Amazing bagel, amazing people, amazing service. Love this place! This place was super good, clean, and fast. Very fresh bagels and coffee!

I've been making a conscious effort to support local businesses, so I decided to pick up some bagels from here for a Saturday brunch with friends. The bagels were fresh and there were plenty of flavors to choose from. Our favorite was the jalepeno cheddar bagel. I ordered a baker's dozen along with two tubs of cream cheese (garden veggie and jalapeno). Both cream cheeses were flavorful and paired perfectly with the bagels. The prices were comparable to other bagel chains. There are a few tables outside if you'd like to sit and eat, but most customers seemed to be grabbing their orders to go. Parking was easy since it's located in the same plaza as Home Depot. Service was quick and efficient, even though it was pretty busy on a Saturday morning. I'd definitely stop by again when picking up bagels for a group gathering. read more

Used the Too Good To Go app to try this bagel place. Normally shops include a sampler mix, but we received a bag of only Salt bagels and Garlic Salt bagels. The Salt and the Garlic were completely crusted with enough salt to cause a heart attack! The Garlic was so pungent we had to put the bag outside! I had assumed the shop would include a normal plain or sesame bagel? I even bought a $5 strawberry creamcheese (which was great with the store bought bagels I had to buy!!). I thought I could scrape most of the salt off the bagel and put some ham with it -- but it was still "gag you" salty. I wasn't going near the pungent Garlic. -Clearly customers won't pay full price for those monstrosities -- so they foist them off on unassuming TGTG app users? Another bagel place just opened in San Clemente, and since it was so close, thought we'd give it a try. Their bagels are small, creating much smaller sandwiches - non-filling at all. We will be making the trips to The Bagel Shacks both in town AND in Lake Forest - well worth the trips! Their bagels are over half a size bigger, plumper, so generous and filling! We are originally from the San Francisco Bay Area where Bagels are basically a worshipped item. We tried the shops around Lake Forest but when Bagel Shack opened it was like a gift from heaven. The bagels are excellent! The service is A plus. So if you are in this area count your blessings and stop in or if headed south they have an heavenly base in San Clemente! They offer a nice outside patio to enjoy your bagel right there or a few tables inside for those few days we didn't pay taxes for in sunny Southern California. Great atmosphere! read more

Decided to try out a new bagel place and I'd have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm always looking for the best breakfast places in South OC, which I feel is extremely underrated as a food scene. There are so many local businesses that just make great food, and I'm glad to count The Bagel Shack among them. I'm a Bagels & Brew person since it's closer to me, but they make solid bagel sandwiches here, and I love how there's a great steak bagel option called Uppers, which makes for a hearty breakfast when you want something beyond the more basic options. It's still at a very fair price in this economy for a whole lot of food, which I'm always going to highlight. I'm definitely adding this place to my rotation when I'm looking for a great bagel sandwich, where it stands out among a pretty competitive scene of delicious, affordable options for breakfast. TIP: Jalapeño bagels are my favorite and great with the sandwich. read more

We love bagel shack and usually go to the one in San Clemente. This one isn't as good with their portions on the toppings. I've attached of the same thing from different locations. These bagels all looked amazing. I got the everything bagel because that's what I always get with my breakfast sandwiches. It was toasted perfectly. Still soft enough to eat with a nice crunch. Lately, I have been on a bit of travel around OC which included a bagel search since Bagel Shack is not everywhere. No less than six attempts including Einsteins, Bruegger and a list of smallers. JUST HERE TO AFFIRM NOBODY COMES CLOSE TO BAGEL SHACK! The bagels are all at once light, chewy and crispy with no skimp on the main ingredients. Further, they get your order right! Can't say enough. There are few good bagel shops here in South Orange County but the bagel shack is by far the best of the bunch. Their bagels are fluffy, yet the outer is crisp and inner is chewy. It's perfect to take home and spread their delicious whipped cream cheese, or grab one of their made sandwiches. Our favorites are the cinnamon, the everything, the plain (in my opinion they have one of the best plain bagels) and jalapeño and cheese is stuffed with jalapeños just how I like it. The service is good, it's quaint inside but there is plenty of parking and you can sit down and eat outside as there is no seating inside. This place is in the same parking lot as home Depot. Plenty of parking. Few tables inside and out. Outside they have heat lamps hung up for when it gets chilly but probably not enough cover for the rain. Bagels are baked fresh throughout the day! It's very enjoyable people watching when eating here. There are some regulars (those guys who wait around home Depot hoping to get picked up for a job) I overheard the cashier give them a BOGO deal today which is very nice considering how often they must frequent this place. Staff is amazing and when there's no line, they are eager to assist especially if you are a first timer. Jalapeno bagel with jalapeno cream cheese - we asked the cashier first of it'd be too jalapeno overwhelming, he said "nope" and he was right! I had to steal several bites of BF's bagel hahaha Breakfast bagels comes toasted but not dressed. Condiments were around the back near the restroom. I didn't know about this until after I was nearly done with my bagel sandwich. It would've been so much tastier if I had mayo and ketchup... I only had cholula so it was just ok today. Dunno why they toast the bagels since they are baked fresh... Isn't that like NY taboo? LOL Lox came PACKED! BF's niece struggled to finish this one because of how much food it ended up being! I love cream cheese as much as the next person, but this felt more like an order of cream cheese with a side of bagel. I usually go to the one in San Clemente, but this one is a bit closer to me so I decided to go today. Staff was super nice no issues there at all, but this was the worst bagel I've ever had in my entire life. The ones I get at the San Clemente location are always super fresh & hot, this tasted and looked like it was just recently taken out of a cold fridge. Wasn't toasted whatsoever despite me asking for it to be. Super unfortunate as I'd love to make this location my go-to, but I would've rather driven the extra miles for one from San Clemente. There's nearly always a line so you know it's good. The bagels are tasty especially when toasted. The fresh squeezed OJ is perfect.

The bagels here are pretty good, but the service could use some work as they are all teenagers and lack experience. I know the wait can be long so i put in a mobile order. When i asked about my order the cashier told me it wasn't ready yet, 15 minutes later another employee asked me about my order and grabbed a bag that had been sitting there the entire time -_-. They were all so nice!! They have a big variety of bagels. We got a few dozen togo with a mix of jalapeño, Swiss, onion, garlic, cinnamon crunch, egg, plain and so many more!! We also each got a sandwich to eat on the ride home and they were all fantastic! I got a garlic bagel with egg cheese and bacon and wow it was amazing!!
