Pretty good! Been coming here a few times now to try different flavors and I've enjoyed it. What I've gotten: -Mango: Mango was good. Some pieces were riper than others, leading to slight difference in texture. -Strawberry: Strawberries were fairly tart. Good balance between the sweeter but mild coconut pudding. -Peach Gum: Good flavor and well balanced. At times, it tasted a bit like those small chinese apples. Only thing is, if you aren't a fan of goopy and viscous texture, this might be strange for you. -Matcha Red Bean: This one doesn't have the plain white coconut pudding layer. Instead, it's red bean on the bottom, and matcha coconut pudding on top. Matcha was light and red bean provided some texture. Not bad but not as memorable as the others I think. The texture is most like a very soft tofu, slightly jiggly but not as much as Melo Melo in my opinion. Both have their own good aspects. I did like that Kokonut includes some crunchy toasted coconut flakes for added texture and flavor to the experience. Packaging is nice. Spoons included. The shop and parking: The first time I came here during covid, customers were not allowed inside, but you are now allowed to walk in to the front of their kitchen. They are located in an unassuming, industrial area within a shared building with various kitchens from other businesses; they have a wall outside with the names posted of each. The last time I arrived, my friend and I walked to the counter with a menu posted. A lady came out explaining the promotion they were running (they have these sometimes so check their IG!) and then we were able to place our order and pay through an iPad. We waited about 5 minutes for them to prep and package everything. It was a quick experience despite it being crowded. There were no tables inside from what we saw but some customers were enjoying their desserts out front. Parking has never been an issue for me. Overall: Refreshing desserts. I love the coconut-fruit pudding dessert trend! I tried Kokonut after trying Melo Melo in Ktown and found the textures of the puddings to be completely different. Kokonut's pudding is most similar to soft tofu or jello pudding while Melo Melo is most like Hawaiian haupia filling (slightly grainy, w/o the gelatin texture). I prefer Melo Melo, but that's just a personal preference. The service here, however, was fantastic. I sampled ALL the flavors before purchasing and the mango was cut fresh for my order (and presumably for every order). Parking is super easy in the complex. Came here with friends while on vacation here and we really wanted to come and try it since it was unique and we don't have something like this where we are from. The desert bar is inside a building so it may be confusing at first but outside there is a sign and the moment you enter you can see the menu. There is also a good amount of parking so you don't have to worry about stressing to find a parking spot. We want to thank Suzanne who was so kind and brought out a sampler of all of the flavors and explained it all to us. She was so sweet ! So 5/5 for service ! The interesting: I've tried other coconut jelly places and this one is less sweet compared to the others. This is a plus for me but it can be negative for others.
