    Mango madness

After going to a show at the orange coast college planetarium we went to grab dessert at Heybings. Ordered at the counter, found a table and waited for our pager to light up and vibrate to let us know that it was time to pick up our orders. The restaurant was well lit and clean, music playing from the front of the seating area. The desserts were good, prices were reasonable, and everything was made to order. We would return.

3.5 overall. If you are only eating the shaved ice, it is pretty good and flavored with more than just milk. However, I don't like how they come with ice cream and the mochi is pretty small/not fresh and chewy. Also, I love red beans and theirs is not nearly as good as Sul & Beans (soft, tender and good mouthfeel). The individual portions are kinda pricey for very little shaved ice and more fruit/topping. I guess it's up to personal preference on your ratios but I definitely prefer Sul & Beans.

I love a good bingsu, and I'd say this one was above average. Some bingsu tend to be very watery, but this one including the base was super flavorful. We tried the seasonal melon lime, and the tanginess of the citrus paired with the milky sweetness and creamy melon was the perfect refreshing treat to enjoy after a hot summer day. It's a little far, but was definitely worth the treck.

We were visiting my boyfriends cousin and we wanted to have some dessert so we tried this place since we like bingsu. The restaurant was pretty busy when we got there. Once you enter there are kiosk you can order from. It's a pretty spacious dessert restaurant but you they can fill up pretty fast. We order the mango, cookies and creme and classic. We also ordered a side of rice balls. Our order came out fairy fast. What I like about this bingsu is their portion is perfect for singe serving. It doesn't melt fast and the ice itself is also flavored not just pure milk. Each one we ordered we finished it was that good. I highly recommend this place. They also have other desserts you can choose from.

A great spot for something refreshing. Overall their flavor selection was not super big, but they had and interesting seasonal flavor, grape jasmine! In addition to their bingsoo options they had mochi waffles and drinks. I wish for the bingsoo there was a size in between their regular and large. I got the large and it was a lot for one person. The jasmine portion was a jasmine jelly insert hidden inside. The ice cream on top actually tasted like lime and then they had fresh grapes and grape shave ice. I thought the ube mochi waffle was a nice item to have with it, it rounded out all the zesty refreshing notes, and gave me something warm and mellow in favor to balance it. It could have had a more ubi forward flavor though. They have seating inside I sat closer to the door because further in I was smelling a burning plastic smell. Maybe it's the machine shaving ice starting to ask for a break from how busy they are. Everyone was nice, they did have a mix up with my order and ended up taking a pretty long time to get me my bingsoo which was a bit of a bummer since my waffle started getting cold. I get when you are that busy stuff happens though.

The bingsoo and waffle was not bad. It is pricer compared to other places. There is some seating indoor, and also outdoor. It is a busy spot so it depends if the tables are open. The wait was not bad.

I really wish Heybings had more locations outside of Orange County! I used to be an Oakobing girl, but this might officially be my new favorite spot. The shaved ice here is unbelievably soft, infused with condensed milk, and absolutely delicious. We shared the Mango Paradise, which came with mango purée, fresh mango, and vanilla ice cream and it was so good. My husband usually avoids dessert for health reasons, but even he made an exception and happily shared both the shaved ice and the chewy ube mochi waffle with me. Yum! I was honestly still so full from lunch that I couldn't finish my corn latte, but it actually tasted super refreshing the next day after sitting in the fridge overnight. I'm definitely coming back to try more flavors. And I'm bringing my pup so she can get a Woofaccino too!

Hyped by a friend and I understand why. ** Mochi waffle - first time to try one. (not a fan of mochi, sticky food) BUT THIS ONE IS SO GOOD. MUST ORDER!!! It's freshly made to order. Toasted on the outside and soft on the inside. I'm coming back for this. ** Mango Bingsu - Smooth untextured ice, check! I don't like vanilla but the the generous amount of mangoes, the syrup did not taste fake, and it was just not toppings but also sandwiched in the middle. In every bite you can take, you get everything until your last scoop. Dog friendly place!!! Servers were so nice. Spacious place to stufy and have a doggy date!! I'm coming back for more and an excuse to go with my dog.

Mmmm tried the seasonal jasmine green grape, it was a 10!! It's so refreshing and so good. The lemon sorbet, the grape puree, and the jasmine tea jello created a perfect harmonic palette for my mouth. Also got the sesame peanut mochi waffles. Though the texture was good, it was somewhat bland. It needed some type of liquid drizzle to enhance the overall flavor/effect.

Checked out Heybings for the first time and I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we had to get it to go so I wasn't able to enjoy it on the spot. However, it was still enjoyable. There's plenty of seating and it was nice and bright. I chose the strawberry cheesecake and my friend chose the melon lime. I personally enjoyed the chunks of the cheesecake. I can't wait to visit again to try the other flavors!

Desserts after dinner is essential. There are very few places that were open late, and luckily we found this gem. Parking: There's a large parking lot, but since it was a weekend, finding a spot was difficult. Ambiance/Environment: We visited around 21:00, and it was poppin. All the indoor and outdoor seats were full. We had to wait for an open table. The tables and chairs can use a cleaning from the leftover crumbs. It's a fun dessert spot to bring friends & family for a late night sweet treat. Service: There's a self-ordering kiosk or you can order at the register. We ordered at the register. The cashier was simply quick and efficient. I will say throughput took a bit long bc of the high foot traffic and considering they make everything fresh. Desserts: We each shared two Ube Mochi Waffles and a single Choco Oreo. The waffles were lightly chewy from the mochi, and the ube flavor was subtle. They weren't overly sweet. The Choco Oreo is a cookies n cream flavored infused ice. It tasted exactly as described. The crumbs gave it a nice texture, and the ice cream on top made it creamier. It wasn't overly sweet either. Pricing: Somewhat expensive for waffles and ice cream. It's okay to treat yourself occasionally. We enjoyed our desserts. We didn't get any drinks, so we'll have to comeback to try them.

A lovely dessert place with so many varieties of flavors. The interior was very cute and clean. The service was great as well. I'm surprised I haven't been here before since I'm a frequent visitor of Sul and Beans but this place is so much less crowded for the same great quality of bingsoo. Additionally, if you don't want to share they have an individual size vs and shareable size! That's great news to me because I don't love sharing bingsoo but also know I can't finish a large one. Will come again!!

    Tiffany T.

Came here randomly and it was so much better than I thought. The bingsoo is seriously soft and the flavors are strong which is nice. We also got the mochi waffle and loved it! The texture is so unique. Adding this to my dessert rotation!

They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.
