Looks like this place goes by KOMI tofu but when I search for KOMI, Seoul Tofu comes up so I'm assuming these two businesses are the same. In the past, this used to be Jang An tofu, which was one of our favorite tofu soup places in the PNW area and we actually had gone out of our way to come here for their delicious tofu soup. This place has obviously gone through a change in management. I ordered my usual tofu soup with a "spicy" rating. Noticed a few changes. They no longer serve the little yellow croaker fish. They now serve mackerel. Historically, tofu soup goes hand in hand with yellow croaker as they balance and enrich each other's taste. Mackerel seems random and is not truly supported by the traditional taste palate when it come to the presentation of tofu soup. Anyhoo, mackerel itself tasted OK but it certainly did not go well with tofu soup. And the tofu soup. Tofu soup is one of my absolute favorite. I had one sip and I immediately tasted the exploding spiciness from what seems to be capsaicin. The spiciness was more chemical in nature rather than from a combination of tasty flavors. I could not even have the courage to go for the second spoon. I actually stopped eating and I did not even want to take it home but my wife did not want it go to waste so we decided to take it home and modify the taste a bit. Also the rice. Traditionally, it should be presented in the hot stone pot so that the bottom layer is slightly burnt so that when you pour hot water, it becomes a flavory bowl of nureungji. That's an essential part of the tofu soup experience. However, here, they are using a stainless steel bowl on top of the stone pot, which makes this experience dull. From getting rid of the yellow croaker and the original stone pot, they have changed the whole tofu soup experience. And the tofu soup is not great either. Service was friendly, however. Ambiance was the same as before. I would love them to do better. But at this time, I won't be returning anytime soon. Sorry.

I came back to Seoul Tofu after a long time and had lunch by myself. It's located inside the Great Wall Shopping Mall. I ordered the fish roe tofu soup, which came piping hot and full of flavor. The stone pot rice was nicely cooked, and the banchan (side dishes) were fresh and tasty -- especially the kimchi and cucumber. There weren't many servers working, so I had to wait a bit to be seated and served, but the staff were kind and courteous, which made up for the delay. Overall, a cozy spot for Korean comfort food. I'll definitely be back!

This place is under new ownership so I came by to give it a try. Even though the menu is pretty similar the soup and sides don't seem as good as before. The rice is exactly as I remember it. I ordered a medium spicy on the soup and it was very mild. The soup was not even red. I would recommend spicy if you normally can handle a medium elsewhere. The staff seemed nice but I go to Korean restaurants for the sides and this one doesn't meet the bar. I would love to see the deep fried bony fish replaced with fish cakes. I also noticed from previous photos that the sides never change so switching things up from time to time would be nice.

We tried again a week or so later as my work is close by and we wanted something quick and affordable as we had a comedy show to go to afterwards. As we entered, we were the only ones and we were greeted warmly by the sushi chef and our waitress. Our waitress told us to pick any table we'd like and she brought us menus. Once we had ample time to glance over the menu which honestly had the right amount of items, I got the udon and shrimp tempura while my boyfriend got their Philadelphia roll and chicken katsu. Our waitress asked if we were fine with water and I didn't see a drink section on the menu but they do offer fountain drinks, canned drinks and hot tea. The inside is small but it's cozy and initmate. They have K-pop playing in the background with the music video. There is a good mix of natural lighting from the sun and inside. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained. We received our roll and shrimp tempura first, udon next and finally the chicken katsu. The katsu sauce here is one of the best katsu sauce we've ever had as it had a perfect balance of tangy, sweet and savory flavors. There was a lot of katsu and my boyfriend said the only complaint was he wished there was a bit more rice as the ratio was off. I loved my udon, they give a generous portion of fish cakes, fish balls and a piece of shrimp tempura as well as plenty of tempura flakes. I do wish there was a bit more noodles but that was my only real complaint. The shrimp tempura was good but I do wish there was a bit more sauce. My boyfriend's roll was delicious and fresh! Their hot green tea was also comforting and delightful! The service here is pleasant as our waitress was kind and checked in on us often. She was also courteous and professional with other customers. We look forward to coming back whenever we're hungry for good and affordable sushi and Korean food.

The place is cute inside, it was actually very roomy, has a lot of natural light and they had some K-pop videos playing in the background. The restaurant is tucked away near the closed down Old Country Buffett in Kent East Hill. I really should've tried coming here instead of traveling to Renton for some sushi! But I will definitely return for more of their delicious sushi!!! I would definitely give them a try if you're in the area.

Service is efficient and friendly enough, and the decor is Hanok-charm. My dad taught me how to enjoy this with radish kimchi, and he told me both the soup AND the radish kimchi have to be good, or don't bother. This place has never failed my household and has been consistent, even after the new ownership years ago. Each rice/noodle/broth bite is like being hugged by a Teddy bear, and with the crunchy (maybe even lightly pickled?) radish kimchi... how could you not want to eat here? I would not sniff at the handmade mandoo... those dumplings didn't come from a frozen package from HMart, so make sure you get at least a 6 pc order in. The shoyu-based dipping sauce is optional, really. You could enjoy with or without it. Tip: add a little bit of the radish kimchi brine to your soup broth for a next level spicy flavor bomb bite. You won't be sorry.

I like that they have knife cut noodle soup and the broth is flavorful (no salt so you add as you wish!) The kimchi is homemade and tastes amazing- gives flavor to the broth too! Would go again. Maybe not Sunday at 6pm tho.

Speaking of pork belly they were too chewy we cooked it for long enough and it was still very chewy. Service was trash. The lady that was our server poured all the meat on our fryer so half of the meat was stacked on top of each other so it took longer to cooked. We're already on a 90 minute time crunch. If my step dad wasn't pestering the lady for a next round they wouldn't have checked on us and we would've been waiting for 30 minutes. While we were waiting for the second round the lady told us to turn off our heater when we're not using it, the man later came and turned it back on and told us to keep it at level 400-500. The next time we got the food she tried to put all the meat on the fryer again my step dad said "It's okay we got it, thank you" she looked at us like we didn't know what we were doing. Later on she looked at how we put everything on the fryer she looked and laughed at us TWICE.

However, I had a horrible experience with service in May. It was by far the WORST service I've ever received, even based Asian restaurant standards (iykyk). I've always had older servers, usually ladies but on occasion on gentleman. This time, it was a young girl. It was my first time seeing her there. She had no facial expression to start. And after she repeated our orders, it was incorrect so I correct her. She said "I know", and repeated the wrong order again. When I clarified by listing the correct order, she just rolled her eyes and walked away. Isn't it a server's job to take order, and make sure it's correct? I did not take away from the tips because there are other servers who helped bring our food and refill the banchans, but this encounter made me not want to go back for a while, despite how much I like the food. Management - please train your staff about customer service, especially the new hires.

Being from Missouri I knew that the prices would be a bit more than what I was used to but it really wasn't that significant. Lastly, do they have options for children? I would say no but that depends on what kind of food your kids eat Hahha. This is more of an adult restaurant not particular organized for kids meals. Overall, I definitely recommend everyone check this place out. The food is so fresh and flavorful. We lived the experience and would definitely come back if we find ourselves in town again.
