Excellent service. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Sidewalk seating makes for great people watching. My matcha latte was perfect! Let's talk about the blueberry pancake special. Y'all. Run. Get it. It's gluten free combo of coffee cake and blueberries. I can't explain it but get it while it's there! Thank me later

So glad I stopped in today to grab some chocolate banana bread. When I went to order my coffee, I realized they have pistachio milk as an alternative, which is my favorite. The staff is always super friendly and I'm so glad that they have so many gluten-free options. The new general café is always very clean and has such an amazing ambience. I definitely recommend stopping in for coffee or a late lunch.

Came in here for a quick bite. Walk in as a very bright open open and modern atmosphere. Service is friendly and quote. My wife got the frittata that came with salad and she added bacon. The Frittata was amazing with the sweet potato purée. I've never had a frittata this good. The downside was a side of bacon was five dollars and they only gave you two slices.

Another fabulous breakfast at New General! I get the breakfast burrito every time and it SLAPS! The burrito is fat and everything is delicious! The egg, cheese, potatoes, bacon, avocado, and aioli all work together so well. It's a good portion size and easy to eat. I also enjoyed the iced strawberry rose tea, which is so sweet and refreshing. Service is always great and you can't beat their lovely outdoor seating area!

Just stopped by today for the first time. So many healthy choices and so many gluten free choices! The chai latte was amazing and my avocado toast was perfect. I will definitely return.

New General is a gorgeous little café, very aesthetically pleasing, clean, and curated. I got the salted caramel iced latte with oat milk and the coffee itself was great: strong, smooth, and well-balanced without being overly sweet. The inside has a very busy vibe. It was packed, loud, and definitely more "social café" than "work café." There is indoor seating, but realistically I don't know how anyone could focus unless they have headphones and a high tolerance for noise. Thankfully, there's plenty of outdoor seating which is a little calmer. They also sell lifestyle/goods inside -- cute, clean, high-end items that fit the whole aesthetic, but they're definitely on the pricier side. Overall, I'd say this is a good stop if you're already in the area walking around and want a nice coffee or a quick sip/pick-me-up. For me personally, it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way to come back to regularly because of how crowded it gets, but it IS a really pretty café with quality coffee.

Had no idea what Blue Majik was before coming here, but glad I got to try - it tastes like milky fruity pebbles LOL Not sure I'll get again since it was too milk forward for my taste, but it was fun to try. Lemon poppyseed muffin was good, and the interior is very calming. Only downside was that the gal taking my order seemed a little impatient that I was asking questions about the menu. It's a pricey cafe, but it's also expected of Winter Park. I'd still come back to try some of their espresso based drinks in the future since it's a cute spot.

Amazing as usual!! First time having the red velvet pancakes. So delicious! The breakfast burrito was perfect. Love the potato slice they put in it, definitely a unique breakfast burrito! My daughter got the chocolate banana bread, which is perfect because she gets it right when you order it at the counter. Staff is nice as always. We sat outside this morning and it was lovely.

This place is an upscale coffee house. The breakfast was ok... you pay a lot for a little. The atmosphere was very nice- clean and modern. The chai latte and matcha were nothing special, and slightly watered down. The breakfast burrito in bowl form was 90% kale, which I did not mind, but it would have been nice to know. Don't come here if you're hungry, but we were here for a company meeting and it was good for that. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was adorable!

Stale blueberry muffin and no WiFi.
    Roda C.

Disappointing experience as there was no WiFi and when I asked for the muffin to be heated, he said sorry we don't have a microwave up at the counter. Heating up the muffin could have made it taste better as it was somewhat stale with a slight refrigerator taste. I wonder what's gone wrong at New General because last time I was here a couple years ago everything was terrific!

Coffee shop right off of park Ave in winter park! I went on a Sunday and it was so busy! It took a while for my drink to be made. The matcha was ok but I ordered a carrot cake matcha and honestly could not taste any carrot cake flavor. I would like to come back and try a latte.

My new favorite spot for the perfect breakfast burrito! New General has a chill, laid back atmosphere with great food and coffee. I always have a great experience and the staff is very friendly. It is a popular spot so sometimes the food can take a bit but it's worth it!

I tried new general for the first time and I found it underwhelming. The line to order was extremely long. They sandwich I got was tasty and a good portion size. The coffee was okay; I ordered a vanilla iced latte but didn't really taste like anything. It is conveniently located near several other shops just a quick walk away. There is outdoor seating but we were lucky to find a spot inside. The inside is cute and has a lot of plants and some merchandise you can look at.

Light, airy, not overly sweet, and gone in about three bites flat. No notes. Tried the crème brûlée pastry too. Points for creativity all day. It's a cool concept and well executed, just didn't hit the same level as the cream puff. Still good, just not the headliner. And the iced tea deserves a mention. Strong. Like, actually strong. Not the watered-down afterthought you get at most spots. This one shows up with purpose. Overall, easy four stars. Fun stop, great vibe, and a menu that keeps things interesting without trying too hard. Just don't kid yourself into thinking you're only ordering one thing. That plan falls apart immediately.

That being said, it is a particular method that I'm expecting... as well as a particular strength I expect to receive when I order one. Even if a phin filter is not used...convince me with the taste of the coffee. From the moment they started making my coffee, I knew it wasn't gonna be what I wanted. However, it was already too late as I was invested and had driven quite a ways and brought a friend with me. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and when I saw the worker walk over and get my coffee out of a big beverage dispenser with a spigot, I cringed. And yes, it was just as bad as you might imagine if you are frequent drinker of traditional Vietnamese coffee. It was not strong, not sweet, and actually had some bitter notes. My friend got a churro coffee of some sort and was satisfied, but nothing to write home about. I gave the stars for the ambiance of the shop. It was different with lots of plants and flowers and was really calming and cute. But I was disappointed in the coffee overall and would not return. The name of the shop just really threw me for a loop so please don't be fooled or enticed by the name. I cannot speak to the other items on menu although we did try and order a particular pastry and it was not available. UPDATE: To address the concerns of comments left by the owner I'm well aware of authentic brewing vs. Western methods as well as the beans used. I'm also accustomed to waiting 10 minutes for my coffee at many locations because I understand the process. I do however understand that this process may not be conducive or practical to their business. My intention is not to detour business but to be real about my experience and to help others that may have similar expectations. To assume that my expectations are shaped by "western coffee expectations" seems...biased. I live close to a predominantly Asian cultural center and for other reasons that I don't feel the need to validate, I think my take is pretty solid. I believe in supporting small businesses but will not give a great review if it is not warranted...which is subjective. I could have mentioned it to your staff but time was a factor as I had an 8 hour drive ahead of me. For that, you do have my apologies.

Between the unique decor, eclectic crowd, and strong sense of local culture, it's long been a favorite for many people for many reasons. We went for the first Sunday open mic at the new location, and the place was packed. The crowd was colorful, the energy was high, and it truly felt like the community showing up to support something they love.
