I love the products here but the checkouts are always such a mess! I stood there for 15 minutes in line while the checkout lady and the girl getting served talked about the candle she got. It was pretty frustrating. I think the thing i don't understand is that there are always plenty of people on the floor. Why can't some of them jump behind a register and help while it is bottlenecked. eek! Prices are good - just don't go there if you are in a hurry! Also don't trust the size in the hanger. I love Kohls, have been coming here for yrs, and one thing I always liked was how everything was separated by designers, neat, organized, clean, you could go directly to the designer you liked and would always find your size, and exactly what u were looking for. No one here seems to know how to do their jobs. My wife and I stopped to pick up baby clothes for a friend and asked for a gift receipt from the cashier. She didn't know how to give us that, and never asked. She assumed we could go to customer service and they could fix it. The woman at customer service couldn't figure it out in a timely manner either. We are still standing here and it's been at least 25 minutes. If I have an entire day to waste waiting in customer service line, and then stand in front of under-trained employees, I might come here. read more

Was trying to support brick and mortar store. Placed order online to be picked up in store. Clothes did not fit. Wanted to exchange for same items that fit. 1st time in this store. Didn't know the layout. Asked multiple employees for assistance to find items that they just picked. All I got was they are over there. After my 20 minute search I gave up and just got a refund. One late payment on my Kohl's card (I admit I completely blanked out and forgot to pay the 65.00 balance owed) and the company knocked my credit score down 100 points. I had not previously had a late payment of ANY kind for more than 30 years. The rep for Kohl's told me 'there isn't anything we can do'. Furthermore , when I called to cancel my card, I was told I could NEVER open another card with their company again. This seems extremely punitive . I could not get anyone to return my call to discuss this. Needless to say, Kohl's neither values my business nor cares to discuss this matter. The customer service at this location is at the top of my list for laziest employees...I needed to return one item and exchange one item I had purchased the previous week. Since the employee was lazy even though the store was not busy at all she decided to just retuning both items which resulted in me losing some of the kohl's cash I had aquired...if she had done what I originally asked her to do everything on my account and points would have remained the same...when I call customer service all they could say was yeah your right and since they made no attempt to right the wrong of their employee they lost my account and I will never shop at kohl's ever again...account closed forever! read more

Anyone in here remember the now defunct Mervyn's department stores? Well Kohl's hits me as the re-incarnation of Mervyn's. Maybe a tad cleaner with more variety. You still get all the general departments; Clothing for every member of the family, shoes and housewares. I have found the staff to be more helpful than the average department store troll and the prices here are indeed on par, or lower than your average Target or JC Penny. Very disappointed! Tried to use my 20% off and a $10 off for Dad's day purchase and found the electronic item is excluded? WHY? The cashier named off a list of excluded items, A LONG LIST!! They used to accept coupons and then give you another coupon for shopping there! I won't be going back because they send me coupons I cannot use, it's so frustrating. Too many limitation on what is acceptable to use your coupons on. I told the cashier this is a very bad practice for them to be doing to their customers, they will be losing a lot of business because of this change. You know when your kid gets ahold of a crayon and proceeds to color all over everything in sight? Some sick deviant did that in the Kohl's ladies room with feces. I mean it was EVERYWHERE, I can only imagine that the freak who committed this atrocity must have eaten 50 fire tacos at the Taco Bell across the way before proceeding to Kohl's to just blast fecal matter all over every freakin' surface in the bathroom. I loooooove Kohl's! Be sure to like them on Facebook to get access to extra coupons almost daily. You simply show the cashier your phone with the FB discount and they apply it instantly to your already cheap purchase. Typically its a 15% discount on your total purchase, but lately I've been using the 20% they've been promoting. I wouldn't recommend this place for reasonable prices on home goods, but they're perfect for affordable clothing and shoes. read more

There was an associate & manager tonight that were very polite & willing to help me. I received some Christmas gifts that I wanted to exchange & I had to go up 3 separate times to the customer service desk because either the price didn't match or something was on sale & I couldn't exchange it. I never have written a bad review here before today, all because I wanted NOTHING to do with ever thinking about this place again. Where do I begin? Well one day in celebration of aceing my college finals I took myself out on a shopping spree. Knowing Kohl's had reasonable prices I decided to take my business there. Upon finding some dresses to my liking I wait in the 20 minute line, pay over 150 dollars, and precede to walk out the door.Then upon leaving, I get stopped. "Excuse me", she says,"Can you please follow me?" Sure? Super confused, I follow her into a room where she starts accusing me. "So, where is it?" She says. " Where is what?" I respond. This goes on for awhile. Then she says look, I saw you take the dress. Now where is it? WHAT!!?? I repeatedly ask her to see the camera, but she refuses and INSISTS I took it. I show her my bag and inside my purse and finally after a grueling amount of time she says,"well, by law since I can't find it I GUESS I have to let you go." Are you kidding me? Ya, I didn't look my best that day. I had on some workout clothing and I am young. But honestly, none of this is exaggerated at all and her words and attitude were worse than I can describe, not to mention how I felt, which was suuper embarrassed. I tried to get a grip on the situation, then I went back in to talk to a manager. Meeting her, she was very nice to begin with, and told me she would talk to the gm and call me back, and to call corporate. I wanted my name free and clear and a big apology! Well I called corporate, e-mailed corporate, called back Kohl's. No call back, no e-mail, NOTHING. To wrap it up never in my years have I been treated this way, and it's worse when nothing to this severity has been done by anyone in the company. Tell me why the KOHLS at 720 center Dr in SAN MARCOS, CA thinks that they can not only hold someone in custody and ban them from a shopping center parking lot for stealing lipstick, but also send a bill for it to the person and threaten them, mind you when the video of this incident was played back they could not show where any lipstick was stolen, plus the person who was accused had $300 cash on their person and another $900 on her debit card. i will never shop at this kohl's again. i had my daughter return my shoes and my grandson's shoe's and she decided to look for another pair of shoes for my grandson and they pulled her into the office with a sheriff stating that she was making a frauglent transaction which is such bullshit since she had the reciept with her. are you fucking kidding me. don't go to kohl's unless you want to be accused of stealing or fraglent transaction. so out of this world. they could not even apologize to my daughter. now they are say the police were outside and wanted to know were she was in the store. hmmm now why would a sheriiff want to know were a customer was unless kohls said something to them. well now it's time to call the sheriff office and have a little talk with them. but as for shopping ever again in kohls that won't happen and i want everyone in escondido to know what to expect if you go there. First of all, I LOVE Kohl's!!! I have been shopping there for several years now, and I have never had any complaints about the store or customer service! Today was even more exceptional for me, as I usually shop at the store closest to me which is in Oceanside, but I took the time to drive down to San Marcos to exchange a sheet set I bought on Black Friday. I bought the sheets as a gift to myself since they were being offered at an amazing deal... Luxury Collection 600 thread count, sateen silk, 100% Egyptian cotton (heaven). I wouldn't buy anything less now that I have found these. Anyway, on Black Friday they seemed to be out of queen sheet sets, so I purchased a king set just because of the incredible deal! Normally $130 per set, the lowest I have seen them on sale before has been $72. A bit pricey? Yes, but totally worth it! So you can imagine how excited I was to see them marked down as low as $45 for the midnight shopping! Here's my story: After a few stop-ins at my normal store location, they had yet to stock the color I had hoped for in a queen set, so I finally took the time to check out San Marcos. I found them in another color I was admiring for a while, but still no luck with the specific 'blue' I wanted. Bummer. Well, it didn't matter anymore, I just wanted to get the set in my size. So I ended up with white, damask striped sheets in trade for the king set I already had purchased, same brand. At the same time, I had noticed a duvet cover that I was also in the market for and had not seen in a while (thinking it was discontinued), so I grabbed one. It was on a super sale marked down to $65, normally priced at $179. AWESOME!!! I ran back to the customer service center to make my exchange and now buy the duvet cover I had been longing for! I will say, I was disappointed that they only had one guy at the counter helping, and the line was 20 people back... I was the 5th in line (thank heavens). However, for only being one guy, he was pretty quick and efficient. By the time I was up to be called, a second guy opened a register. This guy called me and was super helpful!!!! At first I seemed confused about the whole "return" because an exchange was not possible. There is a price difference between king and queen sheet sets (pretty standard), and even though I only paid $45 to begin with, I still ended up with a credit of $40 coming back to me!!! So return, store credit issue, and then repurchase. Sounds complicated right? Nope. Very simple. After it was all said and done, not forgetting they gave an extra 20% off, and I had a $10 Kohl's cash bonus to use, plus store credit, I ended up with my new queen sheet set and duvet for a total of $60!!!! Let's do the math... 2 items for $60, as opposed to my original transaction which was, 1 item at $45. Each item separately would have cost me over $100 any other day. Needless to say, the customer service rep was awesome! He was very helpful, quick, efficient, polite, and managed to still smile and joke about the day. He didn't act like he hated his job, or give you that "who cares" attitude. He was enthusiastic! I started shopping here since they open. I really had never had a bad experience. Good customer service, all the time. Have a variety of nice items and all kinds of different designer's clothing. For all the different styles from teenagers to grandma's clothing. Most important for all shapes and sizes. You really don't have to do any alterations (Petites ;). The prices are great if you use your coupons. You get really good coupons with your kohls card. Clearance racks should definitely be longer. There is so much clothes that sometimes it's difficult to find something and most of the time there is regular price items mixed in. It's hard to find the size of my kids shoes but with the kios that they have inside the store I can easily check if they have it in stock. One of my favorite stores that supports the community with scholarships for students! Will definitely like to have this store here for ever. They keep getting better and better. read more

Kohl's represents all that is wrong with customer service! Here's the story: I opened an account, thinking, well it's convenient, they have good sales, and so on. Purchased about $300. worth of clothing. When it came time to pay my bill, I checked to see how to do this online. Guess what?? You can't PAY ONLINE. You have to mail a check (which I don't do) or WALK IN TO THE DAMN STORE AND PAY WITH CASH. That means waiting on line behind 10 people with returns, screaming kids, etc. Who is the majority of their customer base that they have to be paid in cash?? They don't take debit cards! I tried calling customer service to get an explanation why this is the policy - that was a journey into stupidity - 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back! Great - so I will pay off my account and CLOSE IT. read more

Kohls has gone the way of so many Companies, ZERO customer service. Executives sit in ivory towers making millions and insulating them selves from customers. Went in to buy a product costing $246. The product was on the shelf, however, could not find one in a box. Went to customer service. Bottom line because they could not find the number on the product, they could not find out if there was one in stock or even if there was one on the way. Told to call after the trucks came in to see if the product was on the truck. I came home and decided to call Kohls customer service. The web site gives no phone number. When you click on contact us a list of useless questions comes up with only FAQ. Searched until I found a number online. When I called I found out some call center was in charge of complaints on the phone. No way to contact Kohls in writing. Stop shopping there. Prices even on sale are the highest anywhere. I will only shop at this Kohl's! Customer service is AMAZING every time I have gone. The store can be messy at times but only because some customers are very messy and lazy but there is always somebody recovering and making the place look tidy while always asking if you need help. I highly suggest opening up a Kohl's charge card! You will receive either 10, 20 or 30% off and they will also have the $10 Kohl's cash! Best place for children's clothes and home decor! The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because the lines can be long but other than that I love this Kohl's! read more

Better organized and cleaner than you would think for what used to be called a junior department store. Clothing galore, home essentials, low to moderate pricing. Downsides: parking in huge unstructured poorly designed lot far away from store hard to exit';many customers do not understand their own purchases and dissect each item with checkers making for lines with delays; next to Wal-Mart with glassy-eyed cattle bearing their "treasures" out the exit chute mooing into the air or staring at their hooves while dragging calves thus clogging car lanes. read more

I placed an order for 1 pair of Nike sneakers which took 45mins(unacceptable) on the stores phone back in Feb I was told they would be shipped to me in 3 weeks( way toooooo long if you ask me) I received the conformation email so everyday I would keep an eye open for the delivery on the last date of delivery I came home early kept my front door open and still no delivery came!!! I called Kohls and asked them where is my delivery they told me my order was cancelled I asked why would you cancel my order??? NOOOOOO One could tell me why it happened!! The next day I saw JC Penney had the same sneakers on sale walked into the store and out I came with them To this day I've made numerous phone calls which I've been on the phone for an hour and still no one has rectified this problem of me getting my refund for these sneakers!! I've been sending emails after emails and still nothing!!! I feel as i'm getting the run around from kohls!! I will never shop, recommend this store to anyone anymore!!!!
