Side of coleslaw at Kona Bay Cafe Lantana
    Kris R.

Food was not as good as it usually is Told them I have serious mushroom allergy- my food came w mushrooms. Ordered to go for my mom- Added side of coleslaw- see pix. Called manager and he was rude and hung up on me. Staff minus manager always friendly. Maybe cater less to snowbirds and more to your year round customers. Been coming here for 10 years. Not anymore This place used to be great- def NOT anymore

The "avocado toast" was barely a smear of Costco avocado spread on an oversized slice of bread--hardly deserving of the name. Very disappointing. On the bright side, the drinks were large, and the French toast was solid.

Came for breakfast on a Sunday morning and sat outside. Our server was lovely, very pleased with her. I ordered the nova platter which was yummy. I also ordered a side of hash browns. Everything came out relatively fast and was good!

I was delighted by the food. I need to put on a few pounds so I chose the most fattening thing I could on the menu. Lobster and brie cream cheese filled omelette. To order takeout one sits at the bar and I was given a menu. I was told that Oscar would take care of my order. I said interesting. My Indian ringneck is named Oscar. Of course, when Oscar delivered my food, I had to show him a picture of Oscar. It was early in the afternoon and the restaurant was quite busy, especially a lot of diners sitting outside in these retro chairs, which were my favorite color turquoise. I will definitely dine there again as the food was delicious and the portions were large. I have half of that meal to finish today. It is very convenient and right down the way from Trader Joe's, where I shop quite often. The staff was friendly and courteous, always a pleasure. There are a multitude of other entrées that I would love to try on their menu.

This was my first time ever dining here. I've had their food before, but it was delivered. It was recommended by some friends and did not disappoint. Having it served fresh was even better. Understandably, there was a bit of a wait on the weekend. But despite this place being super busy, the staff was fast and friendly. Not only was our server attentive, but the other servers would tend to the tables if they noticed something as well (low drink glass, dirty plates, etc). The best part was getting the yummy food. Their crab cake benny was so fresh tasting and flavorful. Every bite was literally perfect, especially with a side of their home fries. I tasted the pumpkin pancakes that took up an entire plate by themselves. They were so fluffy and good - just the right amount of spice. Someone else at the table ordered French toast and they literally brought a plateful! What's brunch without mimosas? You can literally share them because they are GIANT too!

The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, creating a comfortable setting for our meal. I ordered the key lime chicken tacos, which were slightly spicy but very flavorful. The beer‑battered onion rings were exceptionally crispy and delicious. My friend chose the fried grouper sandwich with fries and commented that it was very good and impressively not greasy. For dessert, I tried the key lime pie with a pecan crust. While I appreciated the creativity, it wasn't my favorite. I found the crust less appealing, and the filling could have used a bit more tartness to achieve that classic key lime balance. Despite the dessert not meeting my expectations, the overall dining experience was enjoyable, and the quality of the food and atmosphere made for a pleasant lunch.

We had never really eaten here besides a a slice of pie, but we had a gift card. I went in with low expectations, knowing this place is all about the dock bar destination. We started with the fish dip, which was heavy on the mayo. Not one of the better ones we've had but it was alright. The dinner really wasn't very good. I got the blackened mahi sandwich with fries. Fries were soggy and the mahi was over-salted. My wife had the tacos and she said they were only ok. The side of rice she got was overcooked until crispy. Our server, Alfred, however, was great, and made sure we were having a good time. We'll come back for a slice of pie and/or drinks, but the entrees were disappointing.

It was quite windy this time around but it was welcome with the May heat. As a note, there's a big parking lot (pay through Park Mobile) and the cost to park was reasonable. We were seated right away and our waiter was Jeremiah who couldn't be more pleasant. I had tea (they brought out a mini teapot) and my husband had coffee (they came around for refills). I chose to have the Crème Brûlée French toast which was one of the specials. It was good and not too too sweet (but still quite filling). My husband opted for the Vegetarian omelette which came with toast and potatoes (or grits). He said his omelette was fabulous and would be a redo. We will definitely be back!

The many times that I've been here, the food and drink have always hit just right and the service is quick - even when the place is packed. The berry Greek yogurt crepes are tangy, sweet, crunchy, and all together, a great combination of flavors and textures. There are so many berries - enough for each bite. The granola is the perfect juxtaposition to the soft, thin crepes that are filled with a tangy yogurt. The portion size is more than enough for one person, possibly even two. Unless I'm driving, I always start off my meal with one of their cocktails. My two favorites are their piña colada and bloody Mary. They're both tall, strong, and flavorful - perfect while watching to waves crash into the shore. I would also recommend their spanakopita when it's on their specials. Their Greek omelet is delicious too. This is a great place to bring out of town guests, and the great part about this place besides its food and drink is that you can take a leisurely stroll on the beach after breakfast or brunch and make the day extra special!

We learned about the restaurant being named for her mom (No, it doesn't mean gold). The restaurant faces the south side of the street in a strip next to the smoke shop. Parking is in a lot a couple doors west. Look for the umbrella table outside. The street numbers jump from 500 to 426 in one storefront. Inside, it's charmingly decorated. The dates on the walls refer to different relatives birth years. We started with drinks. I got an iced decaf coffee. I had my choice of 3 milks. He had an iced chai latte. He said it didn't need any added sugar. Both were very good. For food, I ordered their burger. It was cooked to temp as requested. The patty topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese. It was good. Alongside came crispy chips and a small bowl of their special (addictive) Le Dor sauce -- a mix of cheese and burger jus. My husband had their chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. The salad had nice chunks of chicken along with raisins, avocado, spicy mayo (just a touch of a kick), and lettuce. There were grapes and an orange, too, on the plate. He said it was wonderful. The menu is small, but prepared to look good as well as taste delicious. They offer special pasta nights. Call for info and reservations for these events.
