Was exploring the mall and happened across this place. It was my mom's birthday, and she's a lifelong cat lover, so asked if we could get in, and we could, so 20 bucks for a 40 minute session per person. The employees were really sweet and clearly cared a lot about the cats, explained everything to us, and they seem to make a real effort to keep the cats from undue stress. Don't grab them, don't yell or jump around, take your shoes off, etc. First time in a cat cafe and it was a really cool experience. My mom naturally immediately gravitated towards the spicy ones with a red collar while I found that just by sitting still, when time was called, a reticent gray cat had curled deeply into my lap. The money goes to support the cats (and the space and employees of course), and the cats are adoptable. Very positive experience, and one I'll do again if I'm in Tangram. read more

If you like cats, you will love this place. Adopt a cat! Came here with my little niece who got so happy and excited to come here! She has family members who are allergic to cats, so coming here is the next best thing. It's best to reserve online to make sure the time you want to go is available. Admission is $20 for 40 minutes. You can also do walk-in if they have spots available. They limit the number of people who can enter at every hour. Get there early, for time to sign a waiver, and go over rules. Shoes must be removed... So make sure your socks don't have holes in them. The lobby has benches, coat hooks and shoe cubby holes for your possessions. All cats are available for adoption! Right now, they have 11 fuzzy kitties to play with, but all may not be available for playing. They may be sleeping or otherwise occupied. All the workers here are nice and helpful. The interior is Japanese inspired, with cat trees, shelves and pillows everywhere. One con is this place would be even better if there were more cats available to play with. They seem to work with one cat rescue team. There are plenty of other worthy cat rescues organizations out who would be more than happy to bring over more cats. I know some if needed. The second time we came here, it felt like there were more people then there were cats available. Maybe some were hiding? My niece had to wait around before being able to play with a kitty. At 3:20PM - 4:00PM, they are closed in order to clean and feed the cats. You can watch this happening from the outside windows. Don't knock on the windows, offending them. Located in Tangram Mall, Kokoro Cat Cafe has adoptable cats that you can interact with. The cost is about $20 for a time limit of 40 minutes Make sure you come on time as they are strict with the timing of each session. If the session is not full, they also allow walk-ins. In the waiting area, they ask that you take your shoes off and you sign a waiver. Inside, the space is pretty spacious with plenty of room for the cats and people to move around. It was also very clean. If you leave a Google review, they give you freeze-dried treats that you can give to the cats. Depending on the time of day, the cats may be active or napping but once they know you have treats in your hand, they'll approach you very quickly. There is also plenty of toys that you can use to interact with the cats. I personally think there's a big ratio between the amount of people that are let in and the amount of people they allow per session. Other than that, I had a positive experience. I LOVED THIS PLACE. I spotted this place in Tangram Mall when I was visiting my family in Flushing and I immediately made an appointment with my dad to play with some cats. It's ~$20 for 40 minutes and we did the +$9 add on which included a drink, a cat popsicle (worth it! The cats will fight over it), an instant photo of you and the cat(s), and a BOGO coupon for next time. Considering the cats can be picky and moody (because they are cats), the cat popsicle will bring most of them to you! A perfect place for cat lovers. read more

Nice cat cafe that is clean and minimalistic in design. It's reasonably priced for a cat cafe and there were around 9-10 kitties when I went. However I did not like their extra surcharge to feed the kitties an extra treat- it was 9 dollars- consisted of a little Polaroid pic taken while you are feeding a kitty- a tiny frozen snack and a Japanese drink. When I went they Ran out of Japanese drinks and would not replenish for 10 days. So they could only offer me a bottled water. I felt like it would not have been too much issue for them to refill their drinks as it was common stuff like the Japanese green tea bottles- why does it take 10 days to replace- just go to the supermarket down the block. . I just felt like this was lazy and is not an equivalent value for their feeding package. The feeding package should have been slightly discounted or at least give a beverage that is similar in value instead of generic bottle water. Also the treat they gave us barely had any kitty snack in it- it was mostly ice so the cats weren't interested in it for long and it was so messy. It would have been easier if they had given everyone a churro snack. It's the nicer of the cat cafes in queens but it could be better. read more

I understand that this may be a sort of "luck of the draw" situation for whether the cats are awake or not, but I saw a total of 4 cats. Most stayed out of the reach of people, and those that walked by didn't want to be touched. I get it, cats can be moody, but I didn't expect a place calling itself a "cat cafe" and charging over $20 for admission would only have 4 cats that don't seem to like being around people. You can see more cats at your local bodega. I took my 6 year old her who had been dying to go since we've agreed to get a cat, halfway through she asked if we could leave as the cats were not friendly, and really weren't anywhere where you could even see most of them. As we left I complained about how there were only 4 cats in there and even my 6 year old wanted to leave. I thought I may be offered a raincheck, or maybe a refund, but I was told I should leave a review as the owner would read it. They also reached out to the owner about a refund, and they said no. To the owner: you have a pretty sweet scam going here. I'm sure you get the cats for free, charge people to feed them, and are making hundreds of dollars every 40 minutes and don't have to provide any value or actual experience. Did you start with a flea circus? We will be visiting rescues and shelters from here on out. They don't have the audacity to charge you for wanting to see adoptable cats and actually do some good around cat and adoption advocacy. read more

I was the first to visit this morning at 11:20am. I wanted to address the cats being sedated/drugged to reduce activity.... clearly you don't know a thing or two about cats, as they typically sleep most of the day. If you want to make a serious accusation like that then provide proof. The audacity to complain about the cats not jumping and fetching at your command is absolutely preposterous, this isn't a clown show, yes customers...IM TALKING ABOUT YOU! To the staff, Thank you for all your hard work, the environment is very peaceful, positive and relaxing for the cats. The staff answered all of my questions, and they were very kind and professional. Clean area and plenty of time to play with the cats! I played with at least two cats and gained interest in adopting, I will be scheduling a 2nd appointment and hoping to decide on 2 cats to take home. I'm looking forward to the 2nd visit! read more

Good experience. Girls that work there were friendly. The cats were cool. Most of them were sleepy which I didn't mind. Only thing that would have made this experience way better is limiting the amount of people. There are only like 6 active cats moving rest are sleeping and like 20 people in the room which means kinda hard to spend personal time with the cats. As not enough of them. Another note is the black cat and the one in this photo were aggressive. I got bit by the black one which hurt , luckily the worker said they don't have diseases so should be fine. I can't believe I'm the first person to review this place lol I made a reservation on a Saturday around noon and although the mall itself was packed, inside the cafe, it wasn't that packed thankfully. We got there a bit early as they recommended us to check in to make sure we signed the waivers and go over the rules. We had to take off our shoes in the lobby area and after going over some basic rules, we had to sanitize our hands. Upon entering the cat paradise, I noticed it was very clean and spacious and all the cats looked very healthy and comfortable as a lot of them had no issues sleepy soundly around everyone. They had such soft and shiny looking fur, I had a hard time resisting the urge to touch them. At first I had a hard time getting any of them to come to me, but once I had a toy they liked, they started to play with me. I had so much fun that I didn't realize how quickly 40 mins had passed. I think during my time slot there were 2-3 groups besides mine, which was great because it gave everyone enough space to play with the cats and gave the cats enough space in case they felt uncomfortable around a crowd. For around $21, I think this was a great experience. I actually liked this cat cafe much more than the one I went to in Manhattan and it's nearby too. I hope to come again soon since the cats were so cute and lovely. read more

Great experience, warm and welcoming environment for guest and the kitties. We were given the opportunity to feed the kitties with the premium package (Gary the cat loved - ate 3 sticks) and it included a photo with the cat and a buy 1 get 1 free ticket for next time. The anxious cats wore a red collar so we knew which ones to avoid or approach with caution. Toys were provided for us to entertain them and they were just fed and ready for some soft petting. We would recommend coming here again, enjoy the cafe and then step out into the tangram mall for more fun filled activities like regal movie theater, food court and more. read more

Cute concept. Nice folks working here. I'm not sure it was worth the $ to play with cats though. We spent $10 on a cat lollipop and a photograph and beverage - I asked if we could trade the beverage for an extra Polaroid instead and they politely declined which is fine but after spending $100 here you think they'd let us get a Polaroid for each girl rather than buying another $10 package just to get an extra picture so they could each have a photo on their own. i've been to many cat cafes in nyc, but in terms of ambience, customer service, and cats, this place is by far my favorite. the interior looks amazing, and the cats are so adorable. i def recommend going before lunchtime, as they are more active. the people who work here clearly love the cats, and it's so great to see establishments like this take in sheltered cats to look for a home. definitely recommend!! read more

i've left a review before but i guess they got it taken down. i loved this place. great place for adoption and just to play with cats. i took my friend here about a year ago and while we were inside playing with the cats someone stole her bag. first off they have nowhere secure to put your bag so you're basically just leaving your bag anywhere. then her bag got stolen. They didn't really try much to help get the bag back. and the best part about it is that their security cameras that they had were not even facing the door so you couldn't even see the person walk in steal her bag and then walk out the place is pretty small for him to be paying attention to his surroundings was crazy again the cats are great. They have nothing to do with this but they need better security there. read more
