofu 1 Khao Neow Ma Muang Everything was yummy! There wasn't one dish that I didn't like. I really enjoyed the Thai Iced Green Tea. The crispy fried pork was so damn good! Definitely will get that again. Service there was very good, it was sometimes a bit hard to get someone.. it was quite busy that night. But overall the staff were all super nice and friendly. read more

Having Michelin Guide recommended Thai food in Scarborough is amazing, and Koh Lipe's new location is a true gem. Nestled away inside Splendid China Mall, the interior space has been totally revamped from its former status as an AYCE sushi spot. The decor is clean and modern, and the interior feels very spacious. Having been to their original Baldwin location, I can say the quality of the food is the same top-notch quality here. Prices are on the higher side compared to other nearby Thai places, but the portions are huge, very filling, and the quality justifies it. As we went during soft opening, service was slow and a bit chaotic, but wait staff were very friendly and I'm sure things will become more organized. All in all a great experience, will be sure to come back to try more of their dishes. read more
Unassuming on the outside, especially since Pacific Mall is a huge distraction to this plaza while passing by. But wow. Ive been to the downtown location so wanted to try different dishes this time. We had the pad thai (10/10), khao neow gaeng (7/10) and the pad see ew (9/10). Flavours were all there for all dishes. Also had a thai iced green tea (10/10) on the side and it tasted like sweet matcha with a floral taste to it, best thai iced tea ive had! This is michelin restaurant and I have high expectation to this restaurant. And guess what the food doesn't let me down!! I order three dishes pad Thai, spicy curry chicken and pineapple fried rice. The best dish you can't miss must be Pad Thai. It is really fabulous. The shrimp is fresh and not too soft not too hard for the pho. The decoration gives you in the Thailand vacation and the waiters wear the beach clothes. read more
This Thai spot is so busy and I can see why, their food here is so good! Came here on a weekend evening (be sure to make a reservation ahead of time!) after hearing good reviews from my friends and it did not disappoint. Got the curry pineapple chicken with coconut rice, shrimp pad thai, and tofu pad see ew. Although we asked for mild for the pineapple chicken, it was still pretty spicy so just a note their spices are next level. My favourite would have to be their pad thai, it was perfectly made and flavours tasted great. Will definitely be back to try more! read more
Some of the best Thai food in the city. A lot of specialty dishes you don't often find at other places. Taste and spice is on point. The new Scarborough has plenty of seating (big reservations made easy!) and is easy to find. Staff are super helpful, attentive and cheerful. Overall this is one of my favourite Thai spots in the city. read more
