Meet the Business Owner: Larry B.
Starting here in 1975 after being a VW/Porsche mechanic, I became the "head wrench" after attending the Schwinn Service School.
In 1984 when the original owner retired, I became the manager of the store as it was bought by another Schwinn shop owner in another city.
I bought the store in 2005 when he retired to once again make the store "locally owned".
I have designed and hand built custom frames. I was a liscenced USCF racer & official. As a racer, I raced both road & track. As an official I was the chief official at the Major Taylor Velodrome, officialed at criteriums and worked the Pan Am games on both road & track events.
I am a founding member of the Break Away Bicycle club. I have served as Ride Leader, Race Director, President and Club Secretary.
I organized, ran (and even won once) the Haynes Apperson Criterium bike race. I now organize and run the Sunstroke 74 bike ride for the Haynes Apperson Festival every year.
Bicycling is my life.
