I've been here a few times, and the kolaches are usually great. However, I was disappointed with my experience today. It's a bit concerning that the food is reheated in the microwave, and communication at the front counter can sometimes be difficult due to how hard it is to understand the staff member taking orders. This morning, my food was still cold even after I watched it being microwaved. Unfortunately, biting into a cold kolache first thing in the morning was not a great start to the day. I used the drive thru and was pleased to have no trouble whatsoever understanding the voice in the speaker. He was polite and enunciated quite well. I ordered many kolaches and requested for them to be warm. It didn't take long for my order to be ready. The bread was absolutely delicious and I was surprised by their size. Worst kolaches I ever had. Whoever made these today made them with absolutely no love or care. I won't ever be returning to this location. Made an early morning kolaches run while I was in town visiting. The quality and service were great. Really hit the spot.

We just moved here from Katy and the Kolache Factory was our go to spot so we were excited to find one so close to our new house. Went at 9:00 on Sunday morning and the drive thru and like inside were pretty long. The lady in front of us orders a bacon, egg, and cheese and they told her it would be 30 minutes. Yikes! We ordered our usual- sausage and gravy. They were not cooked all the way and very doughy in the middle. Super disappointed since we have had amazing experience at Kolache Factory in Katy. 1/16- tried them out again and instead of being raw like last time there was basically nothing in them. Went through the drive thru in the morning on Saturday, July 29th. You would think that the more popular items wouldn't be sold out by 8:30am in the morning. No Polish sausage kolaches and no croissants of any variety. I settled for a cinnamon twist and it was dried out and stale. Very disappointing for my first visit. read more

I enjoy the baked creations from this place! One of their newest locations in Magnolia/1488 is new, clean and has plenty of staff in the mornings ready to assist. Me likie! My only criticism about this location is the air freshener they use to make this place fragrant and airy. Not sure if its intended to cover any of the fresh coat paint smell from recent construction? But if it isn't, TOSS IT! YOU DO NOT NEED IT! Your bakery should be filled with different aromas of baked breads, sugary jellies, vanilla, etc. The artificial, dare i say "floral" scent is such a contradiction to your establishment that when I walk in, I am hit with the pungent odor, which only makes me want to run to the counter, place my order and get the heck out! In all my trips there, I have only seen 1 person actually sitting at one of the tables/booths. Perhaps change up the seating area, add a bit more decor to make it feel "homey" and "inviting." Someone should speak to the Landlord overseeing this strip center about having designated "smoking" areas, I see customers (not just this store front) all along the strip, standing outside smoking and then flicking their butts on the ground. It's a sad sight to see such a new building littered with cigarette butts on their new sidewalks. read more

I have been to this location during its busiest times and slower time, the Ladies that work there are very polite and friendly even when they are very very busy! They are very knowledgeable and very helpful in making suggestions on different flavors of Kolaches The espresso bar is to die for! Puts Star Bucks to shame in my opinion! I want to love this place, but after three visits I won't be returning. I feel like they've had enough time to work the out the kinks. I've visited early am, mid-morning, and later in the day and I feel like they have been in business long enough to figure out how not to always be out of their biggest sellers. I've only been to this newly-opened location (FM 1488) twice and was served by different people on each visit. In each instance, I felt like I was a complete bother and inconvenience to them. Neither employee greeted me, neither had much to say, certainly didn't get a smile even though I tried to give both a reason to and neither thanked me for the business. It was as if they were wishing I was anywhere but there - or maybe they wished THEY were anywhere but there. In any event, I read in a Community Impact magazine article on the owners and learned this store is a retirement venture after their careers in the volatile oil industry and they hope to open several more stores around the area. For their sake, I hope they find at least one friendly person to hire at one of their stores because working for a company in the volatile oil industry is more secure than owning a business that makes their customers feel unappreciated. I gave one more star than I started to give because the sausage and gravy kolache is so awesome! read more
