We originally stopped by Kolombia Café just for a coffee and a snack, but after checking out the menu, we ended up ordering a bunch more--and I'm so glad we did! I had a lavender latte that was absolutely delicious, along with a refreshing lavender lemonade. The arepa with the garlic sauce was extra tasty, and the two arepa sandwiches we ordered were healthy, filling, and so good we had to take them to go. You can sit inside or outside which I love! I went ahead and ordered the turkey egg and cheese croissant for lunch which was tasty and came with a side of plantain chips. I ordered the dulce de leche cold brew (photoed), which is meant for a real caramel and sugar lover... I'll be honest I was not prepared for how much caramel syrup is involved. If you're looking for fully authentic "Real Colombian" dishes, then this is not the place for you. If a chic uptown deli married a quiet Colombian bakery, this place would be the product of that fusion. Neo-Colombian-American is what I would call it, and definitely way more American than Latin. For example; my cafe con leche came in a cute floral ceramic cup like you'd expect at any Colombian spot, but the actual coffee lacked the punch of a real Colombian coffee bean or brewing style. I had a reina arepa (Reinas are usually associated with Venezuela not Colombia but I digress). Reinas are also usually a gooey delicious mash of shredded chicken with avocado and a touch of seasoning. Instead I was served a much MUCH dryer version of the reina mix laid between two halves of a cold arepa. Honestly, with the cold arepa it was more like having a hoagie sandwich than a latin comfort classic, especially because their version adds lettuce, tomato and red onion. The sandwich wasn't terrible and it WAS filling, but lacked seasoning, needed MUCH more avocado, and the arepa left something to be desired when served like 2 pieces of white bread instead of a warm pocket. Again, this would be what I consider Americanized versions of latin dishes. My husband had a beef empanada and pan de bono which seemed like they had been nuked in a microwave... but smelled delicious to me. His items may have been fresh at one point, but not at the time we ordered (10am-ish).The place is cute, the decor is homie yet chic, the staff is attentive once you get their attention, and overall the experience wasn't bad.... My only suggestion would be to maybe recategorize themselves instead of listing as a latin restaurant. Best of luck! read more

I had this place on my list to try, but unfortunately it did disappoint. The shop is cozy with inside and outside seating with a large selection of Brazilian sweets. We ordered lattes with oatmilk and the coffee was pretty bland. For being a Colombian coffee shop I expected the coffee to be of quality. I got a pandebono and it was warm and tasty, but a bit clumped. I looked forward to get Colombian empanadas and they did not have any. If the offerings are not going to be Colombian anymore, the name may have to reflect that change. It was okay but not what I expected for a Colombian shop. read more

This is the 10" Make Your Own pizza. I couldn't decide which ONE I truly wanted, why not just make your own? Attempting to be healthier, I went with the cauliflower crusted pizza. Kolombia Cafe is located in the SoDo section of Orlando, Florida. It is just off of Orange Avenue on that street that serves as a collection of restaurants and businesses and dead-ends at the Target. If you are unfamiliar with the SoDo area of Orlando, it is just south of the downtown area. The name is derived from its location, SoDo stands for SOuth of DOwntown. It is an area that certainly has changed a lot since I moved to Orlando back in 2001. This is a great place to kick back and enjoy a cup of their coffee. They also have food, though I did not try any. Both indoor and outdoor seating is an enjoyable way to savor your coffee. I was here on an early Sunday, so parking was not an issue, but be advised that parking can be problematic. All in all, I woukd definitely recommend here. read more

I went to the Kolombia Cafe a couple hours after the lunch rush hoping to grab some dessert and go. They ended up being somewhat busy and there was a line for ordering. I ended up ordering a few different desserts to take home to my family. The cake was fabulous and very rich! The brownie with toppings was also nice and gooey with great flavor! The only reason I gave the 4 stars instead of 5 was there were no prices listed anywhere and I was very surprised when 3 small desserts put me over $30 on the bill. While they were good... The staff are super friendly and always know what to recommend for a nice pick me up in the middle of my work days. I was very excited to try this place after seeing a lot of videos on instagram. I ordered two chicken stroganoff and pao de queijo. The chicken was bland and the fries were almost raw. They didn't have any color to it. The pao de queijo was good but extremely overpriced in my opinion. I wanted to try the desserts but I was so disappointed with the food that I didn't feel like paying for an overpriced dessert that might no be as good. This is such a cute intimate breakfast/brunch spot. I love how they do bottomless mimosas everyday. It is a smaller venue so I don't recommend going with more than two or three people. The food was delicious. The service was nice. The menu was we different - essentially you choose a bread base, and then add your meats, veggies, cheese to create your own sandwich for breakfast. The ambiance feels like a coffee shop and a wine bar and there were tons of bakery items on display that were very enticing. The cashier was very helpful explaining the menu and ingredients also. I ordered the Turkey Pepper Panini and the mayo-sriracha sauce, mushrooms, Mozzarella cheese, Kolombian dressing were amazing together. Not your typical panini which I loved. It also came with plantain chips and guac sauce. Everything was served on beautifully painted ceramic plates and dishes. I got three small Tekenos with guava and it was a perfectly sweet end of the meal. My friend got the vegan garden sandwich and vegan tres leches that were equally as good! The inside looked very cozy with plenty of seating at tables or counters, and the staff were very friendly. They offer a variety of drinks such as fruit juices/smoothies, coffee, and more alcoholic beverages than I expected. Their food menu is even bigger with plenty of breakfast/brunch items with vegan options and a badass bakery section. I got the maracuya juice ($4.25 for a medium) which had a lot of flavor but was way too sweet for me. I had to dilute it with a lot of water and it was still very sugary. Overall, I loved the casual vibes and the warm atmosphere, but I'd suggest going lighter on the sugar with the juices! read more

It seems that they are having a little trouble getting together. I arrived at the restaurant and they had customers waiting some time for someone to return to the cashier and we waited more than 5 min. After ordering, I waited more than 10 min and got my passion fruit juice and pão de queijo, but unfortunately, the pão de queijo was frozen inside, the server did not apologize and just said okay. Got new ones and they were super hot and burned my mouth. I appreciate that they are making new fresh ones every time but they need to keep them for 10 min. before serving to avoid a possible lawsuit. I had recently discovered this new coffee shop while I was in the SODO area heading to Target and I had to stop on by to check out what it was all about. Now walking into this coffee shop it was a smaller quaint shop that had all the personality that a coffee shop should. It had such colorful and quirky decor it really made the restaurant feel very inviting. Now as for the menu they had a wide variety of things from soups to sandwiches and traditional Colombian dishes. What I was very pleasantly surprised about was that they had vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. For the special of the day they had a vegetarian Bandeja Paisa which of course I had to get as I was very intrigued on how it would be executed because the traditional Bandeja Paisa is so meat forward. I must say I was not mad at it whatsoever... now I personally am not on a plant based diet whatsoever but after having that dish I must say that I did not miss the meat at all! We had also tried the beef soup, tuna salad sandwich, and the arepas. The soup tasted nice and comforting, the tuna salad was a pretty normal tuna salad nothing out of the ordinary but still tasty and the arepas were nice, crispy and delicious. We finished up our meal with a vegan banana bread which was alright but did manage to satisfy my sweet tooth. Oh and let's not forget the coffee.. now I'm pretty boring when it comes to my coffee as I like my coffee just black with no cream or sugar. From what I did have I thought it was a nice flavored brew. Overall I did enjoy my meal and the service was fantastic.
