Nails Spa in Naperville until I realize a different set of nail technicians than the original 2 years ago The quality and service were great, but things have changed. The salon doesn't feel as clean, and I noticed signs of toenail fungus after multiple visits. I also saw tools being reused between customers, which is a major sanitation issue. My last visit was the worst. I asked for no polish and was told the price would be reduced, but they still charged full price and denied ever saying it. I paid **$86.00**, including a small tip, even though the work was rushed, and the gel still looked rough. There's always a different technician who can't communicate clearly, which makes it even more frustrating. I won't be returning. Koi Nail Spa is extremely close to my house so it was very convenient and I am pleased to say that I've found my new place. I've read some pretty horrible past reviews of this place and I believe all those incidents happened under old management. I was actually serviced today by the owner, Tina, and she was incredibly nice and diligent. I just got acrylics with normal polish and they turned out beautifully. The staff overall was very pleasant and nice. Personally, I would recommend. In general, when nail shops like these get busy waits can be longer and different employees can tag team different clients. This is not a super high end up scale spa, so if that's what you're looking for then this isn't it. read more

COVID or NO COVID, a nail spa should wipe down stations between clients... both for manis & pedis! They do not wipe down the surfaces & chairs at either! The arms of the pedi chair were covered in dust that I could feel so I didn't rest my arms there. After my pedi, I was taken to a mani station. They had to move a lady who had just finished getting her nails done that was sitting there letting her nails dry. They didn't wrote the chair and even touch the table to clean it. I sat down. The tech wanted to see my nails. I said, oh, you don't wipe things down between clients? So THEN she moved the 3 leftover polishes and grabbed a little poofy powder dusting brush, & lightly dusted a small section on HER side of the table. There was no clean towel put down. There was nothing put down. There was no disinfecting wipes, no paper towels. I saw the person two spots down from me to my left finish. They sat the next customer in that same spot right away. Not one bit of cleaning again! To my right was a counter height ledge with 2 plants and a fish tank. The ledge had a thick gray later of dust I could see from 4 feet away. The orchid leaf had a streak where the dust was wiped away. I've wanted to try Koi for years, as I'd heard good things about it. NEVER AGAIN. I've never been to a nail spa so blatantly unsanitary. Stay away from this place. Tina did my nails and it was the worst mani I ever had done. I think the ownership has changed here again for the third time in less than a year. It's no wonder. The place was empty and Tina was too busy talking with the other girls to give my nails the attention they required. When leaving she overcharged me and then acted like it was a mistake. I am a long time customer @ KOI but today was my 1st appointment under the new management. They definitely have done some minor remodeling which did spruce up the space. I believe the staff was also newer, I didn't see any of the staff that I'm used to. However the nail tech I had could not have been better. It was the best pedicure I've had in a while. I usually don't get manicures but decided to treat myself today (they're offering a 10% new mgmnt. discount) and glad I did. She paid so much attention and care to my cuticles which I have to admit where is terrible condition. Sometimes "under new management" is not always an improvement, but in this case they kept the atmosphere & great techs just in a nicer environment. When I made my appt for a man's manicure, price was 15$ . When checking out after 17 minutes from start to finish- at checkout she said 18$. I questioned it and she said spa. I guess spa means rubbing my hands with lotion. Cindy never asked me. Before I sat down I told her I want my nails buffed Shiney. She said ok... that never happened, she wanted me in and out. Very unfriendly, extremely dirty business. From windows to dirty towel as I sat down, to stains all over chairs, filthy ring holder, list goes on. Besides the rudeness of making you wait, and wait and wait. Everything is wrong about this place. Made a same day appointment and when I walked in I was met with nothing but dirty looks and attitude. After standing at the counter waiting for ANYONE to greet me a nail tech rudely asked "can I help you??" as if I didn't belong there. When I said I had an appointment she looked at me strangely and then asked if I could wait. Didn't mention how long that wait would be, either. I said ok and she then said I could pick out my nail color. The entire time she had a nasty, condescending tone. After being stared at like a hawk by everyone in the salon I walked out. I've been here twice now, once with the Groupon for the no chip manicure and spa pedicure and then a second time for their special pedicure. So far this is the best quality I've received for both manicure and pedicure! The special pedicure had probably a ten minute massage PER LEG as well as hot towels, several scrubs and lotions, the foot baggies around your heels, and a (actually very good) neck/shoulder massage at the end. I've never had such a high quality and extensive pedicure in my life. Furthermore, the no chip manicure was fantastic. They shaped my nails nicely, all the edges of my nails were painted (sometimes people don't get it all the way to the edge), and they had so many colors and shades for no chip I honestly was quite overwhelmed. I recommended this place to a friend and when she went she said it was also the best place she had been to, after trying many salons. Overall would highly recommend. Just wanted to say, I'm pretty bummed with the results. The lady didnt even cut off the little sides of my nail and were sticking out in the end. The nail polish looked like it was spilling out of the edges and even got some on the side of my skin! Friendly staff, very clean shop, and also sanitary. They have too many dip powder colors to count, with polish to match if you want your toes the same color. They also have tons of no chip and regular polish options. Prices are extremely competitive for the area, and the girl that did my full set today did an amazing job on them. She also offered a dip manicure instead of a full set since my natural nails were long and strong to begin with, although I still opted for my acrylics with tips.
