This Kohr Bros location was a good experience. It is conveniently located near the Atlantic Fun Park on Atlantic Avenue. The ice cream and customer service is good. The store lobby is large enough for large groups, including tourists, and entry is a wide, open air entrance, making ingress and egress quick, easy, and comfortable. Always a good time here. Give them a try.

First time having frozen custard style ice cream and really enjoyed the texture. It's more creamy than frozen yogurt in my opinion. The peanut butter and chocolate was great, definitely would have that again. The strawberry was ok, I would try it with banana if I had it again. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly.

Delish frozen custard. Super fast and friendly service with a few great locations. Biggest issue is maybe a little overpriced if the order is for a larger family. Make it a stop if you're at the oceanfront

10/20/2020: Too heavy for me--tasted more like heavy cream, but flavors were good!

Review #186 - 2020 I've had Kohr Bros bookmarked for quite a while, but we rarely have any room left for dessert whenever my girlfriend and I go out to eat. Luckily, we didn't enjoy our lunch too much so we had room on this particular day. We showed up at around 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 20th, and there was no one else in line since it was a cold, gloomy day at the beach. I went with the chocolate & peanut butter swirl since my 4-year old daughter loves both flavors. The flavors were good, but I don't think I liked the consistency too much because it felt like I was eating heavy cream. My daughter and I shared a cone and we couldn't even finish half of it and my daughter loves ice cream!! My girlfriend went with plain vanilla and she finished hers before we even walked away from the front of the store so maybe hers was better than ours or she's not picky with ice cream consistency. I really wanted to like it, but I guess it just wasn't for me.

As long as I've lived in VA Beach, I can't believe I have ignored this place until this year. I may have visited here 2x last week because the ice cream is sooo good. Nice and creamy, I love mixing the Peanut Butter Icecream with Vanilla, and to top it off like the chubby kid I am, with rainbow sprinkles. The staff is so nice and the ice cream hits the spot every time. If you are feeling real froggy, get your favorite ice cream in a chocolate dipped cone..again with sprinkles and you'll thank me later :)

Always always have to get me some of this amazing ice cream when I'm at the beach! The quality of the custard is perfect. Staff has always been kind and the place is usually kept neat.

I scream, You scream, we all scream for ... frozen custard. That's pretty much how we feel on a humid, Saturday evening along Virginia Beach. I didn't get the history lesson like Marc A., but if you have an extended stay at Virgina Beach, you might as well taste a little bit of history. Kohr's offers a variety of interesting frozen custard flavors (including mint/chocolate swirl or strawberry/banana swirl) or you can stick with the classic vanilla/orange sherbet swirl. I would agree that the frozen custard (not sure how much it differs from soft-serve ice-cream) is alright at best and only slightly better than Dairy Queen. But frozen custard is frozen custard and nobody turns down a frozen treat at 11pm. Bottom Line: Go for it, be a kid, you won't regret it. [Original Visit: September 5, 2009]

There are many ice cream places to chose from on a hot day in Virginia Beach, I will be the first to admit that. Yet I was drawn toward This place, perhaps it was the classic soft serve machines and the easily accessible entry. I was satisfied by this decision the moment I had my first taste. Creamy and flavorful custard...on the level with Culvers! There are a handful of flavors, some swirls, and toppings. I had the mint/chocolate swirl, and another person in my group had peanut butter/chocolate. Refreshing that's for sure!

It is not temporarily closed. It is open and is very good so you should run there and get an ice cream right away

I have a number of points …read more.. First, I needed ice cream!! The homemade kind of ice cream, which is what every ice cream conneisseur deserves. Ice cream is a stress reliever and smile creator so I happily searched out Lolly's even through construction obstructions on the street. Upon arrival I discovered a rather uh ... abandoned looking, worn out potentially closed "shack" a few blocks from the beach. In the dark shadows of the interior sat a young man with a friendly smile. I was really surprised by the minimalist approach to ice cream flavors for an ice cream establishment a few blocks from the beach in a resort town but I wasn't going to leave. The young man recommended the blueberry lemon, which was "the flavor of the week (I think that's what he said.). I was already in STICKER SHOCK because I saw what I was going to pay for a two scoop regular. His smile convinced me ... lemon blueberry and I added coconut almond as scoop number two. Both scoops were packed with their unique flavors with lots of almonds in the coconut almond. The lemon blueberry was very flavorful. Neither was a creamy as I prefer from homemade ice cream but definitely above average. Secondly, I have already made mention of this ... NO TWO SCOOP ICE CREAM should ever cost more than $9 (after taxes) even in a resort area!! OUTRAGEOUS and if I lived locally I'd never be back ... actually living out of town I'll never be back. A good pint of Ben and Jerry's is a better option. With such high priced ice cream you would think that they'd clean up the place but perhaps they consider down and dirty a "beach feel." Yes, I am sure the road construction has impacted them (I asked the smiling young man and he said business is slow in the afternoon but says weekends are busier.) including their ability/interest in keeping up appearances. So, if you are a tourist with some cash or a good credit card status .. you'll find some good ice cream at Lolly's. I enjoyed my once and done treat.

A must stop if you have company visiting. They have a great flavor offering and you can also build your own ice if you'd like. I've been a few times, but recently I took my nieces and they both decided to get the Mug flavor which is not a fruity flavor. It leans towards cinnamon, root beer and coffee flavors and it was surprisingly soooo good. I cannot wait to get that the next time I go. I also recommend their Pitaya in Paradise which has dragonfruit and lime as well.. Honestly, you can't go wrong as long as you pick typical flavors you like. Check them out the next time you have a free day to vibe out. The staff is super sweet and friendly and are willing to answer any questions. They're really patient.
