Where do I even begin? Koi Revolving Sushi checked every single box--from incredibly fresh, flavorful sushi to exceptional hospitality and a fun, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. This is absolutely a spot you need to experience for yourself. We kicked off our meal with the Blueberry Marble Soda and the Mango Passionfruit drink, and both were bursting with flavor. They were refreshing, unique, and so much fun to sip on throughout our meal. To start, we enjoyed a salad, soup, and egg rolls. The egg rolls were perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and the ideal way to begin. With so many options on the menu, there's truly something for everyone. We also had to try one of their specialties--the Salmon Hibachi. The salmon was perfectly cooked, paired with seasoned rice and fresh vegetables, and topped with the perfect amount of yum yum sauce. Every bite was delicious. The sushi completely exceeded our expectations. The Crab-Goon Roll was phenomenal, and every plate we grabbed from the revolving belt tasted incredibly fresh. Even something as classic as the California Roll stood out--it was simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The revolving sushi experience itself was such a highlight. The color-coded plates make it easy to know the price of each selection while adding a fun pop of color to the display. Watching sushi continuously glide by your table is entertaining on its own, and when you order from the tablet, your food zooms directly to your table on the upper track--such a fun experience to watch! Before leaving, we couldn't resist grabbing a few of their Pop-Up Sushi tubes to go. I was genuinely geeking out over these! They're adorable, convenient, and perfect for enjoying sushi on the go. They even include soy sauce inside the tube, making it easy to enjoy wherever you are. It's easy to see why these are trending. What truly made our visit memorable, though, was the hospitality. Daniel took the time to walk us through the menu, explain the specialties, answer our questions, and made the entire experience even more enjoyable. While ordering from the tablet is quick and convenient, his genuine interactions made all the difference. We can't wait to come back and will absolutely be recommending Koi Revolving Sushi to our family and friends. A true 10/10 experience! read more

The bill can add up quick! We stopped into Koi recently for lunch. It's a new addition to the Southside in the same plaza as Vasa Fitness. You're greeted and seated right as you enter. They explain how the menu works and how you open the containers on the revolving bar. My first thought while looking at the menu and the revolving bar prices was, wow this is going to add up quick! I'm glad we weren't too hungry because the bill ended up being $85+ and I feel like we didn't order that much. We split a hibachi chicken and steak entree. That came with soup and a salad. Ordered a spicy tuna, spicy salmon, house special roll, and the crab Rangoon roll. The food was great! The crab Rangoon roll was my favorite. Hibachi was good. I think if you have the expectation of spending some coins here, you will enjoy it. Personally, I would rather go to Sushi Club and pay a set price for All You Can Eat. read more

I was so excited seeing that Franklin Township was going to get a revolving sushi restaurant! I have seen them several times in different cities on TikTok and thought it would be super cool to dine at one here. First things first the staff is great and really helpful and explaining how things work. Everything was super clean and every single table in the restaurant does sit by the conveyor belt. The wheel works is that there will be a sign saying what is coming behind it and then the dishes behind that are that item. So for example, you might see a sign saying spicy crab roll and then three dishes behind it have spicy crab roll and then another sign comes that says shrimp roll and there will be three shrimp rolls behind that and so on. In addition to plucking things off of the conveyor belt, as they come, you can also special order items to your table, and they will come directly to you on the upper conveyor belt. Things like hibachi, appetizers, soups I'll come directly to you from your waiter. I had a lot of fun with the experience in seeing all of the different kinds of sushi come around. They also give you a menu that explains what is in each type of sushi so that you're not just grabbing something that you don't know what's in it. The food was mostly good but could use a little adjusting here and there. The vegetables on the hibachi and the rice weren't cooked very well. They were still edible, but they could've used a few more minutes cooking. They also put fish roe on the California sushi roll and that ruined it for me. I would not recommend the calamari. It tasted like it was purchased frozen from GFS food. It was stringy and slimy and did not have a good taste. Everything else is pretty good and tasted fresh and flavorful. I got a chance to visit during their soft open and if they can maintain this level of quality and freshness-they're going to be around for a while. Everything was delicious. Made reservations for dinner to check out Koi. We were so excited, but our experience was very disappointing. Revolving sushi is non existent here! The sushi belt was moving empty containers around. Other people around our table were complaining about the non existent sushi on the belt. Now you can order sushi off the menu, but that's not the point. My hibachi chicken dinner came with miso soup and a salad. The miso soup was disgusting! It tasted like fish broth, so gross! I couldn't eat mine and my husband also thought it was nasty. They had a bunch of employees working, so we didn't understand the lack of sushi. Oh yeah, they advised alcoholic beverages, but didn't have any booze when we were there! Excellent experience here at the brand new Koi Revolving Sushi. The restaurant is beautiful, and the decor is unique. A very nice ambiance. Service was perfect. My server Michael did an excellent job, especially considering that today was the first day the restaurant was open. He was knowledgeable about the menu and explained the "train" process well. The menu is extensive, and prices for the sushi on the train are clearly marked. I ordered the spicy krab salad and the speciality krab goon roll. This is such a fun way to get sushi in Indianapolis! I loved the revolving sushi and getting to grab a plate. Our waiter Daniel did a great job explaining how to order from the table or how to get plates that are rotating around. He even brought a practice lid for us to try! Each plate is a different color for a certain price. I like that you can order any kind of sushi to your table too and it gets sent out directly to your table on the belt too! I also liked that most of the sushi was in 4 pieces so we could try lots of different kinds. There is hibachi and noodles for non sushi lovers. Went for lunch and was excited to try out a revolving sushi establishment! The menu is somewhat complicated we did not know where to begin or how to order. Most of the "revolving sushi" were empty trays, very few options to select from. Felt the "revolving" part of the experience was mostly a gimmick. Ordered calamari and egg rolls, the calamari was all mostly uniform and looked like onion rings from Burger King, the egg rolls were basic as well. I've dined out at a lot of places and I don't think I've ever had an experience this bad. AMBIANCE When you first step in, the ambience seems promising, but as soon as you sit down all hope goes out the window. The music was very odd. It was the type of music you hear in a cinematic drama when someone dies. Also, there were zero sushi plates on the conveyer belt, which is wild considering this is a revolving sushi restaurant. SERVICE Our server seemed like he never waited on a table in his life. He moved super slow, got our drinks mixed up, and he wasn't knowledgeable about the menu (he asked me to spell "unagi"). We waited about 45 minutes for our 3 orders of nigiri and waited another 15 for our three rolls. I saw three people in the kitchen and the restaurant only had a few tables occupied. FOOD Then there's the food (if you even wanna call it that). The beef tataki slices were so thick and terribly chewy. One piece took a good minute or two to chew on, we didn't finish it. The calamari was definitely previously frozen and probably bought from the Kroger across the street. At first I thought they accidentally brought out onion rings, then I bit into them and it was like chewing on a breaded rubber band - also didn't finish them. The sushi was even more of a letdown! There was a weird bitter taste to their rice and the tempura in the rolls were soggy and old - didn't finish these either. At the end of it all, the server checked us out on his tablet, I gave him my card but then he gave my card to my friend and had my friend sign for me. Overall, this was one of the worst (if not THE WORST) experiences at a restaurant. If you're looking for sushi, you're better off getting it from Kroger. read more
