My dad brought his clothes to Rocky's for years. Jeff has always been so kind to my dad and truly happy to see him. My dad recently passed away. When we went to find his suit, we couldn't find it. On a hunch, I called Rocky's to see if, by chance, it was there and it was! Jeff knew exactly who my dad was and was so consoling and nice. Recently moved here for graduate school at the Claremont Colleges, had my girlfriend drop off a couple white $250 dress shirts, I get them back looking worse than when I gave it to them ... completely ruined and they even WROTE MY GIRLFRIENDS FULL NAME ON THE SHIRT .. stamped it with black ink ... somehow got black and blue stains on the armpit area from probably trying to scrub it with something that was black and blue ... I am beyond pissed and hope the worst for this business after ruining my day: Woke up to put my fresh shirts on and BOOM they're all ruined. Did they even wash them? So let me tell you how I did not know that I left a huge sum of money in one of the suits that I was dropping off and when I went to pick it up the store owner, Vicky, said that in one of the suits there was two of my credit cards and also a hefty amount of money anyone would take but she returned everything to me and I was very glad and appreciative of how honest she is and now this will be the only cleaners I will only go to. Rocky's was recommended by 2 different textile/wearable artists. I took in a silk garment more than 100 yrs old, in good shape but the lining was very soiled (i.e. gross) at neck and hem. Would have washed it but afraid the color would run. Didn't even want to touch it the way it was! Rocky's were not able to get the really soiled areas "clean", not surprising, but the overall garment is now clean enough to start working on it -- and no damage to the antique silk. And only $20! Happy to find a new cleaners. I didn't give 5 stars as I've only been there once. Parking is nonexistent, but it's Claremont! read more

For me, this laundry is the best (in in my are, the only) coin-free laundry place. The area its in is nice, the staff working there are friendly and always smiling, and the price is not bad at all. Debbie and Jeff are meticulous about each garment and household item I bring them. Without their extra care on my husband's car show T-shirt's, he would have many t-shirt's not fit to wear. It's rare when you walk in for everyone family member to know you by name , they also know your garments just in case you're in a hurry and drop them at the counter without talking to anyone... This is the first time I have ever written a yelp review but I felt so strongly about what happened that I felt that I needed to write a review so that others would know. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I brought some clothes in to be dry-cleaned for the first time and they absolutely ruined 2 of my jackets. When I brought in my jacket there was a few small ink stains on the front that I requested that they try to spot treat. When I went to pick them up I noticed that it looked worse than the first time. One of the workers there offered to to try to clean it again. When I went back for a second time both jackets looked worse than the first and one is not even salvageable at all. In addition, the prices are much too high (compared to other places I have been in the area) especially for the service that you get. To top it off the parking around the area is very difficult as well. Please do not waste your money. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Rocky's is a family-owned business conveniently located in downtown Claremont near the post office. My mother and I regularly did business with the family during the nineties and early aughts when she was going to church and I was teaching. We appreciated that they handled our clothes professionally and were always friendly. After I retired and she became too disabled to attend church regularly, we stopped using their services. When I returned last year after a several years absence, I was surprised that the son/grandson remembered me, even though he used my more memorable mother's name. In this period when we are more likely to be interacting with bots or mean-spirited, incompetent humans, I enjoy doing business with friendly, competent people.
