After hearing about Golden Lantern Coffee Roasters for so long, I'm so glad I finally made it in this morning. The space is super cute and moody, with beautiful decor and a great overall ambience. I loved that the music wasn't too loud, making it a really pleasant place to sit. You can definitely tell it's a beloved local shop with plenty of regulars. I tried their new seasonal coconut latte with an extra shot, and it was perfect, not artificial tasting at all, and the quality of the espresso really shined through. The crew at Golden Lantern is amazing. We hired them to do a coffee cart at our wedding and they blew all of our expectations out of the water! We've been visiting them since they opened a couple years ago and they're our "home coffee shop". Was in the area and of course was up for a coffee. So I waked in and the classy moody atmosphere inside immediately felt comfortable and relaxing, a little more sophisticated. The menu offered several delicious sounding coffee choices, I settled on the cardamom latte. Coffee was smooth, had good presence, the almond milk did not overpower the espresso, always good. I can't believe I never stumbled upon this cute shop until now. A hidden gem, with good parking, merch and a unique menu of drink selections. Service was quick and love the cozy vibes. I tried the seasonal marigold latte, iced- seasonal on their menu which included espresso, chocolate, pistachio and orange. The flavors stood out in the best way. My wife and I came in over the weekend, as it had been on my list of coffee places to try for a while! It's a cool and cozy space- I love how they maximized seating and the tiny lamps on each table definitely add to the vibe. The employee that greeted us and helped us out was very genuine and friendly, I could tell from interactions that staff make a true effort to get to know their regulars. I got the maple cardamom latte and my wife got the marigold latte- both were smooth with well balanced flavors. We were happy to learn that they will be changing weekend hours to stay open until 3pm since we enjoy visiting coffee shops on the weekend to get work done/read. We will definitely be returning! It is such a hidden gem -- coffe roaster in Laguna Hill. Even though they located in the back of the business plaza you still can find it due to the aroma of coffee roaster ! I order a pour over and it taste fruity and floral as it describe. The sour taste was not easily accept by everyone. And don't get me wrong, they also serve other coffee bean that been careful and professionally roasted so they also serve the coffee bean with the chocolate and brown sugar aroma. Golden Lantern is located in an industrial park complex. When I walked it, it smelled absolutely amazing as they were roasting in the back. The space is so cool. They home make some unusual syrups for their lattes. I was torn as there were many good choices and I rarely order more than one drink on a visit. The uber friendly barista suggested the dark maple cardamon hot and the blackberry vanilla cold. I'm always afraid of drinks being too sweet and the barista said they are balanced. I'm always skeptical, but they are really balanced. The blackberry vanilla is totally unique, delicious, and refreshing. The blackberry syrup is homemade. The dark maple cardamon is so warming. Pastries are from Crema artisan in Irvine. What an amazing find and a true hidden gem. Casual, easy parking, inside and outside seating. Super friendly service. Inside is a small but cozy coffee bar with seating. It is a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy a cup. There is a small couch and two lounge chairs. They did a nice job with the ambiance. Good calm music to set a nice vibe. Today I got the latte with whole milk. I have to say, I haven't been to a lot of small batch coffee roaster places but where I have been there has been a bitter end to the drinks. This latte was smooth all the way from sip to after taste. Matt and his team not only offer unique lattes and drinks, but a helpful expertises when it comes to coffee roasting and beans. They even have the back space open for customers to check out the operations and get a peak at the world of coffee roasting. As of a few weeks ago, they renovated and now have a wide open space to hang out or for meet ups! My personal favorite to get is their cold brew.
