First time in Texas, first time eating kolaches. Didn't really know where to go - so my group & I came upon this place by suggestion of some colleagues in Los Angeles. Came a bit late so some items I wanted to try were out. I opted for the Philly Steak, Bacon Egg & Cheese, and Dulce De Leche. All of the items still seemed really fresh even though it was closer to closing time. Bacon Egg & Cheese was my least favorite - seemed a bit bland. The Dulce De Leche tasted okay also - a bit plain. My favorite of the 3 was the Philly Steak. I was also able to grab bites of the Jalapeño Popper which was delicious! Dining area has ample seating & is fairly clean. Service was good. I would like to try other places that serve kolaches before I can give a final review on this place. Overall, not a bad experience - might stop by again if I'm ever in Plano. read more

Ok my first time here. I was very excited after seeing the reviews on yelp. I opted to try the flavor of the month. The Denver omlete. The bread has a nice chew and the kolache was certainly packed full of Denver omlete goodness. Perhaps I missed the part of warm your own. Hmm I ate a few bites like I said it was full of yummy ingredients but cold eggs are not my thing. So I moved onto my second choice the apricot. I had the idea that I'd go savory then sweet. Again the bread was a great consistency nice chewy texture but the apricot tasted like it came straight from a can. It was thick and almost like it had been globbed on after the kolache baked, there was no crystization of the sugar on top to give it that crackle. So while they will do in a pinch they are not the Chech bakery in West. read more

I bought all the sausage, egg and cheese Kolaches they had (unfortunately only 8) just before the Covid-19 epidemic started getting bad in our area. I absolutely love these Kolaches and I froze them when I got home that day and just take one out in the morning and pop it in the microwave for 2 minutes. What an awesome way to start the day. I brought 6 people here to eat breakfast and they were completely out of Texas hot and polish hot two menu items that are very popular. They are what I come here for and it was so disappointing that they were out and the employees didn't care very much about it. This place has become my morning addiction. Not only is the food delicious, but the customer service is amazing. (It also does not help that Kolache Factory is on my way to work) I have come through the drive through and sat inside, and all experiences have never disappointed. GLORIA has been the sweetest and most amazing person who works there! She was caring and extremely inviting my first time there. (And I am one of those annoying people who tends to ask a lot of questions my first time at places.) Every time I go back she is there smiling and helpful. Definitely one of the reasons I go back! Now, when it comes to the food, I love almost all the kolaches. My favorite is the jalapeno popper. Then I always love the sausage and gravy or the philly cheesesteak one. One that is really good, but can be a hit or miss on flavor would be the potatoes, eggs, and cheese one. (it is good but sometimes this one is missing the kick of flavor). To be honest I didn't know what to expect coming here. The last kolache I had and most of the kolaches I've ever had quite frankly, have been of the frozen and bake variety. So I hoped that I was going to be in for a real treat. But in all honesty what I got blew my mind and my expectations away. Far away. I ordered 2 dozen kolaches (with one of those 1 of each type of deals) for a party this morning, as well as a ham and cheese croissant for me. First off, the order was very hot and fresh and soft. The ham and cheese croissant was basically a stuffed croissant and the pastry on the outside was very flaky and delicious. There was a lot of ham and cheese on the inside which I was happy about. The kolaches were equally as delicious, with rich flavors of the filling and, although I haven't tried it yet, I feel that these kolaches would still be fine warmed a second time tomorrow for another meal or snack because the filling is so moist and will probably keep the kolache moist for a few times in the microwave. Overall, this place is a winner. Hopefully every visit in the future will be like this first one and it will be just as mind blowing and tasty as my first time here. The BBQ kolache is the best one!! The brisket inside is sweet and satisfying! The bread is soft. They have tons of other kolaches that I plan on trying on the near future but the BBQ is honestly too delicious for me to venture out just yet. Being 1/4 Czech, I have pretty high standards for Kolaches. Sorry, but a sausage roll is not a Kolache. So I was super excited to find a place this close that has the real thing. They have a great selection, their store is clean, and the employees are really nice. However, when it comes down to rating a restaurant, food is the deciding factor, and while they have my favorite flavors, poppyseed and apricot, it wasn't quite up to my standards. I never thought I could become overwhelmed by kolache options but that's how I felt during my first visit to Kolache Factory. They offer at least 20 or more options ranging from jalapeño, eggs and potato, bacon and egg just to name a few. The employees at the counter were very nice and patient as I went back and forth undecidedly trying to figure out what I wanted. I ultimately bought three different flavors and really like one of the three (personal taste preference not because they weren't prepared properly). My overall opinion is that their kolaches are good and the service is good but I wish they didn't offer so many choices all at once. Maybe have a few standard flavors and then one or two flavors or the week or something. Then again maybe I'm just too indecisive. Came here today to meet up with a couple of friends for breakfast. They weren't too busy. Lots of people getting food to go...maybe to serve mom in bed...since its Mother's Day! We came in and ordered about 4 different kinds, two of each, along with a coffee and a smoothie. Noticed they have this SpotOn card and signed up for that. ( every time you visit you earn points for free stuff ) so we paid and he boxed up our food and we sat down. He was supposed to make our drinks but got a little side tracked with another customer. Since we weren't in a hurry we waited til he was done and reminded him nicely about our drinks. He apologized and made them asap. He gave us sticky buns for having to wait because he had forgotten. No worries, we got our drinks. Met up with friends talked a bit and headed out with left overs for a quick breakfast tomorrow. Good visit with good food and service. I used the restroom while we were there,it's clean, but the toilet is a little tricky gotta flush a couple of times to get toilet paper down...lol...thank goodness it was a number one and not a number two bahahaha!! read more

When they first opened I went there everyday on the way to work. I found myself saying later and often I wish I had been given napkins or I wish they had not heated them to lava hot or till they became rock like bricks. The last time I was given incorrect change and had to park and wait in a mass of people while I explained that I was shorted $5 as a patron lovingly shouted he would hit my car for parking by the door. I then opend the bag of promised goodness to find they were not heated at all. Maybe I expect too much. I will keep going but will continue to lower my expectations and not look forward to my morning pit stop. read more
