Came here for the tuna carving/unlimited tuna omakase. Be prepared to EAT. I was about to call out after 12 pieces but I preserved and got up to 16. When I left there were still plenty of other people still eating. There is an option to include sake, but my friend and I declined. Edamame is included. I think the max amount of sushi they serve is 32? Unclear as I was about to pass out when I left. I'm surprised that I got the tuna carving as part of the meal since we only booked the unlimited tuna omakase. I think safe to say you can see the tuna carving regardless of what you book. I felt like the sushi was fine - not amazing. They recycled a lot of flavors, just seemed like they gave different parts of the fish with the same flavoring. It was alright - I think I am tuna'ed out.

Went for one of the Monday night tuna carvings! We were seated in the heated back patio, but everyone was invited to crowd around the sushi bar for the carving. I think I would have preferred to be seated at the bar, but we still had a good time. The food does take a little while to come out, but when it does you get 21 courses of tuna. The pieces are pretty reasonable in that they don't have too much rice so it is definitely doable. However there were some courses like the handroll or over the top sushi rolls that were designed to fill you up that I didn't enjoy. After the 21 courses you are able to order whatever you want, but only once at the end and you must finish it all or you will be charged $5 per piece. So you really need to be able to estimate what you can eat. We ordered toro sashimi and it was great! I thought the fish was really fresh! They definitely try to make each course different either with different flavor combinations or different cuts of tuna. Eventually they do come back to some of the early courses agin which were my favorite! The server comes to the back room with a platter of each course and puts it on your table's communal plate so things do start to get messy so it doesn't feel like a super fancy omakase situation. I think for $125 it is a little overpriced, given that you could get a pretty nice traditional omakase for around that range. This was definitely more casual but the quality was very good! If you order a lot of sashimi at the end I think you could make it worth it! Was a fun experience and good food though!

Went there for the tuna cutting experience & it was awesome! I highly recommend going there for that experience! For $125 it includes miso soup, edamame, unlimited saki & unlimited tuna Omakase. The service was good for a packed out evening. Definitely check this place out!

That was the first time I ever went there. I think it was worth the price learned a lot about tuna the good cuts fatty cuts the tasty part some of those pieces of fish were delicious. I was like wow all these different taste from one fish I learned it from tuna was cutting up in pieces breaking the fish down chunk so decorative had the best seat in the house, sitting at the bar a lot to learn about the tuna. I don't know how many pieces I ate. I lost count after about 20 I think. The service was great. It was on point with everything what you needed the atmosphere is very nice cozy It was like a marathon of eating all kinds of different cuts of tuna. well, I will go back yesss

Best experience I've ever had!! We came for the all you can eat tuna event, one of a kind experience. Food was amazing, the ambience was great, and the service was superb. Our chef Benji and our waiter elan took the best care of us. I recommend Koma sushi to anyone who loves sushi. Truly a hidden gem!

Full disclosure, this is a kosher sushi restaurant so one has to taper one's expectations. That being said, the place is better than I expected it to be. As with everything sushi, freshness is most important and the fish was fresh. If you like salmon and tuna, then this is the place for you. I had a few variations of both and they were good. Service is also good. Staff were attentive and friendly. Overall I had a pleasant experience and so will you.

Came here with my dad after he was raving about how great the monthly all you can eat tuna special was. I would love to try it but we sat down for some delicious omakase instead. We did the 8 piece omakase and we're given a wide range of dishes. All were great and really fresh but I have had better omakase. I like when the fish is raw and a lot of the pieces were torched. I also don't like when they add truffle for no reason makes it a less authentic experience. My favorite was probably the king salmon. Really buttery and fatty. We even went ahead and ordered a specialty roll with it because it was that good.We also had some edamame which were probably frozen and just cooked right on the spot so I'd skip out on that. The sake was great and an off menu crispy rice roll was delicious. Definitely would come back again simply for the rice!!!

We came here as a group of four and sat at the sushi bar, and it was a great experience. This is built more like a traditional Japanese style sushi bar, rather than your usual kosher sushi restaurant. If you're in the mood for kosher sushi, this place has got some of the freshest and delicious fish available. We didn't do the Omakase (custom chef menu) but we did order a fair amount of food and the cost was about $40-50 per person, which was very reasonable for the amount we ordered. We tried the fatty Toro rolls, which were excellent, and started with a salmon skin salad and yellowtail serrano which were perfect. The fish is really fresh here, so the true taste comes out. We also got the katsu roll, which is battered and fried salmon, it was awesome. The chefs hit us with some hand rolls, and my personal favorite was a salmon tomato sashimi that was broiled with a torch. I only had a few qualms - the waiter didn't mention unlimited sake on the $70 Omakase but we saw someone else getting it. Weird, but also weird that you can't just order sake - we really wanted sake but just couldn't buy it without spending money on an Omakase? They should allow sake to be purchased separately (or at least BYOB). Also, the bar was at a higher eye level than we could see, which was also not ideal. Finally, there was no dessert menu, which is an opportunity for them. I also wish there were more main courses, maybe some noodle dishes or some true Japanese entrées with more variety.

I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this experience. I did come in with low expectations despite the raving reviews, because we are on Ave M of all places and here's an omakase spot. I've been eyeing this spot before it even opened but the reviews didn't tell me enough information about the pieces themselves. I've been waiting and waiting and finally the bf suggested coming and I hopped on that offer. So my boyfriend and I opted for the $70 omakase option for 15 pieces. Two of the pieces can be replaced with edmame and miso soup, but I decided to get all sushi pieces. Why wouldn't you? This is what it's about! Edamame and miso soup isn't worth anything so def go for the sushi pieces. They seated us at the sushi bar as I asked and apparently you don't need to do an omakase to sit there. They then serve you iced water and it took awhile for the pieces to start, so I had time to admire the decor. Counter decor seems a bit dated, but the inside is sleek and is reminiscent of a Japanese place. I noticed that some of the chefs were not exactly wearing the masks properly, but thankfully our designated omakase chef was. All 15 pieces are listed below. Keep in mind that there's no wagyu, Uni, caviar, shrimp, scallop, but it seems like they compensate for that by giving you multiple toro pieces. I would also say that there were some unique pieces but most of the pieces did also taste pretty similar. Essentially a sweet soy sauce, torched piece with some wasabi. So my boyfriend actually enjoyed Omakase by Hiro more. While the flavors were similar here, it tasted good so I didn't mind. Overall, the sushi rice was nicely seasoned and the pieces were a decent size + flavors were safe and consistent so I enjoyed my time here. I will definitely come back for just a normal dining experience, but am curious about the more expensive omakase (or if this is only a tuna tasting). Alas, I finally know what the experience is like and will be coming back. 1. Toro sashimi - this was good and was a nice way to start the omakase experience. The shredded radish underneath the sashimi was not so good with the dish though 2. Branzino with lemon zest - this was pretty good! I was surprised but the lemon zest def made it different and good. I guess this replaces Yuzu 3. King trout - pretty good, like any salmon piece 4. Fluke - this was pretty good as well 5. Akami Tuna - a lean tuna but still melts in your mouth 6. Kanpachi Amberjack - this piece was boring, a bit bland 7. Salmon toro with aged onion - this piece was also not that impressive. I actually didn't enjoy the aged onion. 8. Chutoro - this piece was amazing 9. Yellowtail with jalapeño and truffle oil - this piece was good 10. Fluke fin - this was a pretty bland piece even though I think it was torched. 11. Salmon tomato - I've seen another reviewer rave about this. It wasnt bad and it was definitely unique. I didn't mind this piece 12. Hamachi toro - this piece melted in your 13. Double toro - this piece melted in your mouth. It was so so good. 14. Tuna tartare - this was okay. I think it needed a bit more citrus, but not bad 15. Yellowtail scallion handroll - this was pretty good. The seaweed was super crunchy.

The Omakase was very tasty and was relatively cheaper than other Omakase spots. However the sushi itself is pretty expensive.

I was pretty surprised how they charge for cheese (the place is mostly Kosher, and the Cheese of I remember is vegan) which contradict the concept of smash burgers. The fries were overly cooked if not almost burned, so I couldnt eat half of the basket. Service: ordering regular fries and getting trufle fries just to charge me extra is not a nice move.
