Came in around 5:30 PM to get my suit tailored and was told the associates didn't know how to pin suits , that I'd have to wait for a tailor. I went to a different location and every associate there knew how to do it. The staff at this location seemed more interested in hanging out and chatting with each other than actually helping customers. Being blatantly lied to when I was in a rush is not something I appreciate. There's clearly a staffing issue here. Have never had a worse experience the week of a wedding. Got fitted by this store in March, and returned the week of the wedding to try my tux on and have had to return 3 times because the jacket and shirt didn't fit. I told the gentleman that my jacket didn't fit and the shoulders were too tight, and he said "Yes it's supposed to be tight. It's about how it looks when your arms are down by your sides. You're not supposed to be hulk smashing in a tuxedo." I am a rather large human being and not sure if this was a direct comment towards my size, but due to the fact that this is not only MY 3rd time in this store, we had a groom group of 4 and 2 others had to return 3 times. I am not sure how many times it should take to get fitted for a tux, but we as a group have had the single worst experience with this store and it got worse every time we were asked to return. I paid good money in March for this rental and after 3 alterations and resizes the tux still does not fit. read more

Went for a fitting for my daughters wedding - lost 10-12 pounds after the fitting and the pants were so small they barely buckled! Long story short.. the mistake, which ruined my day was worth a 75.00 credit of the over 200.00 cost! They really didn't care how their screwup affected the most memorable day of my life! They even said the pants were 10.00 of the rental, so 50.00 is more than generous but they'd bump it up to 75.00! Like I give a rats ass in how they split up the 200.00 plus fee! No empathy for what their negligence caused or accountability! Just wanted me "taken care of"! I'll never spend a penny with them and tell everyone to find another place to rent their tux's. Rented a tuxedo for the 250th Marine Corps birthday ball in Philadelphia this past weekend. The complements I received on how it look were unbelievable. A lot people asked if it was a custom made tailored tuxedo. The service and the fit were excellent. Worst experience ever. I brought two suits in to get altered. One that I even bought at this location. They wouldn't touch either of them until I got them cleaned. The tuxedo had a little bit of a smudge from a an event last year and the suit had three dog hairs on them. Both garments were actually Cleaned regularly through the years. Unbelievable. The lady there was nice, so I don't fault her. I fault her company totally. What ridiculously horrible customer service. This is Men's Warehouse, I got exactly what I expected and prefer. I am not expecting $10,000 service and 20 year old scotch on the house because they use a measuring tape and sell formal attire. You get what you pay for, and as long as the cost matches the quality and service everything is on the up and up. Terrible experience renting from this location. $180 rental for a suit worth $200 maybe. Customer service was a joke. Got fitted, they sent the wrong jacket, tried to get me to pay a rush fee when they were the ones that screwed up. Had to drive 2 hours from the venue to pick it up the night before at 8:30 because they wouldn't ship it to a closer location. No refund, even partial, no apologies, no accountability. read more

What is not understandable or acceptable is to finally start helping and then lose interest, I guess, and disappear. We were able to get what we needed but the 4 employees were of little to no help. Ugh, another week and another bad experience at Men's Wearhouse. I was originally there on May 4th to buy a suit (see my previous review). Before leaving, they offered to press it for me, and having spent so much time there trying to get assistance, I didn't have time to wait another 20 minutes for them to press it. So I left my suit. I returned on May 18th and rather than pick up my suit, I decided to get the pants tailored. I get an auto e-mail on May 21st with the subject line: "Your tailoring order ###### is ready". So I go in on the 24th to pick it up, only to be told that the email was for the pressing, not the tailoring. 1) Why would I get an email for pressing, when that was already done and I'm waiting on tailoring? 2) If my suit was left on May 4th for pressing, why would they notify me 17 days later that it's ready (when it takes 20 minutes, not 20 days)? Naturally, I was pretty upset that my time was wasted...again. I explained the situation and my displeasure to Ashley, and she was very unapologetic. I hope she's good at stocking or displays or inventory, because she's not good at customer service or solving problems. read more

My son is a recent college grad, and in need of a suit before he begins his career. He and his dad went to Men's Wearhouse in Mira Mesa the other day, and received such poor customer service that they left without purchasing. Today we tried the Escondido location and had a completely different experience! We were assisted by William who provided amazing customer care. I came here a while back and Patrick was very helpful. I came in feeling nervous because many men in male-dominated industries are rude to women or other people, and Patrick was not like that at all. He never once spoke down to me; he greeted me with a smile and explained everything I didn't know with no belittling. I am not sure if Patrick still works here but he is absolutely awesome. I also came in again this week and Phoenix was super nice and helpful! There was another young employee that was also very helpful...they took my measurements, helped me try on a shirt that was the closest to my size they had, then told me about another store that would have sizes closer to mine. I did find the perfect navy blue socks I needed and couldn't find anywhere else though! Wow, one pair of solid colored socks cost $19, yikes. Overall I really love this Men's Wearhouse because they have continuously treated me with respect, and I appreciate so much that they employee women and trans people! We worked with Jonathan and he provided us the best service we could have asked for. He was very attentive and patient with us as we navigated all of the different options we had. I think James was our salesman. We were allowed to briefly browse as there were multiple gentlemen, young and old being outfitted ahead of us. The floor sales team are very talented and know the inventory. There was even a tailor on site to properly fit me to my new suit. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I ordered two custom shirts for a wedding I'm attending on the East Coast. (I'm 6'5" with a 20" neck, so it's hard to find shirts that don't look like tents.) I ordered them three weeks ago and asked to expedite the order, offering to pay extra because I wanted to ensure the shirts fit before we got on a plane. We were cutting it close. I picked up the shirts on September 21, the day they said they would be done. I was happy to hear they were ready; however, this is when things turned horrible. The shirts were two inches too short in the sleeves, and they were so wide that I could have fit another person in them with me. Obviously, I got my money back, but they totally screwed me. I have no way to get a shirt that properly fits before we leave in two days. To make matters worse, the manager (who is a complete coward) couldn't be bothered to come out and say sorry. Needless to say, I will never go back to a Men's Wearhouse again. read more

I left all of the overpriced crap they sold me to be pressed and tailored, came back in a week and they had it all bagged up ready for me. However, in the store they couldn't find my shoes and discovered that they never even ordered them, i got a refund for the shoes and headed home 45 minutes away. I opened the garment bag and nothing had been done, everything was still wrinkled off the shelf and the buttons for the suspenders were not sewn on the pants. I was going to write a review back at the end of April 2022 but forgot. I started a new job on 5/2/22 in San Marcos and the dress code is a little more strict in comparison to other companies I've worked for. I forgot the gentlemen's name (maybe the history on the computer will show it) but I purchased two pairs of slacks and two Polo Shirts to match. He was one reason why I came back to the Escondido location once I found out the store was there. Today I came in wearing a suit I had purchased from the Oceanside location in 2019 and brought a blue tie to compliment a replacement shirt that I believe I lost at the laundromat last week just incase the shirt wasn't there, at least we could match the tie with a shirt and the suit. I talked to one gentleman briefly when I told him I was looking but I didn't want to take up his time because he was with another customer that was getting fitted. I was able to shop and get an idea on what I wanted and with Danielle's help I was able to purchase a great shirt to match and complement the tie and suit. Unfortunately the buy one suit, get the second at half price I don't believe exists anymore (probably thanks to Covid-19), but at least I have an idea upon my return possibly in November/December (after eliminating the 15 pound of covid weight gain on top of the other 30 I gained from an accident I mentioned in a joking way to Danielle) to be fitted for another suit or possibly two. And rush order get it tailored a day before the wedding. They did not have the groom down as the groom in their system. They had a groomsmen listed as the groom. And forgot to completely order the grooms suit. DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS ON THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF YOUR LIFE. Cause they will ruin it. And have no sympathy for it. Not even their corporate office cared of provided any support during this horrible experience. Weren't helpful in the tailoring aspect of making things fit and making you look great on that special day. Theres was something wrong with everyones suits. And the pick up day is so close to your wedding day that problem with picking up the suit after its been "tailored" is almost impossible. Pants too long after tailoring. White button up not showing through the suit. Jackets too big. I mean. I went to get a suit not to go swimming. One of the groomsmen pants would not stay around his waist the whole night. Ruined his night. (No belt loops for back up. ) We hated the way we looked. Almost all of is. I FELT FAT! . I guarantee it. Ive used Friars tux multiple times and had nothing like this happen to us. First off we went in for a 6 groomsmen party. None of us wanted shoes. We all got charged for shoes. And had to carry those heavy shoes in our bag everywhere we went. Pain in the you know what! Called corporate and got hung up on 3 times. And supervisor called back and there was nothing they could do to make out situation better. Nothing. If this was my business i would be pissed! ZERO STARS! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR ANY SPECIAL EVENT OR RENTALS! My first question is how can a place be so stuck up and so clueless at the same time? Thank you to mens wearhouse for making our wedding day a logistical nightmare! Every single groomsmen outfit was incorrect and did not fit. We came here for an initial consult in November and left with even more questions. The ladies that work there act like they are too good to help you (the three different times we went to ask for help). That is the point where we should have turned around. Instead, we already had the appointment booked so all the groomsmen came in for their fittings and were told OK everything will be ready two days before the wedding for pick up. After multiples typos in email addresses, confirmation numbers etc. we had to call 3-4 times to keep checking if they were ready as it was now the day before. One groomsman did not receive pants at all after receiving a call the MORNING OF THE WEDDING that they were finally ready, he goes to pick them up and a random different name's pants were ready. He had to scramble the day of to go somewhere else and find something else to wear. One groomsman's pants were 13 INCHES too short! Did you measure the inseam of a newborn baby? What a joke haha. I have attached a photo so you can also laugh. Why did you measure the guys if you were just going to give everyone random stuff? We had guys switching vests, pants, nothing fit at all. At least we had a great wedding day and can laugh about it all now, but wow did they drop the ball on this. I would never ever recommend them to anyone for ~anything~ at all. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN COMING IN HERE, please stay away from JAYCE. He was SO rude to my girlfriend, sister, and I. We were all taken aback but how he came out from the gate being very rude and condescending. I came in looking for a specific color for a suit, knowing that it is a hard color to find. He right away yelled "NO CHANCE" And then proceeded to walk away from us without one single ounce of help. Then as we were trying to ask him what color a certain tie was and he told my girlfriend, "do you not see the color? Yeah that's not it" RUDELY. Then he immediately went to help some gentlemen to help them in the store. We were in shock. I genuinely think he thought we were stupid and not worth our time. I went up to the counter and asked the woman working who the manager is. Michael (the manager) came up and we explained the situation. The boy of course went to the back and I would assumed hid from us because he heard us complaining about him to the manager. Pathetic. Michael apologized and said he would deal with it at their meeting tomorrow. I do believe he should not be working with customers ever. It was clear discrimination. I would like to talk to the OWNER of the store. He should not be around customers, nor women for that matter. Michael helped us after and provided us options, and he was very helpful. The complete opposite of his employee. I really hope there is actual consequences from this though. UPDATE: The comment below by Lauren, honestly feels corporate and disingenuous. This review is based on several visits to this particular location. I had hoped things would different but it was worse. No one helped or acknowledge my existence. I picked my own Jeans to try on while a gentleman in the dressing area helping a customer appeared to be angry and impatient with the customer. I stepped on a pin in the dressing area which went up into my foot. I took it to the cashier to show him, he did not ask if I'm ok, offer to have the manager talk to me or at least offer a bandaid. I needed a suit quickly for an event and had been to a couple other large chain clothing stores and just wasn't getting the feeling of being in the right store. A couple didn't have much of a selection and the others had poor customer service due to COVID and being short-staffed. I decided to take a drive to Mens Warehouse in Escondido. As soon as I walked in I felt like I was in the right place. I was immediately greeted by Lachlan who helped me figure out what size I needed. Unfortunately, the store was out of my size and Lachlan took it upon himself to make some calls to other stores as well as their main factory for availability. Lachlan took my info and I was on my way. The next day I received a call from him saying the suit was no longer available and he pointed me towards another MW store in the town I was traveling to where I did find a suit and with Lachlan's help, I came back to his store for a tailor fitting of my new suit. They set my expectation of when my suit would be ready and just like they said, it was done, even a day early. Needless to say, the suit with great and I was so happy I made to trip to MW. I can't thank Lachlan & Ian for all their time in making my purchase and fitting a truly painless experience. I know where I'm going from now on and I will definitely recommend MW going forward. When my husband and I got married FOUR years ago, he bought a tux from here and as young as we were, we had a very hip idea for a tux for him. To our surprise, the gentleman who helped us here choose a tux for him had a whole different idea. He explained that the groom also needed a look that would set him apart from the wedding invites, much like the bride wears a white dress. To my surprise, we loved his suggestion. This was a very positive experience for us. Bruce took the time to explain fabrics and styles for my partner Mark, and we found exactly what we needed at a price we were happy with. Bruce was extremely knowledgeable, and we never felt any pressure, it was a pleasant experience. 3 days later coming to pick up after alterations Max was very helpful in making sure all was well, making sure we tried on the slacks and took care of some adjustments needed. It was a happy surprise to find a shop that still has a focus on quality workmanship and service. And they have custom suits, so we will be back for this in the near future.
